VCRs 원격제어기의 인지적 특성 및 설계 (The User's Cognitive Characteristics and Design of VCRs Remote Controller)

  • Nowadays, VCR(Video Cassette Recorder) has various functions, but users use to fail operating these function because of the complexity of operation. The process of operating VCR contains user's cognitive characteristics. It is necessary for designing it that we must identify a user's mental process in the behind of operational behaviors. This effort, as well as considering physical dimensions and layout, can make VCR easy to use. In this research, VCR remote controller are analyzed by the cognitive method and experiments. Three types of VCR remote controllers, cognitive VCR models and two non-cognitive(typical) VCR models, are adopted as experimental objects to test the validation of the suggested user's cognitive mode of VCR. As results, when VCR was operated by the cognitive prototype of remote controller, task completion time was reduced to 80.5%, and the number of errors was reduced to 96.8%.

사용자 익명성을 보장하는 안전하고 개선된 원격 사용자 인증스킴 (A Robust and Secure Remote User Authentication Scheme Preserving User Anonymity)

  • 원격사용자 인증스킴은 안전하지 않은 통신상에서 원격 서버에게 사용자의 적법함을 확인하는 방법이다. 현재, 스마트카드 기반의 원격사용자 인증스킴들은 상호인증을 위해 연산비용은 낮추면서 간편한 기법이 넓게 적용되어오고 있다. 2009년, Wang et al.'s는 스마트카드를 이용한 동적 ID기반의 원격사용자 인증스킴을 제안했다. Wang et al.'s 스킴은 여러 가지 공격에 안전하고 서버에서 선택된 강력한 패스워드에 의해 익명성이 보장된다고 주장했다. 그러나 본 논문에서는 Wang et al.'s 스킴이 인증과정에서 사용자의 익명성을 제공하지 않는 취약점이 있다고 지적한다. 또 사용자에게 패스워드 선택의 권한이 없으며 제한된 replay 공격에 취약하다. 특히 사용자에게 전송된 파라미터 y는 매우 부적절하게 사용되고 있다. 이러한 보안의 결점을 극복하기 위해 Wang et al.'s 스킴의 식별된 약점을 보완하고 사용자와 원격서버 간에 완전한 익명성보장과 향상된 인증스킴을 제안한다.

Using Freeze Frame and Visual Notifications in an Annotation Drawing Interface for Remote Collaboration

  • This paper describes two user studies in remote collaboration between two users with a video conferencing system where a remote user can draw annotations on the live video of the local user's workspace. In these two studies, the local user had the control of the view when sharing the first-person view, but our interfaces provided instant control of the shared view to the remote users. The first study investigates methods for assisting drawing annotations. The auto-freeze method, a novel solution for drawing annotations, is compared to a prior solution (manual freeze method) and a baseline (non-freeze) condition. Results show that both local and remote users preferred the auto-freeze method, which is easy to use and allows users to quickly draw annotations. The manual-freeze method supported precise drawing, but was less preferred because of the need for manual input. The second study explores visual notification for better local user awareness. We propose two designs: the red-box and both-freeze notifications, and compare these to the baseline, no notification condition. Users preferred the less obtrusive red-box notification that improved awareness of when annotations were made by remote users, and had a significantly lower level of interruption compared to the both-freeze condition.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient bilateral remote user authentication scheme with smart cards. Our scheme ensures both-way authentication, so that any attempt of the adversary to affect the secure communications between the authentication server and the user could not be successful. We also present a brief analysis of our proposed scheme and show that it is well-resistant against the known attacks in remote user authentication process.

  • Recently because of development of remote network technology, users are able to access the network freely without constraints of time and space. As users are getting more frequent to access the remote server in a computing environment, they are increasingly being exposed to various risk factors such as forward secrecy and server impersonation attack. Therefore, researches for remote user authentication scheme have been studying actively. This paper overcomes the weaknesses of many authentication schemes proposed recently. This paper suggests an improved authentication scheme that protects user's anonymity with preserving variable more safe and also provides forward secrecy.

  • In this paper, we propose a remote controller for robot manipulator using local area network(LAN) and internet. To do this, we develope a server-client system as used in the network field. The client system is in any computer in remote place for the user to log-in the server and manage the remote factory. the server system is a computer which controls the manipulator and waits for a access from client. The server system consists of several control algorithms which is needed to drive the manipulator and networking system to transfer images that shows states of the work place, and to receive a Tmp data to run the manipulator. The client system consists of 3D(dimension) graphic user interface for teaching and off-line task like simulation, external hardware interface which makes it easier for the user to teach. Using this server-client system, the user who is on remote place can edit the work schedule of manipulator, then run the machine after it is transferred and monitor the results of the task.

  • 최근 네트워크 기술의 급속한 발전과 함께 사람들은 인터넷을 통해 다양한 서비스를 이용할 수 있게 되었다. 하지만 인터넷 환경에서 많이 사용되는 패스워드 기반의 사용자 인증 방식은 패스워드 테이블이 요구되기 때문에 내부자에 의한 패스워드 테이블 노출 등과 같은 보안 위협들이 존재한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 사용자의 패스워드 테이블이 요구되지 않는 인증 방법으로 원격 사용자 인증 방식이 제안되었다. 그 중 스마트카드를 이용한 원격 사용자 인증 방식은 계산 비용이나 효율성, 안전성을 개선하기 위한 다양한 방법들이 제안되었지만 위장 공격 위협과 스마트카드에 저장된 정보를 이용한 패스워드 추측 공격 위협이 존재한다. 본 논문은 기존 방식들의 취약점을 분석하고 기존 사용자 아이디/패스워드기반의 스마트카드 아이디와 패스워드를 생성하여 위장 공격과 패스워드 추측 공격에 대해 안전한 원격 사용자 인증 방식을 제안하였다.

  • Recently, Due to the rapid development of the internet and IT technology, users can conveniently use various services provided by the server anytime and anywhere. However, these technologies are exposed to various security threat such as tampering, eavesdropping, and exposing of user's identity and location information. In 2016, Nikooghadam et al. proposed a lightweight authentication and key agreement protocol preserving user anonymity. This paper overcomes the vulnerability of Nikooghadam's authentication protocol proposed recently. This paper suggests an enhanced remote user authentication protocol that protects user's password and provides perfect forward secrecy.

  • This paper presents new type remote home automation that can control and manage hi-directionally and efficiently home appliances and home security systems in home through Internet. The system is used virtual reality technology to construct very easy user interface and used Internet as network for remote control. Here, the user interface is 3D GUI which gives user feeling to be at his home on web-browser, and also shows him present state of control objects at home. This system has been implemented on the basis of Java and VRML. In this paper we propose the internet-based remote control system, and show usefulness of the suggested system by applying to home automation system.
