Evaluating contradictory relationship between floor rotation and torsional irregularity coefficient under varying orientations of ground motion

  • Different incident angles of ground motions have been considered to evaluate the relationship between floor rotation and torsional irregularity coefficient. The issues specifically addressed are (1) variability in torsional irregularity coefficient and floor rotations with varying incident angles of ground motion (2) contradictory relationship between floor rotation and torsional irregularity coefficient. To explore the stated issues, an evaluation based on relative variation in seismic response quantities of linear asymmetric structure under the influence of horizontal bi-directional excitation with varying seismic orientations has been carried out using response history analysis. Several typical earthquake records are applied to the structure to demonstrate the relative variations of floor rotation and torsional irregularity coefficient for different seismic orientations. It is demonstrated that (1) Torsional irregularity coefficient (TIC) increases as the story number decreases when the ground motion is considered along reference axes of the structure. For incident angles other than structure's reference axes, TIC either decreases as the story number decreases or there is no specific trend for TIC. Floor rotation increases in proportion to the story number when the ground motion is considered along reference axes of structure. For incident angles other than structure's reference axes, floor rotation either decreases as the story number increases or there is no specific trend for floor rotation and (2) TIC and floor rotation seems to be approximately inversely proportional to each other when the ground motion is considered along reference axes of the structure. For incident angles other than structure's reference axes, the relationship can even become directly proportional instead of inversely proportional.

롤러기어캠 기구를 위한 회전운동형 롤러 종동절을 가진 원통 캠의 형상 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Shape Design of Cylindrical Cam with Rotating Roller Follower in Roller-Gear-Cam Mechanism)

  • When a mechanism transfers a motion to an intersected shaft, a cylindrical cam mechanism may be the best choice among the mechanisms. The cylindrical cam with a roller follower provides to transfer the motions to the intersect shafts simply without other connecting equipments of the intersect shafts. Typical example may be a roller-gear-cam mechanism. But the shape of the cam must be exactly defined in order to satisfy the conditions for the prescribed motion of the follower. This paper proposes a new method for the shape design of the cylindrical cams and also a CAD program is developed by using the proposed method. The relative velocity method calculates the relative velocity of the follower versus the cam at a center of roller, and then determines a contact point by using the geometric relationships and the kinematic constraints. The constraint used in the relative velocity method is that the relative velocity must be parallel to a common tangent line at the contact point of two independent bodies, i. e. the cam and the follower. Then, the shape of the cam is defined by the coordinate transformation of the trace of the contact points. Finally, this paper presents an example in order to prove the accuracy of the proposed methods in this paper and the application of the CAD program"CamDesign".

Temporal Transfer of Locomotion Style

  • Timing plays a key role in expressing the qualitative aspects of a character's motion; that is, conveying emotional state, personality, and character role, all potentially without changing spatial positions. Temporal editing of locomotion style is particularly difficult for a novice animator since observers are not well attuned to the sense of weight and energy displayed through motion timing; and the interface for adjusting timing is far less intuitive to use than that for adjusting pose. In this paper, we propose an editing system that effectively captures the timing variations in an example locomotion set and utilizes them for style transfer from one motion to another via both global and upper-body timing transfers. The global timing transfer focuses on matching the input motion to the body speed of the selected example motion, while the upper-body timing transfer propagates the sense of movement flow - succession - through the torso and arms. Our transfer process is based on key times detected from the example set and transferring the relative changes of angle rotation in the upper body joints from a timing source to an input target motion. We demonstrate that our approach is practical in an interactive application such that a set of short locomotion cycles can be applied to generate a longer sequence with continuously varied timings.

전달함수을 이용한 유정압테이블 운동정밀도 해석법의 제안 및 이론적 검증 (Proposal and Theoretical Verification on Motion Error Analysis Method of Hydrostatic Tables Using Transfer Function)

  • A new model utilizing a transfer function is introduced in the present paper for analizing motion errors of hydrostatic tables. Relationship between film reaction force in a single hydrostatic pad and form error of a guide rail is derived at various spacial frequencies by finite element analysis, and it is expressed as a transfer function. This transfer function clarifies so called averaging effect of the oil film quantitively. For example, it is found that the amplitide of the film reaction farce is reduced as the spacial frequency increases or relative width of the pocket is reduced. Motion errors of a multiple pad table is estimated from transfer function, geomatric relationship between each pads and form errors of a guide rail, which is named as Transfer Function Method(TFM). Calculated motion errors by TFM show good agreement with motion errors calculated by Multi Pad Method, which is considered entire table as an analysis object. From the results, it is confirmed that the proposed TFM is very effective to analyze the motion errors of hydrostatic tables.

  • A new method using a transfer function is introduced in the present paper for analyzing the motion errors of hydrostatic bearing tables. The relationship between film reaction force in a single-side hydrostatic pad and the form error of guide rail is derived at various spatial frequencies by finite element analysis, and it is expressed as a transfer function. This transfer function clarifies so called 'the averaging effect of an oil film' quantitively. It is found that the amplitude of film force is reduced as the spatial frequency increases or the relative width of the pocket is reduced. The motion errors of a multi pad type table are estimated using a transfer function, the form errors of a guide rail and the geometric relationship between the pads. 움직임열화를 갖는 영상의 화질개선을 위한 객체기반 영상복원기법 (Object-based Image Restoration Method for Enhancing Motion Blurred Images)

  • 일반적으로 동영상은 물체의 움직임에 의해 움직임 열화를 겪는다. 본 논문의 목적은 이러한 움직임 열화의 해석을 위한 모델을 제시하고 정칙화된 반복 기법을 이용하여 이를 제거하기위한 복원방식을 제안하는 것이다. 제안된 모델에서는 기존의 공간 불변적인 모델의 한계를 극복하기 위하여 움직이는 물체와 정지된 배경과의 경계에서 일어나는 현상을 수학적으로 해석하게 된다. 그리고 복원 과정에서의 객체기반적 처리를 위하여 움직임을 기반으로 하는 영상 분할 기법을 소개하는데, 이 기법은 기존의 연구를 바탕으로 본 연구에 맞도록 응용하여 사용한다. 제안된 모델을 근거로 한 영상복원 기법은 제약조건을 이용한 반복적 방법으로서 사전에 추정된 열화정보를 이용하여 움직임 열화를 제거하개 된다. 제안된 방법의 성능은 실험결과로서 확인할 수 있다.

스트랩다운 탐색기를 장착한 전술유도탄의 UKF 기반 종말호밍 유도 (Terminal Homing Guidance of Tactical Missiles with Strapdown Seekers Based on an Unscented Kalman Filter)

  • 일반적인 전술유도탄에서 표적획득 센서로 사용되는 김발형 탐색기(Gimballed Seeker) 는 탐색기의 표적획득부가 유도탄의 동체운동과는 독립적으로 관성좌표계 상에서 표적을 지향하게 하여 비례항법 유도명령 생성에 필요한 유도탄/표적간의 시선 각속도 정보를 직접 제공한다. 반면 최근에는 탐색기 전체가 유도탄 동체에 고정됨으로써 정비보수 용이, 고장수리 감소, 단가감소 측면 등에서 유리한 동체고정 탐색기(Strapdown Seeker)에 대한 연구가 부분적으로 수행되고 있다. 그런데 동체고정 탐색기에서는 비례항법에 필요한 시선각속도가 직접주어지지 않고 탐색기 영상 평면에 맺힌 표적영상으로부터 유도명령생성에 필요한 정보를 추출하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 스트랩다운 탐색기로부터 주어지는 표적정보를 바탕으로 언센티드 칼만필터(Unscented Kalman Filter, UKF)를 적용하여 유도탄과 표적간의 상대운동을 추정한다. 추정된 상대운동 정보를 이용하여 유도명령을 생성하고 유도탄과 표적간의 조우운동을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 무중력하에서 자유운동하는 물체의 화상정보로부터 그 운동을 추정할 때의 특징점의 대응점을 선택과 샘플링 주기를 설정하는 방법을 제안하였다. 관성 좌표계를 우주 로봇에 내장된 카메라 좌표계로 치환하여 화상에서 구해진 정보로부터 대응점 문제를 해석하고, 대상 물체의 운동을 결정하는 각속도 vector $\omega$를 구하는 것이 가능하다는 것을 시뮬레이션에 의하여 조사하였다. 또한, 특징점의 운동거리에 대한 상대오차가 양자화에 의해서 증가하기 때문에 샘플링 주기 ${\Delta}t$가 짧으면 각속도의 상대오차는 증가한다. 역으로 샘플링 주기 ${\Delta}t$가 너무 길어져도 각속도가 근사화될 때 샘를링 주기가 길기 때문에 오차가 증가한다. 한편, 정밀도는 해상도가 증가함에 따라 증가한다는 것을 확인하였다.

Numerical Study on Characteristics and Control of Heading Angle of Floating LNG Bunkering Terminal for Improvement of Loading and Off-loading Performance

  • In this study, heading characteristics and heading control performances were evaluated to achieve the wave shield effect. The wave shield effect originating from heading control reduces the relative motions of moored vessels in a floating liquefied natural gas bunkering terminal (FLBT). Therefore, loading and off-loading performances are improved through reduced relative motion. For the objective of this study and efficiency of the analysis, a simplified model was used that assuming no relative motion of the moored vessels in the FLBT. The simplified model involved modeling the environmental loads and inertia of several floating bodies, including FLBT, into the environmental loads and inertia of a single vessel. The simplified model was validated through comparisons with model tests. With the simplified model, heading characteristics and heading control simulations were performed using low-frequency planar motion equations. The heading characteristics and heading control performances of FLBT were analyzed through the results of simulations under the expected environmental conditions. The capacity of the tunnel thrust for the heading control performance was confirmed to be adequate for improvement of the loading and off-loading performances using the wave shielding effects under the operation conditions.

상대운동이 있는 중첩격자계에 효율적인 Hole Searching Algorithm 개발 (Efficient Hole Searching Algorithm for the Overset Grid System with Relative Body Motion)

  • Overset 격자계에서 사용되는 Object X-rays Method는 홀점 탐색의 일부인 교차점 탐색에 복잡한 벡터계산을 사용하고 개별 배경격자점에 대하여 물체 내외부를 판별하여 홀점을 탐색하므로 많은 시간이 소요된다. 특히 격자의 상대운동이 있을 경우 매 시간간격 마다 홀점 탐색을 수행해야 하므로 계산 시간이 가중된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 홀점 탐색시간을 줄일 수 있는 효율적인 탐색 알고리즘을 제안한다. 빠른 탐색을 위해 격자점 수가 줄어든 가상의 표면을 사용하고 복잡한 벡터계산을 통한 교차점 탐색 대신 논리연산자를 사용하는 내외부 판별법을 사용하였다. 또한 개별 배경격자점에 대해 홀점 판별을 수행하는 대신 일괄로 홀점을 지정하여 탐색속도를 향상시켰다. 물체의 상대운동이 있을 경우 가상의 표면이 상대 운동하여 기존 방법에 비해서 홀점 탐색시간을 감소시킬 수 있었다. 임의의 2차원, 3차원 형상에 대하여 기존의 hole searching 알고리즘과 홀점 탐색속도를 비교한 결과를 제시하였다.
