Gateway Discovery Algorithm Based on Multiple QoS Path Parameters Between Mobile Node and Gateway Node

  • Several gateway selection schemes have been proposed that select gateway nodes based on a single Quality of Service (QoS) path parameter, for instance path availability period, link capacity or end-to-end delay, etc. or on multiple non-QoS parameters, for instance the combination of gateway node speed, residual energy, and number of hops, for Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs). Each scheme just focuses on the ment of improve only a single network performance, i.e., network throughput, packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay, or packet drop ratio. However, none of these schemes improves the overall network performance because they focus on a single QoS path parameter or on set of non-QoS parameters. To improve the overall network performance, it is necessary to select a gateway with stable path, a path with themaximum residual load capacity and the minimum latency. In this paper, we propose a gateway selection scheme that considers multiple QoS path parameters such as path availability period, available capacity and latency, to select a potential gateway node. We improve the path availability computation accuracy, we introduce a feedback system to updated path dynamics to the traffic source node and we propose an efficient method to propagate QoS parameters in our scheme. Computer simulations show that our gateway selection scheme improves throughput and packet delivery ratio with less per node energy consumption. It also improves the end-to-end delay compared to single QoS path parameter gateway selection schemes. In addition, we simulate the proposed scheme by considering weighting factors to gateway selection parameters and results show that the weighting factors improve the throughput and end-to-end delay compared to the conventional schemes.

철강구조물 부재의 강도평가 및 피로균열진전거동 (The behaviour of strength and fatigue crack propagation of various steels in steel bridges)

  • The residual safety assessment of steel structures, an important subject in practice, is given to much attention. Life prediction in the planning course of steel structures under fatigue loading is mainly based on fatigue design criteria resulting from S-N curves. But for any reason cracks have to be assumed due to fabrication failures or fatigue loading in service which can lead total fracture of structures. The life prediction can be carried out by means of fracture mechanics using Paris-Erdogan equation($da/dN=C {\cdot}{\Delta}K^m$). The paper presents results from charpy test to interpret transition behaviour of charpy energy($A_V$) in a wide temperature range and from constant-load-amplitude test to measure fatigue crack growth of various steels widely used in steel bridges since beginning of 20 centuries in Europe. In the normal service temperature range of steel bridges, the steel S355M shows higher maximum charpy energy($A_{Vmax}$) and lower transition temperature($T_{AVmax/2}$) than other steels considered. The C and m of Paris-Erdogan equation on the steels appear to be correlated, and to be affected by the R-ratios due to crack closure, especially at a low fatigue crack growth rate. Scanning electron microscopy analysis was carried out to interpret an influence of the crack closure effects on the correlation of C and m.

QAM 신호에서 mDSE-MMA 적응 등화 알고리즘의 성능 평가 (A Performance Evaluation of mDSE-MMA Adaptive Equalization Algorithm in QAM Signal)

  • 본 논문은 QAM 신호 전송시 부가 잡음, 부호간 간섭 및 페이딩등 비선형 통신 채널에서 발생되는 찌그러짐을 줄일 수 있는 mDSE-MMA (modified Dithered Signed Error-MMA) 적응 등화 알고리즘의 성능 평가에 관한 것이다. DSE-MMA 적응 등화 알고리즘은 기존 MMA의 연산량을 줄일 수 있지만, 이로 인하여 등화 성능의 열화되는 문제점이 있다. 이런 DSE-MMA의 성능 열화를 개선하기 위하여 mDSE-MMA는 적응을 위한 스텝 크기를 등화기의 출력이 송신 신호점을 중심으로 임의 반경내의 존재 여부에 따라 조절하게 된다. 제안 mDSE-MMA 알고리즘의 성능을 기존 DSE-MMA 알고리즘의 성능 평가를 위하여 동일한 채널과 잡음 환경하에서 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며, 이를 위한 지수로는 수신측에서의 등화기 출력 신호인 복원된 신호 성상도, 수렴 성능을 나타내는 잔류 isi, MD 및 MSE learning 곡선과 SER을 사용하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 모든 성능 지수에서 mDSE-MMA가 DSE-MMA 보다 우월함을 확인하였다.

영구자석을 적용한 선박용 곡면 철판 이송용 유압식 마그네틱 클램프 이송장치의 성능평가에 대한 고찰 (Performance Evaluation of Hydraulic and Magnetic Clamp Crane for Transporting Curved Steel Plate for Shipbuilding, with Permanent Magnet Applied)

  • As a new technical approach, a hydraulic and magnetic clamp device was developed to realize a magnetic clamp crane system by simultaneously actuating eight individual hydraulic cylinders. In this approach, an Sr-type of ferritic permanent magnet (SrO· 6Fe2O3), rather than the previous electromagnet, was utilized for the purpose of lifting and transporting the large curved steel plates used for manufacturing ships. This study had the goal of developing and manufacturing a hydraulic, magnetic clamp prototype composed of three main parts, including the base frame, cylinder joint, and magnet joint, in order to safely transport curved steel plates. Furthermore, this research included a performance evaluation of the manufactured prototype and acquired the purposed quantity value in the performance test. The most significant item, the magnetic adhesive force (G), was evaluated in a performance test, which utilized a ferritic permanent magnet (Sr type) with 3700~4000 G of residual induction (Br) and 2640/2770 Oe of coercive force (Hc). In particular, relevant items such as the hoist tension (kN), transportation time (s), and applied load (Kgf) on the hydraulic cylinders were also evaluated in order to determine the optimum values.

Correlation Between Mechanical Behavior and Electrical Resistance Change in Carbon Particle Dispersed Plastic Composite

  • Mechanical behavior and electrical resistance change of CPDP (carbon particle dispersed plastic) composite consisting of epoxy resin and conductive carbon particle were investigated under monotonic loading and repeated loading-unloading. The electrical resistance almost linearly increased with increasing strain during loading and the residual electrical resistance was observed even after removing load. The value of the residual electrical resistance was dependent on the maximum strain under the applied stress. This result suggests that the estimation of maximum strain (i.e., damage) is possible by the measuring electrical resistance of composite. The behavior of electrical resistance change during and after loading was discussed on the basis of the results of microscopic deformation and fracture observation. Moreover, the relationship between the volume fraction of carbon particle and the electrical resistivity of CPDP was investigated in relation to the percolation theory. Simulation model of percolation structure was established by Monte Carlo method and the simulation result was compared to the experimental results. The electrical resistance change under applied loading was analyzed quantitatively using the percolation equation and a simple model for the critical volume fraction of carbon particle as a function of the mechanical stress. It was revealed that the prediction was in good agreement with the experimental result except in the region near the failure of material.

  • Damage induced by low velocity impact loading in aircraft composite laminates is the form of failure which is occurred frequently in aircraft. Low velocity impact can be caused either by maintenance accidents with tool drops or by in-flight impacts with debris. As the consequences of impact loading in composite laminates, matrix cracking, delamination and eventually fiber breakage for higher impact energies can be occurred. Even when no visible impact damage is observed, damage can exist inside of composite laminates and the carrying load of the composite laminates is considerably reduced. The reduction of strength and stiffness by impact loading occurs in compressive loading due to laminate buckling in the delaminated areas. The objective of this study is to determine inside damage of composite laminates by impact loading and to determine residual compressive strength and the damage growth mechanisms of impacted composite laminates. For this purpose a series of impact and compression after impact tests are carried out on composite laminates made of carbon fiber reinforced epoxy resin matrix with lay up pattern of $[({\pm}45)(0/90)_2]s$ and $[({\pm}45)(0)_3(90)(0)_3({\pm}45)]$. UT-C scan is used to determine impact damage characteristics and CAI(Compression After Impact) tests are carried out to evaluate quantitatively reduction of compressive strength by impact loading.

2002년 하계 마산만의 수질개선을 위한 환경용량산정 모델링 (The Ecological Modeling for Estimation of Carrying Capacity in Masan Bay in 2002 summer)

  • 본 연구는 마산만에서 육상기원 오염부하와 퇴적물로부터의 부하에 의한 해수 수질의 응답특성과 환경용량을 2002년 하계의 관측 자료를 바탕으로, 생태계 모델링을 이용하여 산정하였다. 만 내측의 잔차류는 0.1~1.5cm/s의 크기로 비교적 현상과 유사하게 재현되었는데, 표층에서는 잔차류가 남향으로 저층에서는 북향류를 이루고 있어서, 육상으로부터 유입된 오염물질이 쉽게 만 외부로 빠져나가는 것이 힘들다. 모델링결과 COD 분포는 육상오염부하가 큰 만 내측에서 3 mg/L이상의 높은 값을 나타내고 있다. 목표수질 해역 I등급(COD 1 mg/L)을 달성하기 위한 오염원별 삭감 부하량은 유기물(COD)과 영양염을 80%이상 삭감해야하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 해역 II등급(COD 2 mg/L)을 달성하기 위한 오염원별 삭감 부하량은 유기물(COD)과 영양염을 50%이상 삭감하여야 하는 것으로 나타났다. 각각의 경우 COD의 환경용량은 2.32 ton/day와 7.16 ton/day로 나타났다.

지대치 유도면의 기울기에 따른 응력 분포에 대한 연구 (A STUDY OF THE STRESS DISTRIBUTION ACCORDING TO THE SLOPES OF THE CHIDING PLANES OF THE ABUTMENTS)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of load on root that was applied to edentulous area in three simulated situation, in each case the guiding planes of abutment were right vertical, 95 degrees, or 100 degrees to residual ridge. The 2-dimensional finite element method was used and the finite element model was prepared as fellows. Right mandibular 1st and 2nd molar was lost and the 2nd premolar with distal rest was used as primary abutment which had three different degrees of guiding plane. Then 150N of compressive force was applied to central fossae of the 1st and 2nd molars and von Mises stress and displacement was measured. The results were as follows; 1. Irrespective of slopes of guiding planes, the stress was concentrated on mesial side of root apex and distal side of coronal portion of root, in particular on junction with distal alveolar bone. As slopes of guiding planes were increased. stress on root and compact bone surrounding abutment was increased but no considerable effect was seen on compact bone of residual ridge. 2. Distal side of coronal portion of root limited by periodontal ligament was displaced distally and mesial side of apical portion was mesially. With slope of guiding plane increasing, the pattern of displacement was similar with one another but the quantity was increased. 3. Both abutment & alveolar bone were displaced downward and root of abutment, especially distal side of coronal portion, was displaced severely. As the guiding plane was tiffed more mesially over $90^{\circ}$, the degree of displacement was also increased.

  • 최 등/sup 1)/은 total lagrangian formulation에 근거한 증분 평형방정식을 적용하고, 강도행렬 산정시 회전각의 2차항을 포함시켜 기하학적 비선형 해석시 해의 수렴성을 향상시켰다. 또한 등매개 쉘 유한요소의 단점인 전단구속 현상과 제로 에너지 모드가 발생하는 문제를 극복하기 위하여 가정 변형률장을 적용하여 보강된 판 및 쉘 구조의 비선형 해석법을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서는 잔류응력을 고려한 쉘구조의 극한강도 해석을 수행하기 위하여, 대변형거동과 함께 소성붕괴거동을 추적할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제시한다. 잔류응력을 고려한 증분평형방정식에 return mapping algorithm을 이용한 탄소성 해석법을 결합시켜서 보강된 판 및 쉘구조의 극한거동을 파악한다. 수치해석 예제를 통하여 본 연구에서 제시된 유한요소 및 비선형 해석 알고리즘에 대한 효율성 및 적용성을 확인하였다.

생태계모델을 이용한 가막만 해역의 환경용량 산정 (The Estimation of Environmental Capacity in the Gamak Bay Using an Eco-hydrodynamic Model)

  • The eco-hydrodynamic model was used to estimate the environmental capacity in Gamak Bay. It is composed of the three-dimensional hydrodynamic model for the simulation of water flow and ecosystem model for the simulation of phytoplankton. As the results of three-dimensional hydrodynamic simulation, the computed tidal currents are toward the inner part of bay through Yeosu Harbor and the southern mouth of the bay during the flood tide, and being in the opposite direction during the ebb tide. The computed residual currents were dominated southward flow at Yeosu Harbor and sea flow at mouth of bay, The comparison between the simulated and observed tidal ellipses at three station showed fairly good agreement. The distributions of COD in the Gamak bay were simulated and reproduced by an ecosystem model. The simulated results of COD were fairly good coincided with the observed values within relative error of 1.93%, correlation coefficient(r) of 0.88. In order to estimate the environmental capacity in Gamak bay, the simulations were performed by controlling quantitatively the pollution loads with an ecosystem model. In case the pollution loads including streams become 10 times as high as the present loads, the results showed the concentration of COD to be $1.33{\sim}4.74mg/{\ell}(mean\;2.28mg/{\ell})$, which is the third class criterion of Korean standards for marine water quality In case the pollution loads including streams become 30 times as high as the present loads, the results showed the concentration of COD to be $1.38{\sim}7.87mg/{\ell}(mean\;2.97mg/{\ell})$, which is the third class criterion of Korean standards for marine water quality. In case the pollution loads including streams become 50 times as high as the present loads, the results showed the concentration of COD to be $1.44{\sim}9.80mg/{\ell}(mean\;3.56mg/{\ell})$, which is the third class criterion of Korean standards for marine water quality.
