  • Due to the recent quantum leaps forward in bio-, nano-, and information-technologies (BT, NT and IT), the precisionization and miniaturization of mechanical and electrical components are in high demand. In particular, the ITrelated equipments that take a great part in our domestic industry are in the area requiring high precision technologies. As a consequence, the researches on the development vibration isolation systems that diminish external disturbance or internal vibration are highly required. Among the components comprising the vibration isolation system, air spring has become on a focal point for the researchers due to its merits. This air spring is able to support heavy loads, keep a low natural frequency despite of having a lower value of stiffness, and control the performance of vibration isolation. However, sometimes the sole use of air spring is in demand due to some economic reasons. Under this circumstance, the damping effect of sole air spring may not enough to reduce sufficient amount of vibration. In this study, the air spring mount system connecting with an external chamber is proposed to increase or control the damping effect. To investigate its damping mechanism, the thermal and dynamic behaviors of the system is examined through a theoretical modeling approach in this part of research. In this approach, thermomechanical and Helmholtz resonator type models are to be employed for the air spring/external chambers and connecting tube system, respectively. The frequency response functions (FRFs) derived from the modeling effort are evaluated with physical parametric values and the effects of connecting tube length on these FRFs are identified through computer simulations.

  • The thermoacoustic refrigerator has not only considerable possibility but also commercial usability, because it has high reliability, lower vibration, no moving part, and can easily be constructed. In order to determine the optimum resonant tube length and the frequency, the open-tube-type(3$\lambda$/4) and close- tube - type (2$\lambda$/2) thermoacoustic refrigerator were constructed. In third harmonic, the temperature difference of 3$\lambda$/4 refrigerator was $53^{\circ}C$(resonator length :400mm). In second harmonic, the temperature difference of 2$\lambda$/2 refrigerator was $51^{\circ}C$(resonator length :400mm).

  • Aperture has been employed on the ground plane in the Hairpin resonator. Aperture made by etching the part of the ground effected coupling coefficient and then quality factor of Hairpin resonator has been increased. When the hair pin oscillator using aperture has been compared with the conventional hair pin oscillator using microstrip, it has been improved the phase noise about 19dBc @100KHz. Oscillation frequency of the hair pin oscillator using aperture has been 5.83GHz band and output power is -4.33dBm.

  • A refractometric glucose biosensor incorporating a vertically coupled microring resonator in polymers was proposed and realized. The ring was covered with a target analyte of glucose solution with a certain concentration, so that its effective refractive index could be altered and, as a result, the resonance wavelength of the sensor was shifted. Therefore the concentration of the glucose solution can be estimated by observing the shift in the resonance wavelength. Two schemes were exploited for enhancing the sensitivity of the sensor. First, the effective refractive index of the polymeric waveguide used for the resonator sensor was adjusted to approach that of the target analyte as best as possible. Second, the ring waveguide, which serves as a crucial sensing part, was appropriately over-etched to enlarge its contact area with the analyte. The proposed resonator sensor was designed with the beam propagation method. The refractive indices of the core and cladding polymer involved were 1.430 and 1.375 respectively, leading to the waveguide's effective refractive index of ${\sim}1.390$, which is faiirly close to that of the glucose solution of ${\sim}1.333$. The prepared ring resonator with the $400-{\mu}m$ radius exhibited the free spectral range of 0.66 nm, the bandwidth of 0.15 nm, and the quality factor of 10,000. For the sensor operating at 1,550 nm wavelength, the achieved sensitivity was as great as 0.28 pm/(mg/dL), which is equivalent to 200 nm/RIU.

  • In this paper, we introduce the contactless power transmission device for transmitting the power with the resonant characteristic of the cavity resonator. When transmitting the power, the contactless power transmission device begins to work in the condition where the transceiver adheres closely. The transceiver is electrically separated because there is no conductive terminal outside and the size of the receiver required for the electric power transmission can be minimized. The cavity resonator comprises slots for the input port and output port in the upper side conductor plate of the cavity and forms the input port and output port using the stripline structure at this upper part. The some of output port is separated from it and the electric power receiver is formed thus the union can be possible. The rest except electric power receiver become the electric power transmitter, which includes the input port of stripline-slot coupling, cavity, and the slot of the output port. If the transmitter and the receiver are combined, they become the form in which the electricity is transferred from the input port to the output port in a cavity resonator. The center frequency of the contactless power transmitter manufactured is 5.782 GHz. and $S_{21}$ is measured as -1.07 dB. It is confirmed that the high electric power transfer rate is approximately 78 %.

  • Nowadays, the study on the ceramic components and modules using LTCC is being performed and on the passives included in modules is being done also. But the characteristics of passives changes in ceramic module due to the coupling between patterns, so each block in module must be analyzed in the state of module including coupling factors. In our research each block of VCO, resonator part, oscillator part, output part is measured and analyzed and that allows the prediction of behavior of VCO.

  • In this paper, sub-microwave oscillator sensor is proposed to non-invasively monitor the glucose concentration level of the human biological tissue by oscillation frequency variation. Inductive slot in the ground plane of the microstrip line is combined with the biological tissue, to realize the resonator as a part of the oscillator sensor. The phantom box mimicking the human tissue is introduced for simulation of the resonator which resonance frequency correspondingly shifts up on three step glucose concentration levels(0, 400, 800 mg/dL). Oscillator sensor circuit is fabricated as a prototype. Pig tissues instead of human is used. Oscillation frequency shift of about 14 MHz per glucose level of 400 mg/dL has been successfully measured around 1,100 MHz. This proves that the proposed sensor is applicable to a blood glucose sensor.
