LC 직렬 공진을 이용한 양방향 DC/DC 컨버터 (A LC series resonant bidirectional DC/DC converter)

  • In this paper, bi-directional DC/DC converter using a LC series resonant converter is proposed. A proposed converter is consisted by adding LC series resonant tank into a conventional bi-directional DC/DC converter and performs soft-switching at both boost and buck mode. A LC series resonance occurs in whole operation mode and switching point is determined by specific condition. Through the theoretical analysis and simulation results, operation modes and characteristics of the proposed topology is verified.

CNG 연료탱크의 내압상승시 발생하는 음향방출 변수들의 분포 (Distribution of Acoustic Emission Parameters during Load Holding for CNG Vehicle Fuel Tank)

  • This is a study on the distribution of acoustic emission parameters during a burst test for a type-II CNG vehicle fuel tank. A resonant AE sensor with a central frequency of 150 kHz was attached to the composite materials in the center of the fuel tank. The pressure was increased from 30 to 100% of the expected burst pressure and was maintained for 10 minutes at each level. Damage at 70% of expected burst pressure occurred by various damage mechanisms including fiber breakage and delamination, while that of below 60% only occurred by matrix crack initiation and growth. The count, duration and rise time of the AE signal at 60% of the expected burst pressure are distributed below 500, 5000 ${\mu}s$ and 300 ${\mu}s$, respectively. Then, at above 70% they increased with pressure by superimposing of individual AE signal generated at a nearby place. These results confirmed that the analysis of the distribution of AE parameters is an effective tool for estimating damage of a CNG fuel tank.

  • 본 연구는 자동차용 CNG 연료탱크의 파열시험시 발생하는 음향방출변수의 분석에 관한 내용이다. 연료탱크의 복합재료 중앙부 표면에 150kHz 공진형 AE센서를 부착하여 파열시험시 발생하는 음향방출 신호를 획득하고, 가압유지시간 동안의 hit, amplitude, count, duration, risetime, signal strength 등과 같은 음향방출 변수들을 분석하였다. 음향방출 변수 중 total count, total signal strength가 연료탱크 손상정도를 평가하는데 유용한 변수임을 알 수 있었다.

  • The vehicle system is exposed to random source in service. Therefore, it is important to consider dynamic effect of the system. But, fatigue analysis is traditionally performed by using time signal of loading. To obtain dynamic effect of resonance, we carried out resonance durability analysis with frequency response and the dynamic load on frequency domain. The study shows that the damage considering resonant frequency of fuel tank system can be effectively estimated.

투과성 격벽을 이용한 수평 운동하는 사각형 탱크내의 슬로싱 감쇠 (Sloshing Damping in a Swaying Rectangular Tank Using a Porous Bulkhead)

  • The performance of a porous swash bulkhead for the reduction of the resonant liquid motion in a swaying rectangular tank was investigated based on the assumption of linear potential theory. The Galerkin method (Porter and Evans, 1995) was used to solve the potential flow model by adding a viscous frictional damping term to the free-surface condition. By comparing the experimental results and the analytical solutions, we verified that the frictional damping coefficient was 0.4. Darcy's law was used to consider the energy dissipation at a porous bulkhead. The tool that was developed with a built-in frictional damping coefficient of 0.4 was confirmed by small-scale experiments. Using this tool, the free-surface elevation, hydrodynamic force (added mass, damping coefficient) on a wall, and the horizontal load on a bulkhead were assessed for various combinations of porosity and submergence depth. It was found that the vertical porous bulkhead can suppress sloshing motions significantly when properly designed and by selecting the appropriate porosity(${\approx}0.1$) and submergence depth.

  • 태양전지는 미래에너지를 위한 중요한 신재생에너지원이다. 본 논문에서는 태양광 발전 (PV PCS)를 위한 2단구성 DC/DC컨버터와 동작제어를 제안한다. 넓은 입력전압 제어범위를 갖는 제안된 DC/DC컨버터는 1차 병렬 2차 직렬로 연결된 Two Tank LLC공진컨버터와 Interleaved 승압 컨버터로 구성되어있고, 태양광모듈 전압범위에 따라 하나의 시스템 또는 두 개의 시스템으로 동작시켜 전체 평균효율을 증가시키는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 컨버터에 대한 동작특성에 대해 분석, 서술되어 있으며, 2.2kW급 시제품 제작 및 실험을 통하여 적용 가능함을 보였다.

A Protection Circuit for the Power Supply of a Gas Discharge Lamp

  • In order to drive gas discharge lamps, DC-AC converters with a LCC resonant tank, whose output voltage is adjusted by a variable frequency control are frequently used. However, when they are activated by varying the operating frequency, converters are frequently damaged by unstable operation, due to the rising and falling of the operating frequency near the resonant frequency. To solve this problem, a simple protection circuit for the power supply of a gas discharge lamp is proposed in this paper. This circuit senses the primary current of the main transformer. Using this protection circuit, the operating frequency of the lamp driving inverter system is kept close to and on the right side of the resonant frequency and the inverter is always operated in the ZVS condition. The resulting stable variable frequency operation allows various gas discharge lamps to be tested without the risk of damaging the main switches, because the protection circuit can protect the power MOSFETs of bridge converters from abnormal conditions. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed protection circuit are verified through the experimental results.

양극성 DC 배전 시스템 적용을 위한 결합 인덕터 기반의 전압 밸런싱 이중 출력 CLL 공진형 컨버터 (Coupled Inductor Based Voltage Balancing in Dual-Output CLL Resonant Converter for Bipolar DC Distribution System)

  • A bipolar DC distribution system suffers from an imbalance in voltages when asymmetric loads are connected at the outputs. Dedicated voltage balancers are required to address the imbalance in bipolar voltage levels. However, additional components eventually increase the cost and decrease the efficiency and power density of the system. Therefore, to deal with the imbalance in output voltages without adding any extra components, this study presents a coupled inductor-based voltage balancing technique with a dual-output CLL resonant converter. The proposed coupled inductor does not require extra magnetic components to balance the output voltages because it is the result of resonant inductors of the CLL tank circuit. It can also avoid complex control schemes applied to voltage balancing. Moreover, with the proposed coupled inductor, the CLL converter acquires good features including zero voltage and zero current switching. Detailed analysis of the proposed coupled inductor is presented with different load conditions. A 3.6-kW hardware prototype was built and tested to validate the performance of the proposed coupled inductor-based voltage balancing technique.

광대역 탐촉자를 이용한 자동차용 CNG 탱크의 음향방출 신호 분석 (Analysis of Acoustic Emission Signal for Vehicle CNG Tank Using Wideband Transducer)

  • 본 연구에서는 광대역(100 kHz - 1 MHz) 탐촉자를 사용하여 자동차용 CNG연료탱크의 파열시험시 발생하는 음향방출신호의 분석을 통해 압력용기의 손상정도를 평가하였다. 압력이 420 bar까지 올라가기 전의 각 단계에서는 Kaiser 효과가 나타나고 creep 효과가 거의 나타나지 않으나, 420 bar 이상 상승시 creep 효과가 현저히 나타남으로써 용기가 손상을 입었다는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 480 bar 압력 상승 단계에서는 Kaiser 효과가 없어졌다. 540 bar의 압력 단계에서 공진형 탐촉자의 경우에서는 480 bar의 압력단계에 비하여 energy나 count 같은 activity가 감소하였으나 광대역 탐촉자의 경우 계속적으로 증가하였다. 또한 rise time이나 주파수 분석을 통해서 복합재료 압력용기의 손상 메카니즘을 관찰하기 위해서는 일반적으로 금속압력용기에서 많이 사용되는 공진형 탐촉자(150 kHz)보다 광대역 탐촉자가 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper described the outputs of acoustic sensors due to the vibration of particles in the mock up GIS. We used the two type of acoustic sensors which had 150kHz resonant frequency and 60kHz resonant frequency respectively. In the experiment of the mock up GIS, we paid attention to the magnitude and attenuation of sensor outputs due to particles. In this results the output of each sensor in frequency characteristic depended on the material of GIS tank and the output of sensor in magnitude characteristics depended on the size of particles and dropping height.
