The purpose of this study is to investigate the variation of resonance that is possible caused by construction of new port in a practical sea area between the existing port and the new one. The research of amplification that of the sea area was accomplished for the variation of resonance. In this study, long period wave that is observed continuously in the practical sea area was analyzed, and then secondary undulation was reproduced by numerical analysis. As a result of numerical analysis, the first mode resonant periods in the existing port is 640sec, and in the new one is 500sec. On the other hand, we know there is long period wave of 500sec from analyzation of field datas. Because that period this period is the resonant period in the new port. There is also the possibility of secondary undulation cause of resonant.

Long period waves were measured at two stations outside and inside Chukpyon Harbor using two pressure-type wave gauges for one week that covers storm sea period. Based on the collected data the characteristics of long-period resonant oscillations were analysed: the resonant period corresponding to the peak spectral density are slightly different from one to the component wave period with the largest amplification ratio, and the latter period is suggested as that of the first resonant mode. From the analysed field data and numerical modeling, the first resonant mode of Chukpyon Harbor region appeared to be around 12 minutes with amplification ratio of 7, whose amplitude varies 10-20 cm inside of the harbour, and also the second mode appeared to be around 6 minutes. The waves of 2-3 minute periods were resonated apparently in the harbour, which is considered to be generated from group-bounded irregular waves and non-linear wave-wave interaction etc. The linearly decreasing reflection coefficients used in the numerical modeling appeared to be an alternative in calculating reflected waves in harbor.

Three Pressure type wave gauges were installed for about 10 days for the analysis of long wave agitations in Mukho Harbor. Helmholtz and second resonant periods of seiche in Mukho Harbor are shown to be approximately 10.0-14.3 and 3.3 minutes from the spectral analysis of measured wave data. Amplification ratio at Helmholtz period reaches about 6.8 and the wave amplitudes in the harbor were in the range of 5-10 cm during the measurement period. Helmholtz and second resonant periods of seiche in Mukho Harbor agree very well with those computed using Jeong dt al. (1993b)'s model. The model gives rise to the first and third resonant peaks at 7.5 and 1.9 minutes, respectively.

In this study, numerical experiments were performed to decide the proper size off finite element for the analysis of harbor resonance problems. Various sizes of finite elements were considered from 1/3 to 1/60 of wavelength to model a fully opened rectangular harbor. Through the numerical results, the proper number of finite elements per wavelength were revealed to be nine within two percents errors allowed in resonant period and amplification ratio, while twelve within one percent error. It was fecund that error rates of resonant periods decrease linearly, while those of amplification ratio decrease with oscillating form as the size of an element decreases. The error of amplification ratio increases more rapidly than that of resonant period in case of element numbers below nine.
This paper presents an analysis of a 4th order LCLC resonant converter with a capacitive output filter using the state-space approach. The analysis of the converter shows that there are four intervals in a half period. In each interval, the state-space equations are obtained. Due to the soft switching of the converter, an exact equation for the Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) time and the maximum dead time of the inverter switches are presented. The simulation and experimental results obtained from a 10kv, 370w prototype confirm the validity of the theoretical analysis.

The application of A.C. motor to servo system is rapidly increased according to the recent advance of power electronics and digital control techniques. The induction motor which has a simple structure and needs less maintenance is used in the industrial field for the variable speed and position control recently. In this paper, the current characteristic of the full-bridge resonant inverter is studied by comparing with the computer simulation and the laboratory experiment when the ratio of forced frequency to the natural frequency and the ratio of conduction time to the period at the given frequency is changed. And then, the full-bridge resonant inverter is applied to the speed control of single phase induction motor.

Recent trends in high-power-density applications have highlighted the importance of designing power converters with high-frequency operation. However, conventional LLC resonant converters present limitations in terms of high-frequency driving due to switching losses during the turn-off period. Switching losses are caused by the overlap of the voltage and current during this period, and can be decreased by reducing the switch voltage. In turn, the switch voltage can be reduced through a series connection of four switches, and additional circuitry is essential for balancing the voltage of each switch. In this work, a three-level LLC resonant converter that can operate at high frequency is proposed by reducing switch losses and balancing the voltages of all switches with only one capacitor. The voltage-balancing principle of the proposed circuit can be extended to n-level converters, which further reduces the switch voltage stress. As a result, the proposed circuit is applicable to high-input applications. To confirm the validity of the proposed circuit, theoretical analysis and experimental verification results from a 350 W-rated prototype are presented.

Long-period wave oscillations in a harbor could create unacceptable vessel movements leading to the downtime of moored ships. It is practically very difficult to prevent long-period harbor oscillations, but extension of breakwaters at the harbor mouth could be a countermeasure in part. Narrowing a harbor mouth might give rise to increase in the energy loss due to flow separation near the mouth, which in turn makes resonant periods of the harbor become longer, especially for the first (or Helmholtz) resonant mode. (omitted)
This study used an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) dry etching process with a metal amplitude mask to fabricate a double-side notched long-period fiber grating (DNLPFG) for loading sensing. The DNLPFG exhibited increasing resonance attenuation loss for a particular wavelength when subjected to loading. When the DNLPFG was subjected to force loading, the transmission spectra were changed, showing a with wavelength shift and resonance attenuation loss. The experimental results showed that the resonant dip of the DNLPFG increased with increasing loading. The maximum resonant dip of the $40-{\mu}m$ DNLPFG sensor was -26.522 dB under 0.049-N loading, and the largest force sensitivity was -436.664 dB/N. The results demonstrate that the proposed DNLPFG has potential for force sensing applications.
Recently, the earth scale disaster is occurring frequently. Under the effects of global warming, the weather has become unseasonable worldwide. Hence, the earth is experiencing unstable condition with many disasters such as storms and flood damages as well as earthquake. Therefore, it is necessary to consider what we am do to prevent disasters. Consequently, recent warnings indicate that there is a potential risk of massive earthquakes. Consideration of the effects of tsunami to the moored ship is very important. Operational problems such as moored ship motions sometimes become remarkable with large amplitude and long periods in harbor. Moored ship motions may cause the breakage of mooring systems such as mooring lines, fenders or quay. Large and long period moored ship motions are caused by resonant effects. In this paper, the moored ship motions within a harbor by the large-scale tsunami and the effects on the motions and mooring loads with resonant effects are investigated by numerical simulations.
