세일링요트 개발을 위한 20세기초 전통 어선의 선형연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Traditional Korean Fishing Boats for Development of a Sailing Boat)

  • A Study of the traditional Korean fishing boat is based on a report on an investigation of the Korean fishing boats, conducted in 1921. The report was completed in 1927 with the conclusion of the Southern Sea region and West Sea region studies, which included the investigation oj the entire region. It was a very thorough and scientific investigation of Korean fishing boats, which has been published in three volumes. Based on this report, this paper surveys the characteristics and the hull form of the traditional Korean fishing boats. As a result, we find ${\cdot}out$ that the hull form of the traditional Korean fishing boat is very similar to that of modern sailing boat. Thus, it is a good candidate for the development of the modern sailing boats for the Korean Sea.

표민대화(漂民對話)의 조선학적 고찰(표류선박(漂流船舶)의 선형(船型) 추정(推定)) (The Naval Architectural Examination on "Pyomindaehwa" (Presumption of the Type of Drifting Ship))

  • Pyomindaehwa is a study book written in Korean and it takes a form of an investigation document made up of a conversation between Chosen's castaways and an interpreter taking place in Naesirogawa and Satsuma on the south end of Kyushu, Japan in the 19th century. This book is in three volumes. Many terminologies such as timber parts, sail, rigging and equipment have been shown in the last volume, which is mainly about a repairing process of drifting ship. Especially, timber parts' terminologies including hull's term were schematized in Kumamoto Text(1854b). This study have attempted to find out Naval architectural clues helping estimate actual drifting ship's type and bulk on the evidence of the contents. Based on the studies, it is possible to presume the type of Korean boats and ships, which are similar with the ones from database of 21 traditional fishing boats in the report on Investigation of Korean fishing boats studied previously. This paper has shown the logical process of presumption of types of boats.

세일링보트 개발을 위한 한선선형 연구 (A Study on the HANSUN Boat Type for Development of Sailing Boat)

  • The Study of Hansun(Traditional Fishing Boat of Korea) is based on Fishing Bost Investigation Report which began in 1921. The Report was completed in 1927 with the conclusion of Southern sea Region and Western sea Region studies which included the investigation of the entire region. Based on this report, this paper surveys Hansun's characteristics style of boat and performance. The First couple of chapters are possibility of combining type of Hansun and modern Sailing Boat. As a result we find out that the hull form of Hansun is very similar with that of modern sailing boats and is a good candidate for the mother ship to develop the modern sailing boats for Korean sea.

한국(韓國) 연근해어선(沿近海漁船)의 특성(特性) (Characteristics of Korean Inshore Fishing Boats)

  • Korean fisheries industry holds 57,255 boats amounting to 269,079 tons in gross as of the end of 1967. The boats of the size under 30G.T., about sixty-two per cent of the total in tonnage, are utilized in coastal and their contribution to the total production of Korean fisheries industry is estimated at over seventy-five percent. Hull forms and construction method of them are partly in transition stage to the western tradition from the oriental tradition, which employs the chine-type straight-framed section, and tick and wide wooden planking fastened on naturally bent timber frames. And only about a half of them are mechanized. About fifty-seven per cent, 7,525 boats amounting to 91,751 gross tons, of the coastal and inshore fishing boats are those of the size ranging 5G.T. to 30G.T., which are engaged mostly in draft-and gill-netting, angling, longlining, anchovy seining, squid fishing and set-netting. The important fishing boats forming main structure of the inshore fishing fleets can be classified as 5G.T.-class multi-purpose boats, 10G.T.-class angling/longlining boats and 20G.T.-class drift-/gill-netters mostly utilized in the east-sea, 15G.T.-class anchovy seiner in the south-sea-sea, 20G.T.- and 28G.T.-class stow-netters in the west sea. Each of the three sea regions, east, south, and west, of Korean water has distinctly different characters from one another in topography, geology and sea aspects, and consequently in marine resources, fishing grounds and fishing tactics desired. Hence, the finishing boats in each sea region have also their own characters in hull form, structural features, deck design and equipments. In this report, analyzing the characteristics of the existing inshore fishing boats ranging 5G.T. to 30G.T. in size from view points of naval architecture and engineering, the author made an integrated investigation of their characteristics, covering size and principal dimensions, hull form, deck design, structural features and mechanization, in close connection with the natural circumstances of Korean water and local techno-socio-economic problems, and, finally, made some suggestions for the rational improvement or modernization of the inshore fishing boats. Further details of the characteristics of Korean inshore finishing boats are referred to the drawings of them compiled by the author and given in the reference[23] listed at the end of this report.

현대 세일링 보트의 설계관점에서 본 전통어선의 성능고찰 (A Study on the Performance of the Traditional Korean Fishing Boats from the View Point of Modern Sailing Boat Design)

  • The performance of Traditional Korean Fishing Boat is surveyed based on Report on Investigation of Korean Fishing Boat. The characteristics of Traditional Korean fishing Boat of hull form, rudder, sail are studied from the view point of modern sailing boat design. As a result we find her hull form is an excellent candidate of mother ship for modern boat design and the great sized rudder of Traditional Korean Fishing Boat makes a role of the centerboard of modern sailing host. And also we find the sail of Traditional Korean fishing Boat is more useful for sailing against the wind direction than an ordinary Lug sail.

크레인 교체에 따른 표준재화 상태에서의 소형 어선의 복원성 특성 - 고성항 전복 사고 재결서 중심 - (Stability Characteristics based on Crane Weight of Small Fishing Vessels Under Standard Loading Conditions: Investigation Report of the Capsize Accident at Goseong Port)

  • 2016년 3월 6.67톤 어선이 크레인 작업을 하던 중 복원성 상실로 인한 전복 사고가 발생하였다. 전복은 충돌, 접촉, 좌초, 화재 및 폭발의 결과로 발생한 사고는 제외하고 선박이 뒤집힌 것을 말한다. 지난 9년동안(2010-2018), 전복 사고는 전체 해양사고의 2.34%를 차지하고 있으며 증가와 감소를 반복하고 있다. 10톤 미만 소형어선의 주된 전복사고 원인은 부적절한 선적에 따른 복원성 상실이다. 어선법에 따르면 소형 어선은 복원성과 1톤 미만 제한 하중 크레인에 대해서 복원성과 예비검사를 면제해 주고 있다. 본 연구는 고성에서 발생한 소형 어선의 전복 사고 재결서의 원인으로 언급된 사항 중 크레인 증량에 따른 복원 모멘트 감소에 대해 실제 제원이 비슷한 어선을 모델링하여 이를 통해 사고 전·후의 어선 상태를 가상하여 복원성을 비교하였다. 그 결과 기존 보다 무거운 크레인으로의 교체 시에는 복원 모멘트 감소와 현단몰입각의 감소로 전복의 위험성이 증가되었다. 표준재화 상태에서는 입·출항시 보다는 어로 활동을 하고 있는 상황에서의 복원 모멘트가 감소되는 것을 확인하였다.

근대 일본의 조선 바다 조사에 대한 서지학 (Bibliographic Research on the Modern Japan's Investigation on Korean Sea)

  • 1890년대부터 1900년대에 걸쳐서 일본은 여러 차례 조선의 바다를 조사하였다. 그 조사결과물로는 "조선통어사정"(1893) "조선국원산출장복명서"(1895) "조선수로지"(1894) "조선어업협회순라보고"(1898~1900) "한해통어지침"(1903) "한국수산지"(1908~1911)를 들 수 있다. 비록 이러한 조사들이 100년 이전에 이루어진 것이지만, 당시 조선의 어업 상황은 물론이고 연해지역 주민들의 생활상을 소상히 들여다볼 수 있는 자료이다. 특히 "한국수산지"는 전 4권에 이르는 방대한 분량으로, 연해의 수산물을 비롯하여 조선의 역사와 문화와 관련된 내용도 적지 않다. 특히 연해 마을의 인구, 어업에 종사하는 사람의 수, 어선과 그물 수까지 파악하고 있다. 수산학 발전이라는 관점에서 보면, 이미 린네 이후의 근대적인 수산물 분류법이 적용되고 있으며, 당시의 분류는 현재의 분류와 다른 점도 적지 않아서 동식물 분류학의 관점에서도 흥미로운 자료라고 할 수 있다.
