  • Running train is one of the most main factor for railway bridge vibration. The repeated forces with equidistant axles cause the magnification of dynamic responses which relates with maintenance of the track structure and structure-borne noises. The noise problem is one of the most important issues in services of light rail transit system which usually passes through towns. The noise of railway bridges can be divided into the noise from track-vehicle system and structure-borne noises. In the present study, The vibration and noise of the LRT bridge will be investigated with utilizing dynamics responses from moving train as input data for noise analysis.

  • A Study on the flow-structure characteristics of a 3/2 way pneumatic valve is essential for optimizing the performance of ship engines. It is important for the valve to have desirable safety factor am reduced weight from the safety and economic point of view. In this study, we capture flow-structure characteristics of 3/2 way pneumatic valve. This is optimized based on the proper design criteria. The air at a pressure of 30 bar is the working fluid which is made to fill in the tack in short time. This time is defined as the filling time. The flow and structure analysis is performed for three cases under maximum stress and safety factor. In optimum design, considering the flow-structure characteristics, we model twenty seven cases by using DOE(design of experiments) method Here, analysis for each cases is performed and then metamodels are created We obtain optimized parameters and then analysis is repeated to compare with the initial model. Finally, the feasibility of the optimum design is verified.

  • The Honam-Jeju, Korea-Japan, and Korea-China subsea tunnel construction projects have drawn significant attention since the early 2000s. These subsea tunnels are much deeper than most existing natural shallow sea tunnels linking coastal areas. Thus, the need for developing new technologies for the site selection and construction of deep subsea tunnels has recently emerged, with the launch of a research project titled "Development of Key Subsea Tunnelling Technology" in 2013. A component of this research, an analysis of deep subsea geological structure, is currently underway. A ground investigation, such as a borehole or geophysical investigation, is generally carried out for tunnel design. However, when investigating a potential site for a deep subsea tunnel, borehole drilling requires equipment at the scale of offshore oil drilling. The huge cost of such an undertaking has raised the urgent need for methods to indirectly assess the local geological structure as much as possible to limit the need for repeated borehole investigations. This study introduces an indirect approach for assessing the geological structure of the seafloor through a submarine bathymetry analysis. The ultimate goal here is to develop an automated approach to the analysis of submarine geological structures, which may prove useful in the selection of future deep subsea tunnel sites.

Sol-Gel법으로 제작한 PZT(20/80)/PZT(80/20) 이종층 박막의 구조 및 유전 특성 (Structural and Dielectric Properties of PZT(20/80)/PZT(80/20) Heterolayered Thin Films Prepared by Sol-Gel Method)

  • We investigated the structural and dielectric properties of PZT(20/80)/PZT(80/20) heterolayered thin films that fabricated by the alkoxide-based Sol-Gel method. PZT(20/80)/PZT(80/20) heterolayered thin films were spin-coated on the Pt/Ti/SiO$_2$/Si substrate with PZT(20/80) film of tetragonal structure and PZT(80/20) film of rhombohedral structure by turns. Each layers were dried to remove the organic materials at 30$0^{\circ}C$ for 30min and sintered at $650^{\circ}C$ for 1hr. This procedure was repeated several times to form PZT(20/80)/PZT(80/20) heterolayered films and thickness of the film obtained by one-times of drying/sintering process was approximately 80-90nm. PZt-1, 3, 5 films with top layer of PZT(20/80) film of tetragonal structure showed fine grain structure and PZT-2, 4, 6 films with top layer of PZT(80/20) film of rhombohedral structure showed the dense grain microstructure without rosette-type. Dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the PZT-6 film were approximaterly 1385 and 3.3% respectively. Increasing the number of coatings remanent polarization was increased and coercive field was decreased and the values of the PZT-6 film were 8.13$\mu$C/cm$^2$and 12.5kV/cm respectively.

Damage identification of belt conveyor support structure using periodic and isolated local vibration modes

  • Due to corrosion, a large number of belt conveyors support structure in industrial plants have deteriorated. Severe corrosion may result in collapse of the structures. Therefore, practical and effective structural assessment techniques are needed. In this paper, damage identification methods based on two specific local vibration modes, named periodic and isolated local vibration modes, are proposed. The identification methods utilize the facts that support structures have many identical members repeated along the belt conveyor and there exist some local modes within a small frequency range where vibrations of these identical members are much larger than those of the other members. When one of these identical members is damaged, this member no longer vibrates in those modes. Instead, the member vibrates alone in an isolated mode with a lower frequency. A damage identification method based on frequencies comparison of these vibration modes and another method based on amplitude comparison of the periodic local vibration mode are explained. These methods do not require the baseline measurement records of undamaged structure. The methods is capable of detecting multiple damages simultaneously. The applicability of the methods is experimentally validated with a laboratory model and a real belt-conveyor support structure.

  • Poly(ethylene 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylate)(PEN)은 그 주사슬에 PET의 벤젠고리 대신 나프탈렌 고리로 치환된 구조로 인하여 PEN섬유는 내열성, 탄성계수(modulus), 형태안정성(dimensional stability), 내화학성 등에서 PET에 비해 우수한 장점을 갖고 있으며, 따라서 고온, 고습한 환경에서도 기계적 성질을 오랫동안 유지할 수 있다. 그리고 중합 및 방사 등의 제조 공정이 PET와 유사하여 향후 고강력, 고형 태안정성 산업용사에서 획기적인 변화를 가져올 것으로 기대된다.   • The prediction and estimation of R/C structure behavior subjected to earthquake type loading is partly based on the experimental results of the monotonically increased cyclic loading, rather than that of the irregularly increased cyclic loading. However, actual earthquake is typical random vibration. In this respect, comparing and analysing experimental test results of R/C specimens subjected to monotonically increased cyclic loading and irregularly increased cyclic loading, this study proposes the research direction of irregularly increased cyclic loading during earthquake.

  • In this paper is Proposed a VSC(variable structure controller) for a high-speed and high-precision position control of a XY Table, which is based on the PI type reaching mode. Also the comparative study between the proposed method and the conventional PID controller is presented as well. Designed and tuned under repeated experiments, the proposed method showed a better reasonable performance than PID controller in the aspect of tracking error.
