A Study on the Phase Change of Cubic Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7(c-BZN) and the Corresponding Change in Dielectric Properties According to the Addition of Li2CO3 (Li2CO3 첨가에 따른 입방정 Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7(c-BZN)의 상 변화 및 그에 따른 유전특성 변화 연구)

  • A novel low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) dielectric, composed of (1-4x)Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7-3xBi2Zn2/3Nb4/3O7-2xLiZnNbO4 (x=0.03-0.21), was synthesized through reactive liquid phase sintering of Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7-xLi2CO3 ceramic at temperatures ranging from 850℃ to 920℃ for 4 hours. During sintering, Li2CO3 reacted with Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7, resulting in the formation of Bi2Zn2/3Nb4/3O7, and LiZnNbO4. The resulting sintered body exhibited a relative sintering density exceeding 96% of the theoretical density. By altering the initial Li2CO3 content (x) and consequently modulating the volume fraction of Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7, Bi2Zn2/3Nb4/3O7, and LiZnNbO4 in the final sintered body, a sample with high dielectric constant (εr), low dielectric loss (tan δ), and the temperature coefficient of dielectric constant (TCε) characterized by NP0 specification (TCε ≤ ±30 ppm/℃) was achieved. As the Li2CO3 content increased from x=0.03 mol to x=0.15 mol, the volume fraction of Bi2Zn2/3Nb4/3O7 and LiZnNbO4 in the composite increased, while the volume fraction of Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7 decreased. Consequently, the dielectric constant (εr) of the composite materials varied from 148.38 to 126.99, the dielectric loss (tan δ) shifted from 5.29×10-4 to 3.31×10-4, and the temperature coefficient of dielectric constant (TCε) transitioned from -340.35 ppm/℃ to 299.67 ppm/℃. A dielectric exhibiting NP0 characteristics was achieved at x=0.09 for Li2CO3, with a dielectric constant (εr) of 143.06, a dielectric loss (tan δ) value of 4.31×10-4, and a temperature coefficient of dielectric constant (TCε) value of -9.98 ppm/℃. Chemical compatibility experiment with Ag electrode revealed that the developed composite material exhibited no reactivity with the Ag electrode during the co-firing process.

The Weathering and Chemical Composition of Young Residual Entisols in Korea (잔적 암쇄토의 화학조성과 풍화도)

  • The weathering rates and change of chemical composition of 6 residual Entisols derived from granite, granite-gneiss, limestone, sandstone, shale, amd basalt in Korea were studied. The chemical composition of each profile with parent rocks were determined using XRF with the physico-chemical properties and the morphology of soils. In the A horizons of all the soils except Euiseong series, the content of clay, organic matter and cation exchange capacity(CEC) showed higher than those of C horizon, but bulk density and pH showed lower than C horizon. Clay content in the soil from sandstone was decrease with soil depth, which may caused by the elluriation. In total element analysis. $SiO_2$ was high in the soil from granite. granite-gneiss, sandstone and compare with basalt and limestone. $Fe_2O_3$ and MgO was high in the soil from basalt, limestone and shale compare with granite. granite-gneiss and sandstone. And ignition loss was particularly high in the soil from basalt and limestone. The rate of element loss was higher in base cations(Ca, K, Mg, Na) than Si, Al, Fe in the soils. The concentrations of $TiO_2$ in the A horizon compare with that of the C horizon was due to resulting from losses of other less stable elements existed. Considering with relative rate of each elements in soils, $SiO_2$ and $Al_2O_3$ which originated from sandstone and granite, granite-gneiss, sandstone, shale, and basalt were lost higher than those from lime tone, but loss of basic cations were more in the soil from limestone which may be rapid weathering of calcite. The magnitude of losses of the overall elements were increased in the order of the soils from sandstone and granite ${\gg}$ limestone and shale) granite-gneiss and basalt.

A Case Study for the Utilization of Food Safety Health Indicators in Korea: Computation of Composite Indices to Verify Important Indicators and Understand Correlations with Socioeconomic Status (우리나라 식품안전보건지표를 활용한 사례연구: 다양한 통합지수 산출을 통한 주요 지표 확인 및 사회경제적 지위와의 상관성 파악)

  • Food-Health indicators have been developed and utilized internationally in the 'Food' domain of environment and health indicators. In Korea, however, Food Safety Health Indicators which are in the introductory stage had been developed separately from Environmental Health Indicators. The aim of the current study is to suggest feasible applications of the domestic Food Safety Health Indicators as a case study. We introduced 3 possible applications which are as follows: 1) production of two types of Integrated Food Safety Health Index; 2) conduction of correlation analysis between the Integrated Food Safety Health Index and Food Safety Health Indicators; 3) conduction of regression analysis to evaluate the relationship between the Integrated Food Safety Health Index and socioeconomic status. As a result, we provided the calculated Integrated Food Safety Health Index I and Integrated Food Safety Health Index II, which represents the regional food safety level in relative and absolute terms, respectively. Integrated Food Safety Health Index I was significantly correlated with the outbreaks of food-borne diseases (caused by Campylobacter jejuni, Bacillus cereus, Salmonella spp. and unknown cause) and incidence of E.coli infections. Integrated Food Safety Health Index II significantly decreased as the proportion of foreigners and women increased, and increased as the population density increased. Utilization of such Integrated Food Safety Health Indicators may be helpful in understanding the overall domestic food safety level and identifying the indicators which must be considered with priorities to enhance the food safety levels regionally and domestically. Furthermore, analyzing the association between Integrated Food Safety Health Index and factors other than food safety could be useful in conducting risk management and identifying susceptible populations. Food Safety Health Indicators can be useful in other applications, and may serve as a supporting material in establishing or modifying policy plans to enhance food safety. Therefore, keen interests by researchers accompanied by further studies on food safety health indicators are needed.
