A Study on the Remote Educational System of the Next Generation based on APII (APII 기반의 차세대 원격 교육 시스템 연구)

  • We propose the architecture for the bidirectional remote educational system using the APII(Asia-Pacific II) international network. The proposed system was imported function of the VoIP and Web storage with Access Grid System for adopting the various cooperating methods of the remote education, and also implemented the network monitoring functions system using MRTG. Using the proposed methods, we have verified the performance and problems of implemented system through the real-time remote education using bidirectional communication between KOREA and Japan.

HTTP based remote monitoring and control system using JAVA (HTTP 기반의 자바를 이용한 원격 감시 및 제어 시스템)

  • In this paper, It is studied to control and to monitor the remote system state using HTTP(Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) object communication. The remote control system is controlled by using a web browser or a application program. This system is organized by three different part depending on functionality-server part, client part, controller part. The java technology is used to composite the server part and the client part and C language is used for a controller. The server part is waiting for the request of client part and then the request is reached, the server part saves client data to the database and send a command set to the client part. The administrator can control the remote system just using a web browser. Remote part is worked by timer that is activated per 1 second. It gets the measurement data of the controller part, and then send the request to the server part and get a command set in the command repository of server part using the client ID. After interpreting the command set, the client part transfers the command set to the controller part. Controller part can be activated by the client part. If send command is transmitted by the client part, it sends sensor monitoring data to the client part and command set is transmitted then setting up the value of the controlled system.

Development of an Autonomous Tractor System Using Remote Information Processing (원격 정보처리를 이용한 자율주행 트랙터 시스템의 개발)

  • An autonomous tractor system was developed and its performance was evaluated. The system consisted of a tractor system of and a remote control station. The tractor and the remote control station communicated each other via wireless modems. The tractor had a DGPS(differential global positioning system), sensors, a controller and a modem. The DGPS collected position data and the tractor status was estimated. The information of tractor status and sensors was transferred to the remote control station. Then, the control station determined the control data such as steering angles using a fuzzy controller. The fuzzy controller used the information from the DGPS, sensors, and GIS(geographic information system) data. The control data were obtained by remote signal processing at the control station The control data for autonomous operation were transferred to the tractor controller. The performances of an autonomous tractor were evaluated for various speeds, different initial positions and different initial headings. About 1.3 seconds of time lag was occurred in transferring the tractor status data and the control data. Compensation the time lag, about 27cm deviation was observed at the speed of 0.5m/s and 37cm at the speed of 1m/s. Error caused mainly by the time lag and it would be reduced by developing a full-duplex radio module for controlling the remote tractor.

  • This study implemented a remote control system using PDA based on WINDOWS CE. NET. In existing remote control systems, the user generally controls remote objects and obtain data using a computer, which is a local system connected to the internet, and the remote objects are connected to server computers. In order to control remote objects, the user has to have a computer, a space to use the Internet, and wired internet. The system proposed in this study uses an embedded board as a server and PDA as a client. Thus, the user can control remote objects at any place as long as wireless internet is available. In addition, because an embedded board is used as a server, the system has the characteristics of high performance and low power consumption. The proposed system provides not only remote control environment using PDA but also conventional control environment using a computer as a client. In case PDA is not available, remote objects still can be controlled from any place as long as there are wired internet and a computer.

  • In the case of the existing remote collaboration, the remote support service-oriented system is not suitable for the use of the field-oriented multi-person remote collaboration system. This paper is a remote collaboration system development for various industrial sites. We develop remote support and work management that faces the various needs of industrial sites, real-time video remote support between workers, and real-time voice work sharing between workers. In addition, The goal of the development aims to increase the usability by strengthening the security function through encryption in the video and to develop a more efficient system. Finally, the development contents are the remote management and the support software development, Android app development for worker, WebRTC-based remote collaboration system construction and development, and prototype development. These products are expected to increase demand and increase sales by installing and operating at industrial sites, and can promote manpower training, understanding trending technologies, and improving capabilities.

  • We discussed the Distributed Control System's design on preface and analyzed time of the real-time communication by using designed system. The DCS proposed in this thesis was implemented to network file system having recovery advantage and shared memory method to access file system of a Remote Station with ease. Also, this system minimized the network delay-time by using the real-time VME147 board. In implemented DCS, the performance analysis of real-time process of a Remote Station was done to get the total time for reak-tune communication from a Remote Station to the Central Station after terminating of process. For the analysis of system performance, we experiented by three steps. Firstly, we measuredthe processing the of LOOP function that real-time CPU convertes to-2,500~10.000 values from the input data of the Analog Interface Card. Secondly, we measured the processing time of the LOGIC function and the LOOP function. Lastly, we measured total processing time for communication from a Remote Station to the Centrol Station.

  • In this paper, we propose a remote controller for robot manipulator using local area network(LAN) and internet. To do this, we develope a server-client system as used in the network field. The client system is in any computer in remote place for the user to log-in the server and manage the remote factory. the server system is a computer which controls the manipulator and waits for a access from client. The server system consists of several control algorithms which is needed to drive the manipulator and networking system to transfer images that shows states of the work place, and to receive a Tmp data to run the manipulator. The client system consists of 3D(dimension) graphic user interface for teaching and off-line task like simulation, external hardware interface which makes it easier for the user to teach. Using this server-client system, the user who is on remote place can edit the work schedule of manipulator, then run the machine after it is transferred and monitor the results of the task.

  • This paper describes a remote monitoring and control system using mobile internet environments through TCP/IP. The server program acts as the main interface between the machine system and the internet technology. The client program is to be distributed to the remote users such as PDA who want to monitor the machine status. A server system is designed to send information of the faults and status of application system to the client part. Therefore, The client parts can take measures and control the system remotely according to the error and faults of system. We developed the client- serversystem for remote control of a green house environment.

  • In hazardous conditions, where entry of human operators is restricted, such as high radiation regions in nuclear facilities, a lot of remote inspections and remote handling tasks must be performed. In this study, the stereo imaging system has been developed and the remote handling technique, has been studied to enhance the efficiency of tele-operation. The nozzle dam handling robot is one of the most important robots applied to nuclear facility. The robot will be equipped with the developed stereo imaging system. The stereo imaging system will outstandingly improve the tele installing/removal tasks for nozzle dam.

  • This paper presents a CAN-based control system, which supports tole-operations over the Internet. As a result, CAN-based control systems are opened up for remote control, monitoring and maintenance using WWW-technology. Most of the system is written in JAVA because it is small, powerful package and can easily be reused in the whole system on different platforms and implemented in embedded system. The effectiveness of proposed method is demonstrated through the experiments using a CAN-based manipulator, which allow remote access for Web-based Java clients.
