For an increasing interest on environment and a reinforcement of regulation, reverse supply chain is getting more interest recently In this study, reverse supply chain model of the automobile industry is designed using system dynamics. Using this model, an enterprise can do various analysis to get better understanding in strategic and operational aspect. The impact on supply chain which is caused by the variation of remanufacturing rate and recycle rate as time changes can be analyzed. Also environment image of the enterprise can be analyzed in quantitative manner to make it easy to set up own strategic plan.

A dynamic model to simulate LNG reliquefaction process has been developed. The model was applied to two candidate cycles for LNG reliquefaction process, which are Reverse Brayton and Claude cycles. The simulation was intended to simulate the pilot plant under construction for operation of the two cycles and evaluate their feasibility. According to the simulation results, both satisfy control requirements for safe operation of brazed aluminum plate-fin type heat exchangers. In view of energy consumption, the Reverse Brayton cycle is more efficient than the Claude cycle. The latter has an expansion valve in addition to the common facilities sharing with the Reverse Brayton cycle. The expansion valve is a main cause to the efficiency loss. It generates a significant amount of entropy associated with its throttling and increases circulation flow rates of the refrigerant and power consumption caused by its leaking resulting in lowered pressure ratio. It is concluded that the Reverse Brayton cycle is more efficient and simpler in control and construction than the Claude cycle.

In this study, a modified reverse flow type, one of the triple effect absorption cycles, is studied for performance improvement. The cycle simulation is carried out by using EES(Engineering Equation Solver) program for the working fluid of $H_2O/LiBr$ solution. The split-ratios of solution flow rate, UA of each component, pumping mass flow rate of solution are considered as key parameters. The results show that the optimal SRH (split ratio of high side) and SRL (split ratio of low side) values are 0.596 and 0.521, respectively. Under these conditions, the COP is maximized to 2.1. The optimal pumping mass flow rate is selected as 3 kg/s and the corresponding UAEV A is 121 kW/K in the present system. The present simulation results are compared to the other literature results from Kaita's (2002) and Cho's (1998) triple effect absorption systems. The present system has a lower solution temperature and a higher COP than the Kaita's modified reverse flow, and it also gives a higher COP than the Cho's parallel flow by adjusting split ratios.

Recently, the deepening of the environment and accompanying concerns produce various environmental regulations. For example, EPR(Extended Producer Responsibility) is emphasized in many countries such as USA and Europe. According to this, the construction of a reverse supply chain is under compulsion. A diversity of parts can be controlled by a government or enterprises in the construction and management of a reverse supply chain and the effect to the environment is changed according to the policy. Therefore, it is essential to understand the effects of regulations or policies of a government and enterprises on a supply chain. The object of this research is to develop a means to assess the management efficiency and the environmental effect over a whole supply chain and show the effects of various reverse supply chain construction policies on a supply chain. This model can be utilized to establish appropriate policies by understanding the change in the management efficiency and the environmental effect according to the reverse supply chain construction and management method.
Lead alloy is used as coolant in Lead-based cooled Fast Reactor (LFR). The natural characteristics of lead alloy are combined with the simple structural design of LFR. This constitutes the inherent safety characteristics of LFR. The main work of this paper is to take the main coolant pump (MCP) in the lead-cooled fast reactor (LFR) as the research object, and to study the flow pattern distribution of the internal flow field under the reverse rotation pump condition, the reverse rotation positive-flow braking condition and the reverse rotation negative-flow braking condition. In this paper, the double-outlet volute type and the space guide vane are selected as the potential designs of the CLEAR-I MCP. In this paper, the CFD method is used to study the potential reverse accident of the MCP. It is found that the highest flow velocity in the impeller appears at the impeller outlet, and the Q-H curves of the two design programs basically coincide. The space guide vane type MCP has better hydraulic performance under the reverse rotation positive-flow condition, the Q-H curves of the two designs gradually separate with increasing flow rate, and the maximum flow velocity inside the space guide vane type MCP is obviously lower than that of the double-outlet volute type. For the reverse rotation test of MCP, only the condition of the forward rotating pump of the main coolant pump is tested and verified. For the simulation of the MCP in LBE medium, it proved that the turbulence model and basic settings selected in the simulation are reliable.

In this paper, we report the first three-dimensional simulation result of the transient enhanced diffusion(TED) of dopants in the ion-implanted silicon by employing our 3D semiconductor process simulator, INPROS system. In order to simulate three-dimensional TED redistribution of dopants in silicon, the dopant distributions after the ion implantation was calculated by Monte Carlo(MC) method, followed by finite element(FE) numerical solver for thermal annealing. Excellent agreement between the simulated 3D profile and the SIMS data has been obtained for ion-implanted arsenic and phosphorus after annealing the boron marker layer at 75$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours. Our three-dimensional TED simulation could successfully explain the reverse short channel effect(RSCE) by taking the 3D point defect distribution into account. A coupled TED simulation and device simulation allows reverse short channel effect on threshold to be accurately predicted.
This paper presents a practical methodology for realistic simulation on reverse characteristics of Wide Bandgap (WBG) SiC and GaN p-n junctions. The adjustment on certain physic-based model parameters, such as the trap density and photo-generation for SiC junction, and impact ionization coefficients and critical field for GaN junction are described. The adjusted parameters were used in Synopsys Medici simulation to obtain a realistic p-n junction avalanche breakdown voltage. The simulation results were verified through benchmarking against independent data reported by others.
The finite element simulation model and the program to calculate the reverse moment have been developed to analyse the stress state and deformation of pipe bending using local induction heating with small bending radius in this study. The reverse moment that is to be applied on the bending arm to control the wall thinning ratio of the bending outside to within a particular value. Even though the demand of pipes with small bending radius is increasing in power plants and ship buildings, the welded elbows are still widely used. The bending process with or without a reverse moment acting on the bending arm has been simulated. The reverse moments calculated from the developed program are in good agreement with the finite element simulations and the experiments.
A mathematical model was developed to simulate the performance of a prototype wind-powered reverse osmosis desalination system. The model consists of two sub-models operated in a series. The first sub-model is the wind-energy conversion sub-model, which has wind energy and feed water as its input and pressurized feed water as its output. The second sub-model is a reverse osmosis (RO) process sub-model, with pressurized feed water as its input and the flow and salinity of the product water or permeate as its output. Model coefficients were determined based on field experiments of a prototype wind powered RO desalination system of the University of Hawaii, from June to December 2001. The mathematical model developed by this study predicts the performance of wind-powered RO desalination systems under different design conditions. The system optimization is achieved using a linear programming approach. Based on the results of system optimization, a design guide is prepared, which can be used by both manufacturer and end-user of the wind-driven reverse osmosis system.
