The purpose of this study is to categorize the dimensions of the visual evaluation of the costume details of the retro romantic fashion and to research on the costume details and the visual evaluation by evaluators' gender, age, and major, and on their preferences. Quantitative research were conducted for this study. Based on the pictures, 10 costume details were selected for the survey questions and data were collected. All 446 subjects who participated in this research were college students(males and females) residing in or near Seoul. Data were collected in September, 2008. The collected data were statistically analyzed using SPSS which included: factor analysis, Cronbach's $\alpha$ reliability analysis, three-way ANOVA, two-way ANOVA, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range tests, and the t-test. The results of visual evaluation of retro romantic fashion are as follows: First, as a result of the factor analysis of the costume detail evaluation, five factors including attractiveness, decorativeness, cuteness, retro, and femininity surfaced. Second, the gender difference in the results of the research revealed that women rated decorative, cute, retro, and feminine characteristics higher than men did. Third, there were significant interactive effects in attractiveness and femininity depending on costume details and evaluators' gender. Fourth, subjects majoring in fashion valued attractiveness and femininity of the stimulus over non-fashion majoring subjects. Fifth, there were significant differences in the preferences of costume details depending on gender.

As a series of 'Performance Assessment of Building Envelopes I: Double Skin Facade', three types (interior, exterior, mixed (int.&ext.)) of lightshelves and RetroLux were examined in terms of $CO_2$ emissions. It is shown that the exterior lightshelf could achieve the most energy savings (9.6-38.7%) in general office buildings due to blocking solar radiation before entering the indoor space. However, the interior lightshelf is the worst (1.4-5.2%) among three of them. The RetroLux has two components: (1) sun-reflector (first louver component), (2) light shelf for improving daylight induction (second louver component). Due to these two components, solar radiation from windows is filtered depending on seasonal variation (solar altitude). Therefore, the RetroLux can reduce 18.0-27.9% of annual energy consumption (both cooling and heating), and $552-3,290Won/m^2{\cdot}yr$ of operation cost is saved.

If one can say that 'Retro' is a revived mode of the style, which was popular in the past, it is confirmed that various complex social and cultural factors have been reflected to making the current and new mode by accepting the past style. By investigating the impact of hippie style, which was popular during the Vietnam War on cosmetics and beauty culture, and the retro-tendency NEO-Hippie style fashion phenomenon appeared at around the time of the US and Iraq War, a theoretical foundation of cosmetics and beauty culture in the 2000s was established, and periodical circulation of fashion was tried to be understood. The 9.11 terrorists' attack and US-Iraq War devastated the heart of modern people, and for this, a retro trend having a meaning to revive the past style with nostalgia of the old things started to be handled with major interests in cosmetics and beauty culture. The retro-style, which is revived in the 2000s, is not the unchanging imitation mode in the '60s and '70s during the Vietnam War, but a newly transformed type of style.

재귀반사체(Retro Reflector)는 그 특별한 기능을 살려 도로 교통안전, 특수 블라인드, 광소자 resonator 등 다양한 분야에서 활용 영역이 넓어져 가고 있다. 특히 근래에는 '재귀반사구조체'를 창문의 차양 및 채광 구조물로서 도입하여 조명을 스마트화하는 경우도 제시되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는, 태양광 조절용 구조물로서, 띠구조를 1차원적으로 단순배열한 '주름판형-재귀반사체', St-RR(Strap type-Retro Reflector) 구조를 정의하고, 입사각도에 따라 그 반사광의 특성을 분석하였다. 또한, 이 특성 결과를 용이하게 파악할 수 있도록 시각화한 특성 도표를 고안하였고, 이를 이용하여 각종 태양광 조절 구조물을 보다 정량적으로 설계할 수 있음을 보였다.

This study was aimed at analyzing how the dualism of hippie style in the modern retro-fashion, namely, the neo hippie style and the hippie chic style were expressed. For this study, domestic & foreign fashion magazines, preceding theses, literatures, an encyclopedia, and Internet sites were reviewed. The results of this study could be summarized as follows; 1. Silhouette : The neo hippie style was expressed in slim and long silhouette to show the natural beauty. The hippie chic style was expressed in various silhouettes depending on designer's tastes. 2. Color : The neo hippie style was expressed in strong color and analogous color coordination to show richness of human nature. The hippie chic style was expressed in psychedelic color, multi-color, and fluorescent color to show an unconventional and a future oriented idea. 3. Material . The neo hippie style used such soft, thin, and flexible materials as chiffon, satin, silk, knit, etc. to show the natural beauty The hippie chic style used expensive and luxurious materials, high-technological materials, harmony of different materials, etc. 4. Pattern . In the neo hippie style, it was generally used various patterns including plant, animal, insect. In the hippie chic style, it was widely used the natural pattern as well as the ethnic pattern. The neo hippie style was characterized by the natural beauty, purity, elegance as style symbolizing the social problem, on the other hand, the hippie chic style was characterized by designer's identity suggesting an idea of new style rather than a symbol of the social problem.

Culture and society exist in the present, but they came from the past. So did clothing. As dressing is deeply based on culture pattern of the times, it is affected by various culture patterns and still keeps developing in modern times. This study is intended to examine the features of retro fashion on culture and dressing of the 19th century. The features of retro fashion on Neoclassical and Romantic culture and dressing are objection to the existing pattern, recursion to the past, and creativity characteristic of pattern of those days. Neoclassicism arose as it rejected Baroque and Rococo style, and imitated culture and artistic pattern of Greece and Rome. Romanticism objected to formal and universal pattern of Neoclassicism, and imitated Gothic style while recognizing historical facts and studying medieval times. Dressing in Neoclassicism did not accept exaggerated and luxurious Rococo pattern, and imitated simple, soft and straight silhouette of Greece and Rome and created its unique Empire Style. Romanticism imitated luxurious style of Renaissance, the Middle Ages, Baroque, and Rococo, different from simple and straight neoclassical style during the Bourbon restoration, and created its unique style. Thus, it is shown that retro fashion on Neoclassical and Romantic culture and dressing reflect the style of those days.

The recent surge in night walkers and pedestrian traffic accidents has led to an increased interest in retro-reflection-based products, leading to several studies on retro-reflection. Nonetheless, achieving high durability and dispersibility of retro-reflective glass beads in viscous polyurethane coating resin remains challenging. To address this issue, this study conduct to functionalize the surface of glass beads for covalent conjugation to coating resin to enhance their dispersibility and durability in the coating resin. The study evaluated the dispersibility, chemical composition, and retro-reflection properties of the functionalized glass beads and coating resin. The results showed that the functionalized glass beads conjugated to the polyurethane coating resin and exhibited excellent dispersibility, high durability, and maintained retro-reflection efficiency.

Fashion photographs from leading monthly fashion magazines in 1990s were analyzed. The types and the formative feature characteristics and the aesthetic values of domestic retrospective fashion were studied. The major conclusions of the study are as follows 1. The types of domestic retro fashion were historicism, ethnic, ecology. Retro fashion was expressed through applying and reappearing silhouette, detail. fabric and image of the costumes of the past. 2. Renaissance. Baroque, Rococo styles and the costumes and styles of 1960s and 1970s were mainly applied in domestic fashion. 3. Orientalism was emphasized and Korean traditional styles and Chinese costumes were expressed mainly in domestic fashion. Fashion trends recurrent and intimate to the nature were expressed in patterns, fabrics, dyeing and silhouettes of nature. 4. The formative feature characteristics of domestic retro fashion were recurrence, purity. tradition and decoration. As retro fashion applies costumes of the past newly, it supplies unlimited possibilities to the present fashion which seeks versatility.

Automatic Vision Inspection (AVI) systems automatically detect defect features and measure their sizes via camera vision. It has been populated because of the accuracy and consistency in terms of QC (Quality Control) of inspection processes. Also, it is important to predict the performance of an AVI to meet customer's specification in advance. AVI are usually suffered from false negative and positives. It can be overcome by providing extra information such as 3D depth information. Stereo vision processing has been popular for depth extraction of the 3D images from 2D images. However, stereo vision methods usually take long time to process. In this paper, retro optical system using reflectors is proposed and experimented to overcome the problem. The optical system extracts the depth without special SW processes. The vision sensor and optical components such as illumination and depth detecting module are integrated as a unit. The depth information can be extracted on real-time basis and utilized and can improve the performance of an AVI system.
