A Study on the Remodeling Plans of Rural Villages for a Pleasant Settlement Environment (쾌적한 정주환경 조성을 위한 농촌마을 리모델링 추진 방안 연구)

  • This study, presents the details of a propulsion system for a systematic approach to the remodeling of rural villages as part of the pilot project that will be implemented in 2013. Studies on remodeling rural villages have focused mainly on various concepts of remodeling purposes and functions, and on the size and allocation standards of the facilities, such as rural houses, village rest areas, or public facilities. Thus, research is required on the establishment of a plan to restructure rural spaces and suggestions regarding the standards applicable at the local sites. This study employed an upward access system to prepare for the remodeling project and encourage the local residents' participation. As a result, the local residents voluntarily participated in drawing up a comprehensive plan for the village maintenance settings and forms, and for making the arrangements, by discussing the pros and cons of the plan, or through the forum. Based on this result, the local government examined the project in terms of its specifics, size, timing, budgetary appropriation, and anticipated results in order to implement the project, and also provided aid from the field experts to review the plan for the space and facility plans, and the legal system to establish the remodeling plan for the rural villages. Thus, this study attempts to contribute toward improving the quality of the rural villager's lives through a comprehensive remodeling of the whole rural village, not through an individual remodeling method.

A Study on Small Size Plans of Vertical Extension Remodeling for Aged Apartment (노후 공동주택 리모델링 수직증축분 소형 평면 계획에 대한 연구)

  • This study suggested practical considerations in case of planning Small-Sized Household Units of the Vertical Extension of Aged Apartment along with selecting particular Age-Apartment Complex to plan Small-Sized Household Units. Four parts of consideration; (1) Architectural planning aspects, (2) Resident aspects, (3) Structural aspects, and (4) Facility aspects were thoroughly examined to apply in the remodeling construction period. Proposals for Small-Sized Household Units, in this study, covered two different combinations. One was the combination of six equal units, the other was the combination of eleven different types of household units which reflected resident aspects in plan organizations. Plan organization proposal could be chosen and applied to Vertical Extended units by Local Government, Remodeling Association, or Constructor based on their potential residents' aspect, such as family size, life style, age, amount to income and etc. to fulfill their satisfaction. Furthermore, this study had great significance of the adequately reflecting demand on Small-Sized Household Units in Vertical Extension of Aged Apartment.

  • The major goal of this study is drawing design plan factors considering residents' life cycle and life style when remodeling design is needed. By drawing such design factors, the study will propose an alternative remodeling design plan. Such design method was defined as Multi-Dimensional module design method. And constructing data-system based on Multi-Dimensional module was secondary goal in this study. The details are as follows: Based on analysis of Residents' demand for remodeling and features of emotion-design applied to remodeling, the system which is suitable for application in remodeling design method was conducted. Based on the type of construction materials, the level value was set up according to emotion-factor application. Also, by conducting coding operation according to the distinction of construction materials, this study seeks the unit drawing method of information for constructing emotion-information system.

  • Remodeling is a process which creates a new environment based on the formal building. So we should reflect residents' demands faithfully and complement weak points of the formal building throughly, after grasping many problems, when we have a plan to do a remodeling.   • Due to economic or environmental reasons, green remodeling projects for old buildings are being actively carried out. Meanwhile, in the process of performing the green remodeling, the plan of green remodeling including passive and active elements has been decided based on the subjective experience and knowledge of engineers currently. Therefore, in this study, an ontology-based green remodeling decision-making support model, which can analyze the properties of old buildings and suggest appropriate remodeling plans, was established. In the developed model, once the basic properties of a building are entered, an appropriate remodeling plan composed of passive and active elements can be provided. By utilizing the results developed through the research, it is expected that it will be possible to support decision-making on more objective and appropriate remodeling alternatives development through web-based meta data search in accordance with the accumulation in remodeling cases.

  • The deteriorated high-rise apartments make a social problem in now days. As a result, an new alternative plan for deteriorated high-rise apartments such as the remodeling concept must be considered. This study aims to develop the remodeling items which is the guide lines when remodeling of the apartment will be conducted. Thorough the previous case studies of maintenance and repair status of the deteriorated apartments in Seoul, the analysis of the period of repair and improvement and the degree of request far remodeling items, reasonable guidelines for selection of remodeling items were developed. According to the ages of apartments As a result of the study, basic guidelines fur selection of remodeling items were proposed.

  • Recently, the demand of construction a new hospital is apt to decrease in the rate of increase. The demand changes quantitative expansion into seeking quality of more pleasant healing environment. Special conditions should be taken into consideration when we remodeling the hospital, because it has special and complicated equipment system. Also, newly invented medical instruments cause extension and reconstruction of a building, therefore construction of hospital continued growth and variation. Hospitals of small-to-middle size are changing to correspond on patients' request under these environment. Now we have little awareness and experience about remodeling yet, and systematic research is insufficient. Therefore, this study is aiming to purpose a data of future hospital construction plan and suitable hospital remodeling's plan direction through analysis of done medium and small scale hospitals.

  • This study aims to establish the concept about a new approaching method dor remodeling in the planning step. also, this study sets up the way how to approach in a dimensional way by classifying the conceptual composition of the target housing as a method. The dimensional definition is as below. The one dimensional approach: the spot. the two dimensional approach: the line, the three dimensional approach: the apatial mass, the four dimensional approach: space + time, the n dimensional (multi-dimensional) approach: the space + time + emotion. The research findings are as follows : For the purpose of remodeling, the old housing should be viewed in the three dimensional shape and space. It is defined as multi-dimensional module method to design the shape and space of the target housing in a multi-dimensional point, considering the three dimensional space composition, the emotion of the user, the housing itself. and the time of the user.

A Study on Preference of Apartments Remodeling Items for Reducing Construction Waste (건설폐기물 발생저감을 위한 공동주택 리모델링 항목의 선호도에 대한 연구)

  • Since the Enforcement Decree of the Housing Act was changed in 2007, remodeling demands have increased. For this reason, many research studies are actively discussed for vitalizing remodeling, but countermeasure plan for generated construction waste is not enough. This study aims to provide basic data for the reduction plan of construction waste caused by the remodeling project through the investigation of apartments residents' priorities about remodeling elements for reducing construction waste. In this study, remodeling elements have been drawn through the literature investigation. As a result, subordinates were classified into 21 elements and superordinate were classified into 6 elements. Expert interviews were conducted to check the reliability about subordinate and superordinate elements of remodeling and the questionnaire survey were conducted to determine the residents preference of apartments remodeling elements. As a result of the questionnaire survey, we found out the characteristic of preference for apartments remodeling elements such as the period of apartment, the location and the financial condition respectively. This study presents a basic data for considering the remodeling as well as the apartment plans for the resident's preference. Further, many studies about the reduction plan of construction waste caused by the remodeling project will have to be discussed.

  • This study analyzed the remodeling cases of 53 public primary schools located in Seoul to grasp the trends and set the direction in remodeling public primary schools. As a result of the analysis, before the sixth Education Process major remodeling of schools was focused on increasing the number of classrooms and after the sixth Education Process public space was increased. According to development of education, frequency of remodeling is increased. But myopic remodeling works were not a surprise. It means the schools simply focused on increasing space. Therefore, the study aims to set the direction for a comprehensive and systemic remodeling plan which will serve as an opportunity to not only improve physical life of schools but also extend functional life and enhance the quality of educational environment.
