This study held human measurement for 200 male subjects in their twenties in full age living in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province in China. Their lower body types were classified and grouped according to shapes and sizes. Consequently, representative body type reflecting shapes, sizes, and characteristics were chosen and presented with their measurement values to be used as the basic data for slacks pattern making and fitness evaluation. The following are the results of the analysis: 1. Homogeneity analysis was given to determine the correspondence relationships among index types, indirect types, and size types. Index Type 1 (H-Round), Indirect Type 2 (Adjacent Straight Legs & Slight Slant of Lateral Lower Body), and Size Type 1 (Medium-Thick) were correlated; Index Type 2 (A-Trapezoid), Indirect Type 1 (Bow Legs & Slight Slant of Lateral Lower Body), and Size Type 3 (Small-Slim) were corresponded; Index Type 3 (A-Balance), Indirect Type 3 (Balance Legs & Large Slant of Lateral Lower Body), and Size Type 2 (Tall-Normal) were mutually related. 2. Mahalanobis distance based on each shape factor (index or indirect) and size factor (absolute) was obtained, while an index-absolute representative body type group (47 people, 24.4%) and an indirect-absolute representative body type group (45 people, 23.7%) were chosen, each reflecting shapes, sizes, and characteristics. 3. The representative body type group of lower body shapes of Chinese males in their 20s had average measurement values, such as 169.15cm (stature), 73.32cm (waist circumference), 75.76cm (omphalion waist circumference), 91.08cm (hip circumference), 106.02cm (outside leg length), 53.96cm (thigh circumference), and 74.42cm (crotch length).
In this research, a representative type of the housing plan was extracted on the basis of elements that exert the influence on the discrimination of the plan type, in other words, plan composition. Firstly, 'connection type of the room' and 'composition type of LDK (living room, dining room and kitchen)' were selected as elements of the plan type. Secondly, three forms of 'connection type of the room' became clear namely 'middle corridor type', 'living room centered type' and 'entrance hall type', as the factors that discriminate plan composition specifically. Thirdly, 'LD/K type' and 'L/D/K type' were confirmed as the factors in 'composition type of LDK'. Finally, four combinations of plan type, such as 'living room centered type-LD/K type', 'middle corridor type-LD/K type', 'living room centered type-L/D/K type' and 'entrance hall type-LD/K type' were confirmed as the representative types. These four combinations are the representative plan types of the urban LDK houses in Japan.

With rapid expansion in e-retailing of apparel business, personalized fitting model service shows the possibility as the differentiated marketing strategy in cyber shopping. According as necessity of personalized fitting model construction rises, it is tried personalized fitting model creation in several fields such as computer engineering, mechanical engineering, information engineering. But, because existent study was concentrated only on human body modeling, it does not reflect average morphological characteristics of human body properly. In this study, we wish to examine if morphing is fit for expressing characteristic of average human body shape and suggest desirable morphing. We used 3-D scan data of 254 Korean middle aged men collected by Size Korea 2004. The result of this study are as follows: Lower body types were categorized by height hip girth and lower drop(hip girth-navel girth) which were main factors of lower body shape. Then each factor was divided into 3 groups respectively, 30% in the middle, over 30%, under 30%. In 27 groups, the group which belonged to 30% in the middle of height, 30% in the middle of hip girth, 30% in the middle of lower drop was selected as a representative group. We tested geometrical figure by differ volume, tilt, position of point. And we created a representative type of men's lower bodies by morphing the representative group and analyzed it's horizontal, vertical sections. A representative type which was created by morphing reflected a real body and changed realistically at the part of hip, crotch, calf muscle and so on. A cross sections of a representative type were similar to average cross sections of the representative group in size and shape. So it was proved that morphing was successful.
The VOC, which were detected from the newly built house, exist as a certain number of types according to the characteristics of the change of VOC concentration indoors. In this paper, we aim to divide the VOC into types so that those with similar characteristics of the transition of their concentration are in the same group and select the representative compound according to each classified type, and to verify these processes statistically in order to verify and propose new method creating the representing index of the VOC concentration in indoor which is used in evaluation of the degree of air pollution. As a result, the characteristic of the change of VOC concentration in the indoor can be divided into three types. Type1; the group in which the concentration is relatively high right after the completion of the house, and then decreases rapidly. Type2; the group in which the concentration is relatively low right after the completion of the house, and then although it shows the tendency of increasing and decreasing repeatedly, it decreases overall. Type3 is the group, which show only one peak at a certain time during the measuring period. As the method like this was verified to have the statistical significance, the Ethylbenzene was selected as the representative compound of type1, and Styrene was selected as that of type2. Moreover, if considering transition of the VOC from the point of similarity, the research method of making the classification and the selection of the representative compound in this study are said to be significant method.
This study makes three apartment building complex an object of analyzing representative building types and energy consumption rate of house holds, and effect of outdoor air cooling. Recently created apatrment complex is composed of very various types of building, plan, and orientation etc. But, it is difficult to remark conclusively that these various types of buildings are designed energy-effectively. Because architects are hard to find useful energy design guideline for decision making. By the preceding study, the present condition and problem about this subject is grasped, apartment building types were examined and representative types were extracted. In this study, energy simulation was conducted, and the effect to outdoor air cooling was analyzed about representative types of the subject apartment complex. It is expected that this analysed results will be basic data for the more integrated study. Research consequence can be summarized as follow: 1) Besides solar gain, household layout of building, orientation, and plan etc. effects compositively on energy consumption rate. 2) The effect of ourdoor air cooling in building of tower type can be improved by arranging households appropriately.

In this study, crash situations of representative bus crash types were elicited by analyzing a total of 1,416 bus repair record which were collected in 2018~2019. K-means clustering was used as a methodology for this study. Bus repair record contain the information of repair term, type of bus operation, responsibility of accident, weather condition, road surface condition, type of accident, other party, type of road and type of location for each data. Also, by checking collision parts of each bus repair record, each record was classified by types of collision regions. From this, 760 record are classified to frontal type, 363 record are classified to middle-frontal type, 374 record are classified to middle-rear type and 331 record are classified to rear type. As mentioned, k-means clustering was performed on each type of collision parts. As a result, this study analyzed the severity of bus crash based on actual bus accident data which are based on bus repair record not the crash data from the TAAS. Also, this study presented crash situation of representative bus crash types. It is expected that this study can be expanded to analyzing hydrogen bus crash and defining indicators of hydrogen bus safety.
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of two representative subway map design types, namely a diagram type and a geographical type using physiological metrics, performance metrics, and self-reported metrics, which are representative usability metrics. Background: Subway maps need to be designed in order for users to quickly search and recognize subway line information. Although most cities' subway maps currently use the diagram type designed by Henry Beck, New York City's subway map has recently been changed to the subway map type combined with the geographical type designed by Michael Hertz. However, not many studies on its efficiency are found, and the studies that are available mainly depend on questionnaire surveys or take on a subjective behavioral study type based on experts' experiences. In this regard, evaluation through a more objective method is needed. Method: This study employed usability metrics as a method to evaluate the efficiency of information search targeting the diagram type and geographical type subway maps used mostly as subway maps. To this end, physiological metrics obtained through eye tracking, task completion time, representative metric of task performance, and subjective evaluation metrics were used for the suitability evaluation of subway map designs. Results: In the result of gaze movement distance analysis, no significant difference was shown in the two design types in terms of a process finding a departure station from the starting point and a process finding a transfer station between the departure station and arrival station (destination). However, the gaze movement distance in the process finding the arrival station at the departure station was significantly shorter in the geographical type, rather than in the diagram type. The analysis of task completion time showed a result similar to the gaze movement distance analysis result. Task completion time was significantly shorter in the geographical type, rather than in the diagram type, which is in the process finding the arrival station at the departure station. In other information search processes, no significant difference was shown. As a result of subjective evaluation metrics analysis, no significant difference was revealed in the two design types. Conclusion: An analysis on the two representative subway map design types was carried out via the adoption of usability metrics. As a result, although no significant difference was shown in some information search processes, it was revealed that information search was easier in the geographical type overall. Also, it was found that usability metrics can be effectively used to evaluate the design types of subway maps. Application: The study results can be used to set design direction to offer ease in information search on subway lines. The study also can be used as a method to evaluate a subway map's design type.
As the damages due to natural disasters continue to increase, a growing interest is being witnessed in such studies that focus on preventive measures to reduce damages rather than on their recovery. As such, the U.S. has been actively conducting projects to develop new models that can forecast potential damages due to natural disasters and widely employing them in actual cases. With no specific models developed in Korea yet, this study aimed to introduce an overseas typhoon model as part of the advanced efforts and apply it the actual cases occurring across the nation. This model estimates wind loads by measuring the impact of a strong wind upon buildings, and measurements require a number of parameters. Those parameters should include the types and dimensions of buildings and the type of the roofs. As for the FPHLM(Florida Public Hurricane Loss Model), a precedent model for our study, we were able to take advantage of number of the statistics and detailed categorizations on the residential buildings in the U.S., which enabled us to select the representative building types and produce their wind loads. With no sufficient relevant statistics available for the nation, however, we may not be able to readily measure the wind loads on the nation's residential buildings. Therefore, this study tried to choose the representative types, heights and dimensions of the buildings for the measurement of wind loads. We consequently came up with a representative house having an area between 62.81 and $95.56m^2$, either a flat roof or hip roof, a height of 2.6 m, an side ratio of 1.5, and the width and length of the mean $85m^2$ sized house being 11,300 mm and 7,530 mm, respectively.

Recently Korea has presented carbon emission reduce goal of 37% compare to BAU until 2030 according to Paris Agreement in order to correspond to climate change. For this, researchers need to study positively on construction industry that emit $CO_2$ of $3^{rd}$ volume of 28 industry classification. This study calculated environmental load by LCA using the road part except tunnel and bridge among national road cases completed already. After selecting representative type of large construction type based on environmental emission, earth works, drainage works and paving works took up 84%. And this study analyzed the environmental emission feature of each detail construction type after selecting representative type each detail construction type. Utilization of each construction type emission attribute to environmental load during national road construction, will be helpful in making decision of eco-friendly national road construction based on environmental emission.

Recently, many studies have been conducted to utilize the digital aerial photogrammetry method in the field of cadastral surveying. The representative models of digital cameras currently used for aerial photogrammetry are classified into line-type and convex-type cameras, so the representative models were selected and analyzed. The purpose of this study was to analyze whether the accuracy suggested by the cadastral survey enforcement rules was satisfied by comparing the orthogonal and ortho image performance. As a result, there were some representative false points that exceeded the acceptable range, but the results extracted from most of the images were shown to satisfy the acceptable range. Therefore, it can be said that the application of digital aerial photogrammetry to the cadastral field in the technical aspect has sufficient potential.
