Remote Sensing of Soil Moisture Change Using a Differential Interferometry Technique (차분 간섭 기법을 이용한 지표면 수분함유량 변화 탐지)

  • This paper presents a differential interferometry technique for soil moisture change detection by measuring surface-height variation. COSMO-SkyMed SAR images were used to verify the DInSAR(differential interferometric SAR) technique. The soil penetration depth changes according to soil moisture, that causes phase change of the received signal. The height of soil surface and its displacement can be detected by a radar interferometry technique using phase difference of two received signals. To retrieve displacement variation, one of three SAR images is used as a reference image. Reference image and other two images are processed by the differential interferometry technique in the same area. The soil moisture was measured for the test sites to verify the DInSAR technique. The penetration depth is calculated by using the in-situ measured soil moisture data and it is compared with the displacement values acquired by the DInSAR technique.

A Study on the Mapping of Wind Resource using Vegetation Index Technique at North East Area in Jeju Island (영상자료의 식생지수를 이용한 제주 북동부 지역의 풍력자원지도 작성에 관한 연구)

  • To create a wind resource map, we need a contour map, a roughness map and wind data. We need a land cover map for the roughness map of these data. A land cover map represents the area showing similar characteristics after color indexing based on the scientific method. The features of land cover is classified by Remote sensing technique. In this study, we verified the application of the NDVI technique is reasonable after we created the wind resource map using roughness maps by unsupervised classification and NDVI technique. As a result, the wind resource map using the NDVI technique showed a 60% accordance rate and difference in class less than one. From the results, The NDVI technique is found alternative to create roughness maps by the unsupervised classification.

  • 최근 고해상도의 인격탐사 위성영상을 이용한 국토공간정보의 환용은 국토계획, 자원조사, 농림업, 건설계획, 국방분야, 환경감시 및 방재, 관광조사 등 여러 분야에서 다양하게 적용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 과거에 저해상도의 위성영상을 이용하여 수십년전의 지형공간의 조사와 분석을 위한 서로 다른 촬영 시기와 해상도가 다른 Corona 위성사진과 Landsat 위성영상을 합성하여 새로운 퓨젼영상을 생성하는 방법과 퓨젼영상 위에 DEM을 매칭하여 적용하기 위한 벡터데이터 매칭시에 발생할 수 있는 오차의 정도를 확인하기 위한 실험을 통하여 과거 영상복원에 적절한 중첩과 매치의 기법을 발견하여 좀더 정확한 공간정보의 활용 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다.

  • The geo-referencing of satellite imagery is a key task in remote sensing. GCPs are points the position of which is known both in the image and in the supporting maps. Mapping function makes the determination of map coordinates of all image pixels possible. Generally manual operations are done to identify image points corresponding to the points on a digital topographic map. In order to accurately measure ground coordinates of GCPs, differential global positioning system (DGPS) surveying are used. To acquire the sufficient number of well distributed GCPs is one of the most time-consuming and cost-consuming tasks. This paper describes the procedure of automatically extracting GCOs using GCP database. GCP image chips and image matching technique are used for automatic extraction of GCPs. We developed image processing tool for making image chip GCPs and Web Server for management of GCPs.

  • One of future remote sensing techniques for the estimation of damage by storm and flood is the extraction of water area, which could be the basis of measuring the damage by storm and flood and estimate restoration cost. This paper introduces an approach to damage estimation using satellite Image. The project site was Ansung area and a set of Radarsat-1 SAR image at 6.25m resolution was used for the test. Authors investigated methods of SAR image processing such as shadow-effect removal, orthorectification of SAR image and calculation of damage area by flood. Consequetly, this study showed that technique improvement of image processing and the best of result for extracting water area. Also, found the new possibility of damage estimation using satellite image.

  • 단 밴드 영상과는 달리 다차원 데이터는 분광적인 특성을 이용한 자동화된 영상 분석을 수행하는 장점이 있는 반면, 3차원 이상의 데이터를 분광차익 상에 시각화 하는데 어려움이 따른다. 클러스터링 기법을 이용한 영상 정보 추출은 자동화된 영상 분석적인 측면에서 중요한 분야 중 하나로서, 분광차원에서 구 형태의 조밀한 클러스터를 분리하는데 효과적인 방법으로 알려져 있지만 부정형(不定形)의 클러스터를 추출하는 방법에는 한계를 가진다. 따라서 본 연구는 모든 차원의 데이터를 2차원 상에 시각화하여 화소간 인접성을 개략적으로 확인할 수 있는 Star Coordinates 기법을 제안한다. 데이터의 다차원 시각화를 통해, 부정형 클러스터를 제거하여 다음 단계의 영상 분석 시 발생할 수 있는 오류를 방지할 수 있고, 명확한 클러스터를 확인 지정하여 클러스터링 정확도를 골일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 부가적인 연구고서, Star Coordinates 기법을 적용하여 Plot된 영상 데이터를 K-Means 알고리즘을 이용한 무감독 분류를 수행하여 그 결과를 확인하였다.

  • Nowadays the Rational Function Model (RFM), an abstract sensor model, is substituting physical sensor models for highly complicated imaging geometry. But RFM is algorithm to be required many Ground Control Points (GCP). In case of RFM of the third order, At least forty GCP are required far RFM generation. The purpose of this study is to research more efficient algorithm on GCP and accurate algorithm similar to RFM. The Polynomial Camera Model is relatively accurate and requires a little GCP in comparisons of RFM. This paper introduces how to generate Polynomial Camera Model and fundamental algorithms for construction of 3-D topographic data using the Polynomial Camera Model information in the Kompsat stereo pair and describes how to generate the 3-D ground coordinates by manual matching. Finally we tried to extract height information for the whole image area with the stereo matching technique based on the correlation.

  • Multitemporal approaches using sequential data acquired over multiple years are essential for satisfactory discrimination between many land cover classes whose signatures exhibit seasonal trends. At any particular time, the response of several classes may be indistinguishable. Using the estimates of periodogram which are obtained from sequential images, the periodicity of the process have been incorporates into multitemporal classification. The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) was computed for seven-day composites of the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) imagery over the Korean peninsula for 1996 - 2000 using a dynamic technique.

  • This study investigates the spatial patterns of distributed population in terms of population density, age structure, sex structure and family structure in Chou (smallest political city boundaries) of seven cities of Kitakawachi region. This displays the population dynamics of those cities from 1955 to 1995. It demonstrates how the populations of the cities are distributed with topography and with respect to the train stations. The demographic characteristics of the cities are visualized utilizing Arc View GIS capabilities with new visualizing technique in 3D environment based on data from Pasco Digital Map 2000.

  • In the images obtained from high altitude, several materials are mixed in one pixel and observed as a mixel. It makes difficult to separate the value of pure materials from obtained data. As mixel analysis, various techniques using Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and wavelet analysis, etc, were proposed. In this study, we applied to the ICA technique to real data collected by hyperspectral line sensor. Real data came under the influence of several effects regarded as basin on the convolution. We show that combining the ICA method with deconvolution improve it's estimation ability.
