As the paper industry consumes much water in process and discharge wastewater containing suspended solid and COD(chemical oxygen demand), relevant law against this discharge has been set up to limit the total containment of COD in discharge. This study has been carried out to improve the treatment method for the soluble COD in wastewater produced during the process of paste-board production, which is made of semichemical pulp and waste paper. Applicated methods are, O$_2$AS : O$_2$ activated sludge process DAS : Deep well activated sludge process SAS : standard activated sludge process and proper combination of DAS and SAS 1) As a result of this experiment, we get the following conclusion between in COD sludge loading "X" and COD removable rate in the process of treating waste-water. COD removable rate(%)=(0.778+0.0146/X)${\times}$100(%)……(7) 2) In case that the COD sludge loading is high, it has been cleared out that the COD removable rate shall become low due to unknown unsoluble substances contained in the process. Meanwhile, to increase the efficiency rate of treatment, it is thought to be necessary, to provide long-time contacts with activated sludge. 3) Once the COD of original waste-water and the target COD of treated water are decided, COD sludge loading is obtained from equation(7), and capacity of aeration tank in the effective systems such as O$_2$AS, DAS, to bet the required COD removable rate can be decided. Therefore the choice among SAS, O$_2$AS, DAS methods is made in consideration of required COD removable rate and allowable installation area. 4) In the sedimentation tank with sludge bulking, it is possible to increase the COD removable rate by 3~7% but still there exist many obstacles to manage this operation.

The increasing international awareness regarding air pollutant reduction has resulted in increasing demand for eco-friendly ships; hence, electric ships are being actively developed by various countries. Presently, studies on electric ships are mainly focused on electric propulsion systems and electric motors. However, from the ship perspective, there are no studies on conceptual designs for coastal car ferries powered by removable power supply systems. In the present study, the main research consideration is regarding the conceptual design of a fully electrified car ferry using a battery-based removable system as the main power source. By analyzing the dimensions of more than 100 domestic coastal car ferries, the main criteria satisfying the requirements for developing a suitable vessel were derived, and a study on intact/damage stability was conducted considering the application of a removable battery truck. Further analyses of the problems concerning the conceptual design were also performed to derive solutions.
Statement of Problem: Although many efforts have been continually made to estimate long term prognosis of removable partial dentures, the complication of removable partial dentures was still found because of inaccurate fabrication procedure and improper maintenance care. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical status of removable partial dentures. Material and methods: A total of 112 individuals with 153 removable partial dentures (35 - 87 years, 64 women and 48 men) were examined by intra-oral examination, diagnostic cast and radiographic examination. Results and conclusion: The results of this study were as follows: 1. Length of service of removable partial dentures was $5.3{\pm}4.3$ years (mean), 4.0 years (median). 2. A total of 45 removable partial dentures were considered failures. The loss of 18 abutments of 369 was founded. 3. Type of arch, Kennedy classification and type of opposite dentition were found to have no influence on longevity and success rate of removable partial dentures (P > .05). 4. Most common major connector was the palatal plate in maxilla and the number of lingual bar and linguoplate designed in mandible were similar. 5. The circumferential type retainer was the most commonly used retainer. 6. Sixty-three percent of the class I and II removable partial dentures incorporated indirect retention into the design. 7. Approximately 81% of the removable partial dentures had at least one defect. Excessive wear of posterior teeth (27.9%), lack of integrity (23.2%), lack of stability (22.6%) were frequent defects of removable partial dentures.
Traditional options for posterior edentulous treatment include removable partial dentures and implant fixed prostheses. Recently, the concept of implant assisted removable partial denture, in which two treatments are fused, has been introduced in consideration of systemic health and patient's needs, costs, residual alveolar bone status and so on. Implant assisted removable partial denture has the advantage of increasing the retention and stability of the denture and improving its esthetics in cases of large bone defects or biomechanical disadvantages. In addition, it is possible to strategically place the implants in a site where the alveolar bone is relatively sufficient, thereby overcome the limit of the conventional removable partial denture design as well as reducing the burden on a wide range of implant surgery. Cost reduction is also expected. In this case, the patient was treated by placing the implant in both premolar sites of the mandible and fabricating the distal extension removable partial denture with the implant fixed prosthesis as an abutment. After delivering the definitive prosthesis, the patient showed satisfaction with the masticatory function and esthetics. and has been regularly followed-up for more than one year. The following 20-months follow-up case report describes the design of an implant-assisted-removable partial denture (IARPD) in which two cementretained implant crowns used to provide support and stability.
Implant-Assisted Removable Partial Dentures (IARPDs) treatment is being performed in a fully edentulous patient using implant surveyed prosthesis as an abutment. Implant-supported prosthesis as an abutment of IARPDs is classified into screw-retained and cement-retained type according to the retention type, and each has advantages and disadvantages. The EZ crown system (Samwon DMP, Yangsan, Korea) has a cylinder combined with abutment, and the nickel-titanium spring in this cylinder provides a constant force on the zirconia ball to obtain retention in EZ crown system. In this patient, the natural abutment teeth of the mandibular overdenture was hopeless. We planned implant assisted removable partial denture using anterior implant surveyed prosthesis considering functional and esthetical rehabilitation, cost and patient's needs. When fabricating IARPDs using implant as abutment, we could compensate for the shortcomings of existing implant-supported prosthesis retention type and made the design of removable partial denture easy due to using EZ crown system.

Fixed implant prostheses or removable partial dentures are common treatment for partially dentulous patients. Recently, an implant-assisted removable partial denture (IARPD) has been introduced and is widely used. In the case of removable partial dentures using implant attachment and surveyed fixed prostheses, the consideration about parallelism of insertion path between implants and surveyed fixed prostheses is an important factor for success of IARPDs. In this case, she complained of discomfort while using the mandibular removable partial denture. Thus, an IARPD using implant surveyed fixed prostheses was fabricated. Thereafter, more implants were placed by a digital guide surgery to have the same insertion path as the existing surveyed fixed prostheses. Locator attachments were installed to the left and right premolar implants, and the left molar was able to obtain support of the removable partial denture with healing abutment. The clinical results were satisfactory on the aspect of aesthetic and masticatory function.
Modern theories and concepts of occlusion for implants and natural teeth have originated in complete denture construction. Bilateral balanced occlusion as the occlusal scheme of choice has a long history in complete denture construction. The reason that occlusion has always been a consideration in the provision of removable prosthetics is because the adoption of good occlusal practice has a significant and immediate impact on the overall success of the treatment, as it affects denture stability. However, clinicians must remember that there are multiple ways, both successful and unsuccessful, to complete the restoration of a patient's occlusion. The goal is to meet the physiologic, functional, and esthetic needs of the individual patient while applying knowledge, accurate diagnosis, experience, clinical judgement, and attention to detail. This paper describes the features of an ideal occlusion in removable prosthodontics, why these features make it ideal for denture stability, and some technique for achieving these aims.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of wearing the removable partial denture on plaque accumulation. Twelve removable partial denture cases were examined. Patients were recalled three consecutive 3 day periods. Plaque index was measured after each 3 day period. (1) not wearing the denture, (2) wearing the denture, (3) wearing the denture after intensive tooth brushing instruction. The results were as follows: 1. Plaque indices of all the remaining teeth were higher following the wearing of removable partial denture than those of teeth not wearing the denture and those of teeth after intensive tooth brushing instruction. 2. Plaque indices showed statistical difference between all the tooth surfaces which were in contact with the denture and those which were not. 3. Plaque indices showed no statistical difference between buccal and lingual surfaces which were in contact with the denture and those which were not. 4. Plaque indices showed statistical difference between proximal surfaces which were in contact with the denture and those which were not.

The general soil nailing support system may result in excessive deformations particularly in an excavation zone of the existing weak subsoils. Pretensioning the soil nails then, could play important roles to reduce deformations mainly in part of the nailed-soil excavation system as well as to improve local stability. Morever, soil nails are installed underneath roads, underground structures, and subway structures, thereby resulting in difficulties in nail remval after completion of temporary soil nailed walls. Hence, to date, in order to solve the technical difficulties and avoid legal issues related to the construction of soil nails underneath the surrounding areas and structures, the removable soil nailing system has been developed and used. But, Therefore, a new soil nailing technique called Removable Post-tensioned Soil Nailing(RPTN) system has been developed in the current study. In this study, an investigation of the RPTN system has been conducted by carrying out field measurement. Hence, the RPTN system can reduce ground displacement and enhance stability of the soil nailed walls.
Path of insertion(1) can be defined that the direction of movement of an appliance from the point of initial contact of its rigid parts with the supporting teeth to the place of final rest. Krol(2) described that in the conventional path of insertion, all the rests are seated more or less simultaneously but in the use of the rotational path one segment of the partial denture is seated first then the remainder of the prosthesis is rotated into position. The rotational path of insertion is limited primarily to the tooth borne prosthesis. Its great advantages are the elimination of anterior clasps to improve ethetic and reduction of tooth coverage to minimize plaque accumulation. Either a rigid minor connector or proximal plate provides retention through its intimate contact with a proximal tooth surface below the height of contour as indicated at a o-degree tilt. A specially designed rest in conjunction with this retentive component satisfies the basic requirements of clasp design. The purpose of this study was a clinical evaluation of rotational path removable partial dentures. Author delivered rotational path removable partial dentures to three different cases of patients and evaluated function of the dentures, difficulties of removal and insertion of the dentures and supporting structures of the abutment teeth by means of clinical and X-ray examinations for eighteen months. According to the examination data author came to the conclusion that the prognosis of the rotational path removable partial dentures was excellent.
