국내 해양에너지 연구동향 및 발전 전략에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Domestic Trends and Development Strategies of Marine Energy Research in South Korea)

  • While the current share of marine energy in South Korea is less than 1%, it is globally recognized as a resource approximately four times the annual electricity production. Considering the diverse geographical features of the East Sea, South Sea, and West Sea, marine energy development is crucial for South Korea and essential for achieving the 2050 carbon neutrality goal. Policy efforts for marine energy deployment focus on establishing an innovative, open, and integrated R&D system to respond flexibly. The construction of a scientific, economic, and social valid site selection system, along with a maritime spatial planning regime that considers environmental and socio-economic impacts, is emphasized. To expedite the early activation of marine energy, comprehensive policy endeavors, including discriminatory support policies and participation in international standardization, are anticipated to contribute to the sustainable development and dissemination of marine energy. Marine renewable energy plays a significant role in sustainability and addressing climate change, considered an essential component of South Korea's efforts toward carbon neutrality.

  • 지구 온난화 및 탄소배출권 저감을 위한 대안으로 에너지저장장치(ESS, Energy Storage System)의 중요성을 인식하고 ESS 산업육성을 위한 보급사업 및 인센티브 정책을 추진하고 있다. 우리나라는 2020년까지 ESS 누적 용량 2GW 보급을 추진하고 있다. 이러한 보급정책과 기업들의 기술개발에 따라 시장 확대로 인한 ESS의 배터리 가격이 점차 하락할 전망이다. 본 논문에서는 ESS 기술개발에 따른 ESS 가격 하락에 따른 ESS 보급량 추정을 하였으며, 이에 따라 발생하는 비용의 경제성 분석을 실시하였다. 또한 ESS 종류에 따라 발생할 수 있는 비용 및 ESS와 풍력전원의 연계에 따른 투자비용 분석을 하였으며, ESS보급에 따라 발생할 수 있는 전력판매수익 및 신재생에너지공급인증서 판매수익에 대한 경제성 분석을 실시하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 페수열 회수 보일러에서 버려지는 페수열을 재생하여 에너지를 재활용하기 위하여 퍼지제어 알고리즘을 사용한 지능제어기를 설계하고자 한다. 폐수유입온도의 변화와 폐수유입량의 변화를 파라미터로 하여 컴프레서의 정속운전 대수와 토출온수온도의 특성곡선을 전문가의 지식으로부터 얻을 수 있다. 폐수열 회수 보일러에 유입되는 폐수부하에 따른 컴프레서의 정속운전 대수를 최소화 하기위해 폐수유입온도와 유입량의 변화를 측정하여 최적의 정속운전 대수 및 인버터 운전량을 실시간으로 결정하는 지능제어기를 설계하여 페수열 부하의 변동을 실시간으로 추정하여 최소의 컴프레서 운전대수 및 조작량을 제어함으로써 에너지 효율과 경제성을 극대화할 수 있다.

Power Quality Disturbances Identification Method Based on Novel Hybrid Kernel Function

  • A hybrid kernel function of support vector machine is proposed to improve the classification performance of power quality disturbances. The kernel function mathematical model of support vector machine directly affects the classification performance. Different types of kernel functions have different generalization ability and learning ability. The single kernel function cannot have better ability both in learning and generalization. To overcome this problem, we propose a hybrid kernel function that is composed of two single kernel functions to improve both the ability in generation and learning. In simulations, we respectively used the single and multiple power quality disturbances to test classification performance of support vector machine algorithm with the proposed hybrid kernel function. Compared with other support vector machine algorithms, the improved support vector machine algorithm has better performance for the classification of power quality signals with single and multiple disturbances.

Adaptive Queue Management Based On the Change Trend of Queue Size

  • Most active queue management algorithms manage network congestion based on the size of the queue but ignore the network environment which makes queue size change. It seriously affects the response speed of the algorithm. In this paper, a new AQM algorithm named CT-AQM (Change Trend-Adaptive Queue Management) is proposed. CT-AQM predicts the change trend of queue size in the soon future based on the change rate of queue size and the network environment, and optimizes its dropping function. Simulation results indicate that CT-AQM scheme has a significant improvement in loss-rate and throughput.

  • The alarming climate change impacts are demanding the use of renewable energy sources like never before. Hydropower is one of the most cost-effective and environmental friendly energy technology recognized in the world. Big hydropower projects come up with the requirements of huge investment costs along with environmental impacts, whereas small hydropower(SHP) are considered a best solution for the economical source of energy. SHP, basically Run-of-River (RoR) type plants can be sustainable renewable energy sources and given the nature of perennial rivers flowing from steep gradient and rugged topography, feasibility of such plants is equally high in Nepal. The objective of this study is to determine the primary potential sites for the development of RoR type SHP sites using Geo-spatial Information System(GSIS). The use of GSIS enables precise survey of large area within a short period of time. This study has focused on the determination of locations by establishing defined criterions and methodologies and hence have located multiple locations rather than selecting one best location. The approach is applicable for the rapid initial screening of potential locations and results can facilitate detail feasibility study for the technical and economic analysis of SHP in the basin.

Generative Adversarial Networks for single image with high quality image

  • The SinGAN is one of generative adversarial networks that can be trained on a single nature image. It has poor ability to learn more global features from nature image, and losses much local detail information when it generates arbitrary size image sample. To solve the problem, a non-linear function is firstly proposed to control downsampling ratio that is ratio between the size of current image and the size of next downsampled image, to increase the ratio with increase of the number of downsampling. This makes the low-resolution images obtained by downsampling have higher proportion in all downsampled images. The low-resolution images usually contain much global information. Therefore, it can help the model to learn more global feature information from downsampled images. Secondly, the attention mechanism is introduced to the generative network to increase the weight of effective image information. This can make the network learn more local details. Besides, in order to make the output image more natural, the TVLoss function is introduced to the loss function of SinGAN, to reduce the difference between adjacent pixels and smear phenomenon for the output image. A large number of experimental results show that our proposed model has better performance than other methods in generating random samples with fixed size and arbitrary size, image harmonization and editing.

소형선박에 설치 가능한 해상기인 오염원 멸균용 에너지 자급형 전기분해 장치 개발 (Energy self-sufficient electrolysis apparatus for sterilization of portable toilet in small vessels)

  • Marine caused pollution occurs mostly near coastal area and its main cause was known to be human feces issued from small vessels. To sterilize liquid pollutants from portable toilets of small vessels, an electrolysis treatment is judged to be the most economic and stable method considering an environment of its use. In this paper, we presents an electrolysis apparatus which is the most appropriate for sterilizing pollutants from portable toilets of small vessels and derives the minimum operating time of the apparatus for sterilizing norovirus which is a main target of marine caused pollution sources. In order to utilize renewable energy, we designed an apparatus which generates a renewable energy from solar cells. As a result, we could confirm the applicability of the proposed system with the results from experiments in three cases of different weather conditions.

스마트 그리드를 위한 분산자원과 전력변환장치 기반 마이크로그리드 독립운전 (Microgrid Island Operation Based on Power Conditioning System with Distributed Energy Resources for Smart Grid)

  • 스마트 그리드를 구성하는 기본 단위 요소인 마이크로그리드(Microgrid)는 전력의 중앙 공급방식에서 벗어나 독립된 하나의 체계를 이룬다. 본 논문은 전력변환장치(Power Conditioning System)를 기반으로 마이크로그리드를 계통으로부터 전기적으로 독립시키고, 신재생 에너지원과 에너지 저장장치(Energy Storage System) 등의 분산자원(Distributed Energy Resource)을 활용하여 효과적으로 독립 상태를 유지하고 운영할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 계통의 위상검출과 동기화를 통해 계통에 연계하거나 독립 시에 부하에 미치는 영향을 최소화할 뿐만 아니라 계통의 정전 상황에서도 안정적으로 운영이 가능하다.

산림바이오매스에너지에 관한 과학적 근거에 따른 통설적 접근 (Forest Biomass Utilization for Energy Based on Scientifically Grounded and Orthodox)

  • Addressing climate change necessitates evidence-based policies grounded in science. The use of forest biomass for energy production is based on a broad scientific consensus at the international level. However, some environmental groups in South Korea are opposing this system of energy production. Through this study, the authors aim to reduce unnecessary confusion and foster an atmosphere conducive to meaningful evidence-based policies. We have classified the issue into eight categories: biological carbon cycle, carbon debt, nature-based solutions, air emissions, cascading principles and sustainability certification, forest environmental impacts, climate change litigation, and the behavior of environmental groups and public perception. Consequently, the following key points were derived: (1) the actions of some environmental groups seem to follow a similar pattern to denialist behavior that denies climate change and climate science; (2) the quality of evidence for campaigns that oppose the use of forest biomass for energy production is low, with a tendency to overgeneralize information, high uncertainty, and difficulty in finding new claims.; (3) most of the public believes that forest biomass energy is necessary, and the governments of major countries are aware of its importance. Significantly, Forest biomass for energy is based on an overwhelming level of scientific consensus recognized internationally.
