This paper presents experimental and analytical results of glass fiber-reinforced concrete (GFRC) and polypropylene fiber-reinforced concrete (PERC) to investigate the relationship between tensile strength and compressive strength based on the split cylinder test (ASTM C496) and compressive strength test (ASTM C39). Experimental studies were performed on cylinder specimens having 150 mm in diameter an 300 mm in height with two different fiber contents (1.0 and 1.5% by volume fraction) at ages of 7, 28 and 90 days. A total of 90 cylinder specimens were tested including specimens made of the plain concrete. The experimental data have been used to obtain the relationship between tensile strength and compressive strength. A representative equation is proposed for the relationship between tensile strength and compressive strength of fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC) including glass and polypropylene fibers. There is a good agreement between the average experimental results and those calculated values from the proposed equation.
The possibility of using recycled coarse glass aggregates as a substitute for natural crushed stone are relatively limited. In order to promote it for engineering application, this paper reports the effect of coarse glass aggregate on mechanical behavior of concrete. The coarse aggregates are substituted for coarse glass aggregate (CGA) as 0%,20%,40%,60%,80% and 100%.The results show that increasing the coarse glass aggregate content cause decrease in compressive strength, the elastic modulus, the splitting tensile strength, the flexural strength. An equation is presented to generate the relationship between cube compressive strength and prism compressive strength, the relationship between cube compressive strength and elastic modulus, the relationship between cube compressive strength and splitting tensile strength, the relationship between cube compressive strength and flexural strength of coarse glass concrete.
Strength relationships are presented through experimental data from the concrete strength tests in this study. Various strength tests such as the compressive, flexural, and splitting tensile strength and the modulus of elasticity are included. An experimental work was performed to determine the various strength characteristics for various mix designs. Three different coarse aggregates such as granite, limestone, sandstone were used and included were fine aggregates such as natural sand, washed sand and crushed sand. Also included was cement amount as experimental variable. It was confirmed that each strength value with respect to curing time is to follow a typical strength development curve. With this somewhat reliable test results various strength relationships such as flexural strength-compressive strength, splitting tensile strength-compressive strength, modulus of elasticity-compressive strength, splitting tensile strength-flexural strength were analyzed through statistics. Experimental data were well fitted to the 0.5-power relationship of flexural strength and compressive strength which has been commonly accepted. The splitting tensile strength is expected to be best in the linear relationship from the flexural strength data. Finally splitting tensile strength was found to be proportional to the 0.87 power of the cylindrical compressive strength.
The Purpose of this study was to investigate the change of lumbar extensor strength according to lumbosacral angle on chronic lumbar back pain patients. For this investigation lumbar extensor strength was administered to 60 patients who were diagnosed chronic lumbar back pain The subjects was to investigate lumbosacral angle in standing position and it were calculated lumbar extensor strength by using Medex. The result of this study summarized are as follows ; 1. Total experimental group exhibited significantly higher difference than control group in lumbar extensor strength among all degree lumbosacral angle. 2. In the relationship between experimental group and control group in lumbar extensor strength among lumbosacral angle, all degree difference was revealed II, I, III order. 3. In the relationship between experimental group and control group in lumbar extensor strength among lumbosacral angle, I group difference was did not. 4. In the relationship between experimental group and control group in lumbar extensor strength among lumbosacral angle, all degree among II group was noted significantly difference except 24, 72 angle. 5. In the relationship between experimental group and control group in lumbar extensor strength among lumbosacral angle, control group was revealed higher muscle strength 48, 60, 72 angle, however no significantly difference was noted 0, 12, 24 angle. The study was objected difference of other group in both of experimental and control group. Because lumbar extensor weakness with bad position was gradually increased back pain, to Maintain normal lumbosacral angle befor exercising lumbar extensor strength was most important.
This research tries to examine the effect of brand experience in service marketing perspective for generalized application. The analysis was held with customers who recently visited in retail stores by using SPSS18K and Smart PLS 2.0. The study verified the structural equation model hypothesizing the relationship among brand experience, relationship quality, and relationship strength. According to the result of this study, four brand experience factors have positive effect on the relationship quality. In detail, the effect of sensory experience was strongest. Furthermore, the effect of relationship quality on relationship strength also significant as prior researches addressed. The research has several marketing implication on brand experience management and customer relationship management. For service firms, customers' perception of positive brand experience can generate the tangible and intangible performance in the relationship marketing perspectives.
This paper explores major factors that drive relationship quality and strength in business-to-business transactions. Three major factors, including offering characteristics, managers' interpersonal factors (similarity, expertise), and relational factors (relationship length, cooperation, and dependence), were proposed to affect relationship quality, and indirectly affect relationship strength. In addition, both economic/instrumental dimension (offering characteristics) and affective, relational dimensions (trust and commitment) are also expected to influence relationship strength. In the empirical study which used the textile-dyeing company managers' ratings of local exporters, structural equation modeling presented a well-fit evidence that relationship quality variables and strength are influenced by their proposed antecedents. Specifically, it was found that all characteristics (except relationship length) have direct effect on their relationship quality with local exporters, and indirectly impact on relationship strength which was measured along dimensions of intention to continue the business relationship in the future and the current share of business given to a local exporter. Together with the minor influence that instrumental dimension (offering characteristics) has on relationship strength, this study suggests that the willingness to remain in business relationship or current proportion of business shared is influenced more by affective assessment like relationship quality than by calculative motivation.
Background: Among the health problems in old age, oral health is closely related to nutrition intake and digestion, so although it is an important factor in the well-being of the elderly along with general health, studies examining the relationship between oral health-related factors and grip strength of the elderly are insufficient. Therefore, this study intends to examine the relationship between oral health-related factors and grip strength, which are closely related to the general health of the elderly. Methods: This study used data from the 7th period of Korea National Health and Nutrition Survey (2016~2018) approved by the Research Ethics Review Committee of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Complex sample frequency analysis and descriptive statistics were performed, and general linear model analysis was performed to confirm the relationship between demographic characteristics, oral health -related factors and grip strength. The statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, Version 23.0, and the significance test was based on type I error level of 0.05. Results: Grip strength was higher in the case of no discomfort than in the case of discomfort in relation to mastication discomfort and grip strength (B=0.927, p<0.001). In addition, the grip strength was decreased by 1.348 times when not using dental floss (p<0.001) and when not using mouth wash was 1.480 times (p<0.001). Conclusion: In this study, in the relationship between oral health-related factors and grip strength, grip strength was found to be high in the absence of mastication discomfort. and in the case of using dental floss and mouthwash the elderly showed high grip strength. Therefore, it is suggested to present a lifestyle to improve hand function and grip strength in the elderly and develop a program to increase grip strength and provide them at the same time during oral health education.
PURPOSES : This study aims to develop a strength test method for irregularly shaped concrete block paver. METHODS : Ten (10) different types of concrete block pavers including porous and dense blocks were tested for strength capacities. Destructive and non-destructive methods were used to develop a strength test method for irregularly shaped concrete block paver. The flexural strength evaluation was conducted in accordance to KS F 4419, while compressive strength was conducted with a 45.7mm-diameter core specimen. The impact echo test method was used to evaluate the elastic modulus. Finally, regression analysis was used to investigate the relationship between flexural strength, compressive strength and elastic modulus based on their corresponding test results. RESULTS : The flexural strength of the tested block pavers ranged from 4MPa to 10MPa. At 95% confidence level, the coefficients of determination between compressive-flexural strength relationship and compressive strength-elastic modulus relationship were 0.94 and 0.84, respectively. These coefficients signified high correlation. CONCLUSIONS : Using the test method proposed in this study, it will be easier to evaluate the strength of irregularly shaped concrete block pavers through impact echo test and compressive test, instead of the flexural test. Relative to the flexural strength requirement of 5MPa, the minimum values of compressive strength and elastic modulus, as proposed, are 13.0MPa and 25.0GPa, respectively.
In this study, the compression test of steel fiber reinforced high-strength concrete have been performed with varying strengths and volume factions of steel fiber. Three types of matrices including low strength concrete( c'=30 MPa), medium strength concrete( c'=50 MPa), and high strength concrete( c'=70 MPa) were selected. Five types of fiber fractions were studied including 0.0%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1.0%, and 1.5% by volume. From the results of the compressive strength test, the post-peak characteristics of the stress-strain relationship were investigated, and the existing equations to predict the elastic modulus were experimentally evaluated.
In this thesis, fracture test was performed in order to investigate the fracture strength of SFRC(steel fiber reinforced concrete) structures. The relationship between the compressive force and strain value of SFRC specimens were observed under the compressive strength test. From the fracture test results, the relationship between percentage of fiber by volume, compressive strength, elastic modulus, and tensile strength of SFRC beams were studied, and the measured elastic modulus of SFRC were compared with the calculated elastic modulus by ACI committee 544.
