중등학생들의 자연에 대한 인식론적 관점과 존재론적 관점 (Secondary School Students' Epistemological View and Ontological View about Nature)

  • 이 연구는 중등학생들이 가지고 있는 자연에 대한 관점중 인식론적 관점과 존재론적 관점과 그러한 관점의 원인을 알아보고자 하였다. 156명의 중등학생들이 참여했고, 자료는 설문지를 통해 수집되었다. 이 설문지는 선행연구에 기초하여 연구자들에 의해 개발되었다. 연구 결과, 중등학생들의 자연에 대한 관점 중에는 자연은 알 수 없다는 인식론적 관점이 가장 많았다. 이러한 관점의 근원은 자연의 규칙성과 조화, 예측 가능한 자연 현상, 자연 현상의 순환 과정이나 인과 관계, 자연과 인간과의 관계 등으로 매우 다양하였다. 중등학생들의 존재론적 관점에는 초자연적인 관점이 가장 많았다. 존재론적 관점들 중에서 학생들의 초자연적 관점은 그들의 신학적 측면의 영향이 광범위하게 나타났다. 과학이 다루는 세상이면서 동시에 과학의 대상물이 존재하는 물질세계인 자연에 대한 인식론적 관점과 존재론적 관점은 학습자가 과학 학습을 어떻게 이해하는지에 대한 바탕을 제공하는 중요한 자료가 된다. 앞으로 학생들이 가지고 있는 자연에 대한 인식론적 관점과 존재론적 관점과 그들의 과학 학습 과정 사이의 관련성의 연구가 필요하다.

Factors Affecting Cervical Cancer Screening Uptake by Hmong Hilltribe Women in Thailand

  • Background: Cervical cancer is relatively common in Thai women, but the proportion of females receiving Pap smear screening is still low. Objective: The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to study factors related to cervical cancer screening uptake by Hmong hilltribe women in Lomkao District, Phetchabun Province. Materials and Methods: Interview data were collected from 547 of these women aged 30-60 years living in the study area and analyzed using multiple logistic regression. Results: The results showed that 64.9% of the study sample had received screening, and that 47.2% had attended due to a cervical screening campaign. The most common reason given for not receiving screening was lack of time (21.4%). The factors found to be positively associated with uptake (p value <0.05) were as follows: number of years of school attendance (OR=1.56, 95%CI:1.02-2.38), animistic religious beliefs (OR=0.55, 95%CI:0.33-0.91), a previous pregnancy (OR=6.20, 95%CI:1.36-28.35), receipt of information about cervical cancer screening (OR=2.25, 95%CI:1.35-3.76), and perceived risk of developing cervical cancer (OR=1.83, 95%CI:1.25-2.67). Conclusions: To promote the uptake of cervical screening, Hmong hilltribe women need to know more about cervical cancer and cervical cancer screening, and access to screening services should be provided in conjunction with existing everyday services, such as family planning and routine blood pressure monitoring or diabetes services.

민간검진 서비스의 이용현황과 결정요인 (The Determinants of the Use of Opportunistic Screening Programs in Korea)

  • Objectives : Both organized and opportunistic screening programs have been widely used in Korea. This paper examined the determinants of the use of opportunistic screening programs in Korea. Methods : The subjects were a national stratified random sample of 10,254 people aged 45 or older from the first wave of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing in 2006. A logit model was used to examine the determinants of the use of opportunistic screening programs in terms of the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics, the type of health insurance and the health status. Results : Thirteen point seven percent of the individuals received opportunistic screening programs within 2 years from the time the survey was conducted in 2006. The individuals who graduated from college or who had even more education were 3.0 times more likely to use opportunistic screening programs compared with the individuals who were illiterate. The individuals who resided in urban areas and who had religious beliefs were more likely to receive opportunistic screening programs compared with their counterparts. Those who were in the first quartile for the total household assets were 2.6 times more likely to use opportunistic screening programs than those who were in the fourth quartile for the total household assets. Privately insured people were 1.6 times more likely to use opportunistic screening programs than those who were not insured. Finally, the individuals who self-assessed their health status as worst were 2.1 times more likely to use opportunistic screening programs compared individuals who self-assessed their health status as best. Conclusions : This study suggests that opportunistic screening programs can be an indicator for whether or not an individual is among the advantaged group in terms of their socioeconomic characteristics and type of health insurance.

테헤란 스트리트에 나타난 패션 아이템 히잡 연구 (A Study on the Hijab as a Fashion Item in the Tehran Street)

  • Hijab as a symbol of women's oppression due to the opening and reform of Islamic State group, is becoming more diverse as younger generation begins to dress more freely than ever before, spreading the perception that it is a fashion item. In response, this research conducted a theoretical review about the history of hijab, various forms of hijab, and characteristics of hijab using relevant literature, media reports, and fashion media articles. As an empirical study, image-oriented photo data shared by Tehran Street Fashion from 2015 to November 2019 were analyzed separately by fashion majors into color, pattern, and hijab-making forms. According to the analysis, six different fashion images were categorized as romantic feminine, modern chic, natural elegant, classic formal, sporty casual and gorgeous ethnic. For Muslim women in the past, hijab was worn as a repressive and closed sense by the religious system. However, in modern times, it is a way to express one's style and ideas as a fashion item. It is also and a means to express one's thoughts and beliefs. Through aesthetic consideration of Hijab as a fashion item, it was found that it was a medium for freedom of expression and a medium for beauty and individuality.

어린이집 운영관리 과정에 나타난 원장의 의사결정 (A Study about How Child Care Directors Make Decisions during their Operating Hours)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 어린이집 원장의 의사결정에 영향을 주는 것은 무엇인지 알아보고자 하는 것이다. 연구 참여자는 서울시와 경기도에 위치한 어린이집 원장 7명을 대상으로 하였으며, 개별적인 심층면접을 사용하여 어린이집 원장의 의사결정 기준에 관해 알아보았다. 연구결과는 어린이집 원장들의 의사결정에 영향을 주는 것은 원장 외부와 내부에서 찾아볼 수 있었다. 외부에서 찾아보면, 법적기준 준수, 부모요구 수용, 교사와 협력, 외부의 조언 수용, 현실적 여건 수용으로 나타났다. 내부에서 찾아보면, 원장의 운영철학, 원장 개인의 신앙, 원장의 개인적 경험으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 어린이집 원장이 우수한 보육환경을 제공할 수 있도록 도와주기 위한 정책의 수립과 교육자료 개발을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 그 의미가 있다.

진화론과 문학: 은유, 서사, 마음의 재발견 (Evolutionism and Literature: Rediscovery of Metaphor, Narrative, and Mind)

  • 과학이 문학에 끼친 영향은 비교적 친숙한 주제로서 이에 관해 많은 연구가 이루어져 왔으며, 그 가운데에서 다윈 진화론이 문학에 끼친 영향은 19세기 역사와 두 문화 연구자들한테 흥미로운 주제가 되어 왔다. 이 글은 기존의 주요한 연구 흐름을 정리하며 19세기 영국과 근대 한국의 계몽문학에 나타난 다윈 진화론의 영향을, 몇 가지 주요 특징을 중심으로 개관한다. 또한 진화론이 문학뿐 아니라 문학을 바라보는 관점까지 바꾸어놓았다는 점에서, 문학 행위 자체를 마음 진화의 소산으로 바라보는 진화심리학의 문학비평 관점을 함께 살핀다. 특히 이 글은 진화론의 영향과 연관된 시와 소설의 변화가 사회와 개인이 처한 상황과 종교적, 사회적 믿음에 따라 다양한 모습으로 나타났다는 점, 그리고 자연, 인간, 진화의 재발견을 통한 서사, 은유, 마음의 재인식이 문학 격동의 바탕을 이루고 있었다는 점을 보여주고자 한다.

종교 전파에 따른 복식 변용에 대한 연구 - 인도, 인도네시아 복식에 반영된 이슬람 복식의 영향을 중심으로 - (The Application and Modification of Costumes Influenced by the Spread of Religion - Focused on the Costumes of India and Indonesia by the Influence of Islamic Costumes -)

  • The norm for everyday costume in India and Indonesia had consisted of either draped garments or loincloths. However, as the Islamic values spread in these countries various tailored clothes began to be worn. In order to study this spread of tailored clothes, the researcher first looked at the historical background which was the origin of Islamic costumes and its unique traits through the works of literature. Based on these findings, the researcher tried to identify the Islamic elements in the costumes of India and Indonesia. The researcher put forward the following conclusion: In India, people began to wear Islamic costumes after the establishment of Mughul Empire (1526~1857) in the 16th century, despite the Islamic invasion in the early 8th century. The pants that the ruling class of Islam wore such as shalwar, churidar and coats in the style of kaftan as well as turban spread quickly throughout the nation and now they are important part of Indian traditional costumes. Also in Indonesia, people began to wear tailored clothes as they accepted Islamic faith. The Indonesian costumes which exposed the upper body part may have been suitable for the climate but it was inappropriate according to the Islamic precepts. The religious beliefs led to the creation of the unique Indonesian sarong, wraps such as kain panjang and a new type of traditional costumes that combined the elements of pants or tunic from the Islamic culture.

한·중 전통식 레스토랑에의 전통장식요소 적용현황 비교 (The Application Status of the Traditional Decorative Components in Restaurants of Korea and China)

  • In these days, restaurants are not simply used as a physical space but used as a cultural space in which people can enjoy and experience different cultures and traditional images. Moreover, from the restaurants design elements which help to form the atmosphere of the restaurants which serve food of specific country, we can see the history and traditions of that country. The additional value of the traditional decorative components which are the main factors forming the atmosphere of the restaurant will be different according to the various expressions used in the restaurant space. For this article, 12 restaurants, Norangjugory korean restaurant, Yongsusan korean restaurant, Best well-bing food restaurant, Awoolim, Mugunhwa, Ondal in Korea, and Songhelou, South Beauty, Xuxian restaurant & lounge, Beijing dadong roast duck restaurant, The horizon chinese restaurant, Dynasty jade garden in China, were selected for the field study. This study focused on a comparative analysis of the traditional decorative elements, especially, the application rate of the traditional decorative elements. The analyzed elements are nature, religious beliefs, history and culture for the intangible elements and facade, courtyard, trademark, ground, wall, ceiling, door, window, furniture and adornment for the tangible elements. After that, we analyzed the rates of the use of traditional decorative elements and modern decorative elements. Through the survey result and ratio analysis, we concluded as below. In Korean restaurant, traditionality is expressed in furnitures while, in Chinese restaurant, traditionality is expressed in decorative pattern. When it comes to the intangible elements among the traditional decorative components of the Korean and Chinese restaurants, Chinese and Korean restaurants have similarities in emphasizing the natural elements. Korean restaurants focus much on the environmentally friendly parts, while Chinese restaurants focus much on the fantastic natural atmospheres like those shown and expressed in the poems. As for religion characteristics, Chinese restaurants emphasize "geomancy" more than Korean restaurant. When it comes to the visible elements among the traditional decorative components of the Korean and Chinese restaurants, in Korean restaurants, the interior part has more traditionality than exterior part, while in Chinese restaurants, the exterior part has more traditionality than the interior part.

노인건강행위와 관련요인간의 관계 (Health Behavior in the Aged and Related Variables)

  • 본 연구는 노인의 건강행위와 관련이 있는 지각된 건강상태, 자아존중감, 자기효능감, 사회적지지간의 관계를 알아보고, 노인건강행위에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하기 위해서 시행 되었다. 2008년 6월부터 7월까지 대전 충남에 거주하는 65세 이상 남녀 노인을 대상으로 271명을 조사하였다. 연구결과, 종교를 가진 노인이 건강행위가 좋은 것으로 나타났고, 배우자가 있고 학력이 높은 노인이 지각된 건강상태가 좋은 것으로 조사되었다. 또한, 여자 노인이 남자 노인보다, 학력이 높은 노인이 학력이 낮은 노인보다 자기효능감이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 노인건강행위와 지각된 건강상태, 자아존중감, 자기효능감간에 유의한 상관관계가 있었고, 지각된 건강상태와 자아존중감, 자기효능감간에 유의한 상관관계가 있었으며, 자아존중감과 자기효능감간에도 유의한 상관관계가 있었다. 노인건강행위에 영향을 미치는 중요한 변수는 자아존중감으로 확인되었다. 본 연구의 제한점과 시사점, 추후 과제가 논의되었다.

청년층 세대 비교로 살펴본 가족 건강성과 기능 요구도: 1차 및 2차 에코부머를 중심으로 (A generational comparison of young adults' needs for family strengths and functions : A study on 1st and 2nd echoboomers)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare the first echo boomer to second in the needs for family strengths and family functions, after controlling the sociodemographic characteristics. Method: For this study, a survey was conducted with 406 never-married young adults, which has 182 first echo boomers and 224 seconds echo boomers as using the same self-report questionnaire. Results: First, the two echo boomer groups exhibited similar patterns in their perception of the three family strengths, positive family values, pursuit of coexistence, and spiritual value, in that order. On the other hand, in regard to family functions, groups' perceived emotion entertainment leisure function as core functions of the family, but the second echo boomers, unlike the first echo boomers, expressed a higher need for economic functions rather than functions for children generation. Second, the analysis of this study indicated that, even in cases where first and second echo boomers had the same social-demographic characteristics, the latter in contrast with the former tended not to regard spiritual values such love for shared ethical values, compassion, and religious beliefs as a family strength, and did not require functions for children generation of the family. Conclusions: From these findings, the differences in the needs for family strengths and functions expressed by the two generations belonging to two different birth cohorts were influenced by various changes in Korean society occurring between the two generations, such as the social divergence in the functions of care and nurture, the increase in one-person and childless households, and the weakening of kinship-centered or communitarian forms of familism.
