The experimented rangefinder consist of sets of V/A-Code GPS and sets of L1 C/A-code & carrier phase receivers connected by two spread spectrum radio modems in order to measure relative range and bearing between two ship antennas by real time, comparing and analyzing accuracy of both GPS receivers at the fix point on the land by means of executing zero baseline test by C/A code and by carrier phase as well as measuring distance range 5m, 10m, 15m between each other receivers. The results from the measurement of relative range and bearing are as follows as ;1. According to the results from zero baseline test, the average error by C/A-code receiver is less than 0.1m, which proves theories from published books but when each GPS receivers track different satellites, the range accuracy error becomes up to 100m by means of S/A. Because of this sudden wide range error, rangefinder is not appropriate at relative range measurement without additional modification of the algorism of the GPS receiver itself.2. According to relative range measurement by Carrier Phase and zero baseline test at static condition, the range error is less than 3.5cm in case that it passes more than 5 minutes after GPS sets can track simultaneously more than 6 satellites. Its main reason is understood that the phase center of antenna is bigger than geodetic antenna.3. When range measurement of two receivers from 5m, to 10m to 15m, the each range error is 0.340m, 0.190m, 0.011m and each standard variation is 0.0973m, 0.0884m, 0.0790m. The range error and standard variation are in inverse proportion to distance between two receivers. 4. L1 Carrier Phase GPS generally needs 5 minutes to fix and during this ambiguity search, the relative range and bearing angle is shown to be various.

The sea-surface winds during the passage of 64 typhoons for 1979-1999 were simulated using two different typhoon wind models, ie, typhoon parametric model(TPM) and primitive vortex model(PVM). The model hindcast winds were compared with the winds observed at JMA ocean buoys(22001 and 21002) and Kyushu ocean observation tower. The analysis of ms and relative errors between hindcast and observed winds was made to find the accuracy and sensitivity of the typhoon wind prediction models. Both hindcast winds of TPM and PVM underestimate the observed typhoon winds, but PVM winds are more closer to the observations with less rms and relative errors. Relative errors of two model winds were small within 200km from typhoon center, but TPM's relative errors increase up to 70% as the radial distance from typhoon center increases beyond > 200km although PVM's relative errors remain in 20% with less sensitive to the distance from typhoon centers.

This paper presents a fuzzy neural network model which solves the underutilization problem. This fuzzy neural network has both stability and flexibility because it uses the control structure similar to AHT(Adaptive Resonance Theory)-l neural network. And this fuzzy nenral network does not need to initialize weights and is less sensitive to noise than ART-l neural network is. The learning rule of this fuzzy neural network is the modified and fuzzified version of Kohonen learning rule and is based on the fuzzification of leaky competitive leaming and the fuzzification of conditional probability. The similarity measure of vigilance test, which is performed after selecting a winner among output neurons, is the relative distance. This relative distance considers Euclidean distance and the relative location between a datum and the prototypes of clusters. To compare the performance of the proposed fuzzy neural network with that of Kohonen Self-Organizing Feature Map the IRIS data and Gaussian-distributed data are used.
This study sought to determine the changes in weather conditions in urban streets, along with conditions of traffic and roads in urban areas. The variations in weather conditions depending on traffic differed according to distance. First, the temperature difference measured by traffic results is as follows: T1 point $1.03^{\circ}C$, T2 point $1.04^{\circ}C$, T3 point $0.9^{\circ}C$, T4 point $1.01^{\circ}C$, and T5 point $0.31^{\circ}C$. The average difference between the measured temperatures by the point of measurement was $0.86^{\circ}C$. The changes in wind velocity according to traffic volume results of the measurements is T1 point 1.32 m/s, T2 point 0.80 m/s, T3 point 0.29 m/s, T4 point 0.04 m/s, and T5 point 0.09 m/s. The difference between the average wind speeds was 0.51 m/s and traffic jams caused substantial differences in distance. The relative humidity tended to be inversely proportional to temperature. The measurements results ares T1 point 2.29%, T2 point 2.67%, T3 point 2.47%, T4 point 2.16%, and T5 point 0.91% The difference between the average relative humidity was 7.3%. In case of independent sampling T test according to traffic volume, changes in wind velocity and temperature were directly proportional to the level of statistical significance(p<0.01). On the other hand, relative humidity tended to be inversely proportional; however, there was no statistical significance.
The proposed system in this paper uses a camera attached to a mobile device in order to inquire a car and track its location anywhere. To do this, the system recognizes and verifies license plates on the front and back of a cu. The plates are scanned by the camera attached to a mobile device. The technology enables us to detect a car registration number and to transmit the number along with the location of the device to a server through a wireless communication network. The information of a car obtained through the terminal is encoded and transmitted to a server in a remote place through a wireless communication network also. The car registration number and its location information are decoded and transmitted as a text to the server in a remote place. In order to track a user´s location through spatial relative distance estimated in real-time, the server uses the spatial and attribute information which are the most prior to the desired data value. With this property information, the right location can be calculated.
The purpose of this study is to extract the type, location, and absolute size of an object in an image using a deep learning algorithm, predict the relative distance between objects, and use this to detect contact between objects. To analyze the size ratio of objects, YOLO, a CNN-based object detection algorithm, is used. Through the YOLO algorithm, the absolute size and position of an object are extracted in the form of coordinates. The extraction result extracts the ratio between the size in the image and the actual size from the standard object-size list having the same object name and size stored in advance, and predicts the relative distance between the camera and the object in the image. Based on the predicted value, it detects whether the objects are in contact.
Identifying the effect of turning characteristics on collision avoidance for Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) can provide a key to avoid the collision of MASS. The purpose of this study was to derive a method to identify the effect of turning characteristics, which can be changed by various rudder angles and the ship's speed, on collision avoidance. The turning circle was observed using a mathematical model of a 161-meter-long ship, and it was analyzed that the turning circle had an effect on collision avoidance through numerical simulations of collision avoidance for four collision situations of two ships. The evaluation results using the two variables, the minimum relative distance between two ships and the minimum time at the minimum relative distance, demonstrated that the rudder angle has a major influence on the change of the minimum relative distance, and the ship's speed has a major influence on the change of the minimum time. The evaluation method proposed in this study was expected to be applicable to collision avoidance as a measures in remote control of MASS.
Modern distance sensing methods employ various measurement principles, including triangulation, time-of-flight, confocal, interferometric and frequency comb. Among them, the triangulation method, with a laser light source and an image sensor, is widely used in low-cost applications. We developed an omnidirectional two-dimensional (2D) distance sensor based on the triangulation principle for indoor floor mapping applications. The sensor has a range of 150-1500 mm with a relative resolution better than 4% over the range and 1% at 1 meter distance. It rotationally scans a compact one-dimensional (1D) distance sensor, composed of a near infrared (NIR) laser diode, a folding mirror, an imaging lens, and an image detector. We designed the sensor layout and configuration to satisfy the required measurement range and resolution, selecting easily available components in a special effort to reduce cost. We built a prototype and tested it with seven representative indoor wall specimens (white wallpaper, gray wallpaper, black wallpaper, furniture wood, black leather, brown leather, and white plastic) in a typical indoor illuminated condition, 200 lux, on a floor under ceiling mounted fluorescent lamps. We confirmed the proposed sensor provided reliable distance reading of all the specimens over the required measurement range (150-1500 mm) with a measurement resolution of 4% overall and 1% at 1 meter, regardless of illumination conditions.
The desirability function approach by Derringer and Suich (1980) and the generalized distance approach by Khuri and Conlon (1981) are two major approaches to multiresponse optimization for improvement of quality of a product or process. So far, the desirability function method has been the only tool for multiresponse optimization in the situations where there are the goal regions for the respective responses. For such situations, we propose a multiresponse optimization method based on the generalized distance approach.
In this paper, we outlines the basic pricing rules that developed over the years, and illustrates how these rules apply in practice using railway fare, price discrimination in railway travel. we review the problems of rail fare system reflecting the market fare decision and consider fare decision structure and relative fare comparison with other modes of transportation. Specifically, we focus on tile effect of tile “fare varying system with distance”, using the characteristics of long distance transportation modes. And set up the framework for reasonable fare decision under the current circumstances.
