다공성 중공사막 기액 접촉기틀 이용한 $SO_2$ 제거에서 막재질과 흡수제의 영향 (Effect of Membrane Material and Absorbent Type on $SO_2$ Removal Using Microporous Hollow-fiber Membrane G-L Contactors)

  • 다공성 중공사막 분리막 기액접촉기을 이용한 황산화물 제거장치를 제작하고 다양한 상용 분리막과 자체 제작한 분리막을 이용하여 황산화물 제거 성능 실험을 수행하였다. 분리막을 이용한 황산화물 제거 성능 평가 결과 대단히 우수한 제거효율을 보였다. 중공사막을 이용하여 $SO_2$를 제거할 경우에 액막 저항을 낮출 수 있는 흡수제와 첨가제의 선정, 막 재질, 막 제조조건 등이 최적의 G-L Contactor개발에 중요한 변수로 나타났다. 향후 보다 소형화되고, 경제적이며 효율이 우수한 G-L Contactor System 개발에 대한 연구를 진행할 것이다.

낙동강 수계에 대한 정수처리공정에서 응집공정의 DOC 제거 특성 (Characteristics of DOC Removal by Coagulation Process in the Water Treatment of Nakdong River)

  • This study was carried out to derive the removal characteristics of target materials(DOC and turbidity) during the coagulation process after the injection of coagulants(PACl and FeCl3). Used apparatus were a jar test and a pilot plant. A great portion of DOC among the total removed DOC was achieved at the slow mixing process among the coagulation process. The ranges of removed DOC and optimum pH for each coagulant were 0.45~1.47mg/l and 6.0~6.5 by PACl, and 0.97~2.61mg/l. and 5.0~5.5 by FeCl3, respectively. Both of coagulants showed little increase of DOC removal above coagulant dosage 20mg/l Molecular weight distribution(MWD) of removed DOC was measured by get filtration(GF) technique. The MWD variation by gel filtrationin(GF) for removed DOC in the coagulation process were as follows; for raw water, the percentages of each MWD for total area were < MW 6,500 25.5%, MW 6,500~66,000 67.1%, and > MW 66,000 7.4%. For the same coagulant dosage(12mg/l), the percentages of each MWD for total area by PACl were < MW 6,500 20.5%, MW 6,500~66,000 48.7%, and > MW 66,000 9.1%, and those of FeCl3 were MW 66,000 18.2%.   • 축산 폐수처리를 위해 전기화학적 방법의 사용에 있어 관심이 고조되고 있다. 전기화학적 방법의 기술은 축산폐수 및 공업적 폐수 문제를 해결하는데 이상적 처리 방법이다. 다른 화학적 처리 방법과는 다르게 전기화학적계는 2차 폐수의 부피를 증가시키지 않고 용수와 유기질 비료로 활용한다. 전기화학적 방법은 전해부상장치를 무기화학적 약품과 병행하여 더욱 효과적으로 축산폐수를 처리한다. 이 연구는 2차 처리로 초음파와 오존처리로 탈색, COD와 BOD가 격감함으로 용수 및 유기질 비료로 활용하도록 실험하였다.

CVD-SiC 소재의 가공 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Machining Characteristics of CVD-SiC)

  • A plasma gas control apparatus for semiconductor plasma etching processes securely holds a cathode for forming a plasma, confines the plasma during the plasma etching process, and discharges gas after etching. It is a key part of the etching process. With the advancement of semiconductor technology, there is increasing interest in parts for semiconductor manufacturing that directly affect wafers. Accordingly, in order to replace the plasma gas control device with a CVD-SiC material superior in mechanical properties to existing SiCs (Sintered-SiC, RB-SiC), a study on the grinding characteristics of CVD-SiC was carried out. It is confirmed that the optimal grinding condition was obtained when the result table feed rate was 2 m/min and the infeed depth was $5{\mu}m$.

아임계수를 이용한 토양 내 벤조[a]피렌 정화 (Remediation of benzo[a]pyrene Contaminated Soil using Subcritical Water)

  • Subcritical water acts like an organic solvent at elevated temperature in terms of its physicochemical properties. Taking into account this advantage, the remediation experiments of benzo[a]pyrene contaminated soil (8.45 mg/kg of initial concentration) were conducted using subcritical water extraction apparatus. The effect of operating factors on the removal efficiency was studied at the varying the conditions of the water temperature ranging $200{\sim}300^{\circ}C$, extraction time 30~90 min, and flow rate 0.3~2.0 mL/min. 12 g of benzo[a]pyrene contaminated soil was inserted into the extraction cell and placed into the reactor and then the subcritical water was driven through the cell. In this study, the removal efficiency of benzo[a]pyrene was increased from 55.1 to 98.1% when the temperature increased from 200 to $300^{\circ}C$. The removal efficiency was decreased from 97.0 to 77.0% when the flow rate increased from 0.3 to 2.0 mL/min, suggesting that the extraction is limited by intra-particle diffusion. The 30 min reaction time was determined as an effective treatment time at $250^{\circ}C$. Based on the results, the optimum condition for the remediation of benzo[a]pyrene contaminated soil was suggested to be $250^{\circ}C$, 30 min, and 0.3 mL/min.

  • An experimental research was conducted in order to study the treatability of municipal landfill leachate using a combined physio-chemical and biological treatment. The leachate was obtained from Nanjido landfill site in Seoul. Several sets of bench-scale sequencing batch reactor(SBR) and physic-chemical reactors were used as experimental apparatus. This experiment lasted for about 2 years. The results are as follows: 1. The characteristics of Nanjido landfill leachate were pH 7.4~8.2, BOD 79~450mg/L, COD 998~1460mg/L, $NH_3-N$ 1380~3412mg/L, 7-P 2.6~7.0mg/L, color 890~1992 unit, and heavy metals are a very small amount. 2. Either physio-chemical or biological treatment of Landfill leachate alone did not work well. So for the adequate treatment of leachate, it was necessary to deal with the physio-chemical pretreatment before biological treatment. And it was found that both electrolysis and ozone treatment are better pretreatments of leachate than others. 3. In this study, landfill leachate was effectively processed by two step : first by electrolysis pretreatment, and secondly by SBR treatment. Thus, the study showed considerable substrate removal of raw leachate, even though the rate of COD removal depended on HRT.

염소가스에 의한 철 스크랩 중 Cu의 선택적 제거 (Selective Removal of Cu in Ferrous Scrap by Chlorine gas)

  • 철 스크랩으로부터 제조되는 철강재의 품질은 재활용 스크랩 중의 미량원소에 의해 악영향을 받는다. 특히 철 스크랩 중의 Cu는 소량이라도 그 영향이 크기 때문에 주의하여야 하는 원소이다. 본 연구에서는 철 스크랩 중의 Cu를 염소가스에 의해 선택적으로 제거할 수 있는 가능성에 대해서 실험실적으로 검토하였다. Cu를 함유하는 모의 철 스크랩을 여러 가지 분위기의 염소가스와 반응시켰다. 실험결과 Cu는 염화되어 증발되었으나, Fe는 염소와 산소의 혼합가스 분위기에서는 표면만 산화되고 염화되지 않았다.

실험실 수준의 반응조 온도가 양돈폐수중 질소, 인의 처리에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Temperature on Treatment of Nitrogen and Phosphorus of Pig Wastewater in Bench Scale Reactor)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the effect of temperature on operating parameters for reactor in pig wastewater treatment using sequencing batch reactor method which is one of the biological treatment methods. Study was accomplished by experimental apparatus of bench scale, and the degradation rate coefficient and temperature correction factor were derived. The followings are the conclusions that were derived from this study. 1. In the characteristics of pig wastewater, concentrations of TKN and T-P were very high as 590 mg/l and 40 mg/l, respectively. 2. Removal efficiency of BOD and $COD_{Mn}$ as organic compound indicators were the highest mark as 97% at 25$\circ$C. 3. When temperature was incresed from 10$\circ$C to 25$\circ$C, removal efficiencies of TKN and T-P were proportionally increased. Especially, the former was greatly effected by temperature of reactor. 4. In experiment of bench scale, the degradation rate coefficients were increased as temperature increased, but decreased at the temperature range of 25~35$\circ$C. Temperature adjustment coefficients for $COD_{Mn}$, BOD, TKN and T-P were 1.1460, 1.1356, 1.1140 and 1.0565, respectively.

Characteristics of the molar surface after removal of cervical enamel projections: comparison of three different rotating instruments

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare tooth surface characteristics in extracted human molars after cervical enamel projections (CEPs) were removed with the use of three rotating instruments. Methods: We classified 60 extracted molars due to periodontal lesion with CEPs into grade I, II, or III, according to the Masters and Hoskins' criteria. Each group contained 20 specimens. Three rotating instruments were used to remove the CEPs: a piezoelectric ultrasonic scaler, a periodontal bur, and a diamond bur. Tooth surface characteristics before and after removal of the projections were then evaluated with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). We analyzed the characteristics of the tooth surfaces with respect to roughness and whether the enamel projections had been completely removed. Results: In SEM images, surfaces treated with the diamond bur were smoothest, but this instrument caused considerable harm to tooth structures near the CEPs. The piezoelectric ultrasonic scaler group produced the roughest surface but caused less harm to the tooth structure near the furcation. In general, the surfaces treated with the periodontal bur were smoother than those treated with the ultrasonic scaler, and the periodontal bur did not invade adjacent tooth structures. Conclusions: For removal of grade II CEPs, the most effective instrument was the diamond bur. However, in removing grade III projections, the diamond bur can destroy both adjacent tooth structures and the periodontal apparatus. In such cases, careful use of the periodontal bur may be an appropriate substitute.
