초등과학 영재 학생의 영재 학급에 대한 효과성 조사 (A Survey on the Effect for the Science Gifted Class of Gifted Student in Elementary)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine about science gifted class student's effect of education for the science gifted class. For this, 21 item-questionnaires were given to 292 students at the 4th, 5th and 6th graders in 3 elementary gifted schools located in Incheon. The results of this study were as follows: First, science gifted students were positive in effect of gifted class. This was more positive as class is low. Second, gifted students are thinking that it is helped to own learning that study at gifted class in cognitive side but appeared relatively low regarding school record or utterance, study method, thinking faculty, creativity. Third, they did not think that is exerting a lot of effects about own habit that study, interest, pride in emotional side. Fourth, they thought that is effective in relation with new friends more than teachers and parents in sociocultural side. Fifth, in private tutoring side they thought that is not influencing to solve academy taking a course of decrease.

여고생들의 비만도 및 비만과 관련된 사회심리적 요인 분석 (A Study of the Obesity Index and Psychosocial Factors Influencing Obesity among Adolescent Girls)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the dietary intake, obesity index and psychosocial factors influencing obesity among 200 high school girls in Seoul. The Social Cognitive Theory provided the Conceptual basis for this study. A cross-sectional survey was conducted to examine factors related to obesity, including self-efficacy for controlling overeating, social support for eating behavior, perception of body image and weight control, nutrition knowledge, and attitudes toward obesity. The data were analyzed using t-test and multiple logistic regression. The results of this study are as follows : 1) The mean age of the girls was 16.4 years, and the rate of overweight and obesity(measured by obesity index) was 27.0$\%$. 2) The mean energy intake of subjects was 1832.3$\pm$384.0kcal. The energy derived from carbohydrates, proteins and fats was 62.7$\%$, 13.8$\%$, and 23.5$\%$, respectively. There was no significant difference between the obese and the comparison group in energy intake. 3) The result of multivariate analysis indicated that obesity had a significant relation to the perception of ideal body image, social support for eating behavior, and self-efficacy for controlling overeating(p〈0.01). As subjects preferred thinner body images(OR=0.39) and received less social support(OR=0.93), the odds of being classified as obese increased. The odds of being obese were also associated with self-efficacy, however, the relation was not strong(OR=1.04). 4) Specific social support was related to obesity among adolescent girls. As subjects received more support from family member, the odds of being obese decreased. The emotional support as well as family member's positive nutrition behavior plays a significant role. In addition, instrumental support from friends was associated with obesity. With repect to self-efficacy, the odds of being obese were increased as subjects felt less confident in controlling overeating when tempting food was placed in front of them or after an argument. In contrast, the obese group felt more confident in controlling overeating for the rest of the specific situations examined. These findings suggest that educational interventions for weight control should incorporate strategies to help participants realize their degree of obesity, to reduce the discrepancy between current and ideal body image, to elicit and maintain social support from friends and family, and to increase the self-efficacy for changing eating behaviors. 초기 청소년의 발달환경이 비행행동에 미치는 영향 : 매체환경의 매개효과를 중심으로 (A Study on the Effects of Early Adolescents' Developmental Environment on their Delinquent behavior : Focused on the Mediating Effects of Media Environment)

  • 본 연구는 부모양육태도, 친구관계, 학교환경 등 청소년의 발달환경이 비행행동에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 컴퓨터, 휴대전화 등 매체환경이 그 관계에서 어떤 매개역할을 하는지를 규명하는 데 목적이 있다. 초기 청소년인 중학교 1학년 총 518명 대상으로 한국아동 청소년패널 6차년도 조사결과를 활요하였다. 분석결과, 부모양육태도가 애정형, 과잉간섭형, 학대형일수록, 친구와 소외관계가 깊을수록 비행행동은 더 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 부모의 비일관성, 친구간 의사소통은 컴퓨터와 휴대폰을 더 자주 사용하게 하였다. 컴퓨터, 휴대전화를 자주 사용할수록 비행행동도 늘어났다. 따라서 청소년의 가정환경, 친구관계는 비행행동에 영향을 미치므로 부모교육프로그램, 친구간 소통프로그램 등 비행행동을 방지하는 발달환경의 조성 전략이 필요할 것이다. 비행행동을 완화하기 위해 최근 사회문제화 되고 있는 컴퓨터나 휴대전화 등에 대해 올바른 활용을 위한 교육프로그램 개발 및 시행이 요구된다.

장애 학생의 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구-가정, 학교 및 장애 특성을 중심으로 (Study on the Influencing Factors on Life Satisfaction of Students with Disabilities-Focused on Household, School and Disability Related Characteristics)

  • 본 연구는 장애학생의 현재 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향 요인을 분석함으로써 장애 아동 및 청소년들의 삶의 만족도를 높이는데 필요한 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 보건복지부에서 실시한 2014년 장애인실태조사 원 자료를 분석 자료로 하여, 초등학교, 중학교, 고등학교에 재학 중인 학생 197명을 대상으로 가족관계 만족도, 가정폭력 여부, 경제상태, 가구 유형, 차별정도, 장애정도, 주관적 건강상태, 친구들의 수 만족도, 학교생활적응도 등 가정, 학교 및 장애 특성 요인이 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 지를 검증하고자 집단 간 평균비교 및 다중회귀분석 등을 실시하였다. 분석결과 가정폭력 여부, 가족관계 만족도, 주관적 건강상태, 친구의 수 만족도 등이 장애학생의 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 가족 구조와 기능강화, 아동 및 청소년들과 가족이 함께하는 프로그램 확대, 사회성 강화 프로그램 실시, 건강 증진 방안 등이 필요함을 시사한다.

노인의 생애의 의미에 대한 연구 (Meaning in Life Among the Elderly)

  • This study was attempted to explore meaning in life and it's relationship to problematic life events, health status and depression among older people. 198samples of elderly were over the age 60 (mean age=70.06) conveniently selected in Seoul, Korea. The data were collected through questionaires by interview with subjects from April, 1, 1999 to May 30, 1999. The research instuments were the main framework in the experiment. They involved meaning fulfillment and problematic life events which were developed by Burbank (1988) and short form geriatric depression scale(Sheikh & Yesavage, 1986). The data were analysed by SAS Program. The results are followed; 1. 172 lists were given out and had objects that would bring meaning to one's life. They were categrized as wishing for offsprings' prosperity, their relation with their grand-children, marriage of their offspring, health of family members, strong family ties, caring for the family, relation with husband, health for self, religious activity, helping others, individual hobbies, needs for growth such as writing, education, relationships with friends and personal achievements. In the end, 50% of total list dealt with in the relationship with their family members. 2. The mean fulfillment of the subjects was 38.31(SD=13.58) with a range of 12-60. The degree fulfillment varied according to the subjects' characteristics such as age group(F=4.44, 0P=.0008), education status (F=6.44, P=.0001), economic status (F=10.27, P=.0001), marrital status (F=9.12, P=.0002) and religious background (F=3.68, P=.006). 3. According to the pearson correlation, analysis significant variables were found between meaning fulfillment and health(r=.47, P=.0001), depression and the number of problematic life events for a life time (r=.147, P=.04), the stress score of problamatic life events for the past one year and the stress score of problematic life events for a life time was r=.43, P=.002, meaning fulfillment and the stress score of problamatic life events r=-.26, P=.04, depression and meaning fulfillment r=-.70, P=.0001 and depression and health r=-.521, P=.0001. 4. According to multiful regression analysis, depression was found as a most predictable variable for health(F=12.51, P=.001).

이분척추 환아의 어머니가 인식한 질병관리의 어려움: 질적 서술적 접근 (Mothers' Perceived Difficulties in the Management of Chronic Conditions of Children with Spina Bifida: A Qualitative Descriptive Approach)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify and describe the caregiving difficulties that mothers of children with spina bifida experience from their own perspectives. Methods: A qualitative descriptive study was designed. Data were collected from five mini-focus group interviews and four individual interviews using open-ended questions. Nineteen mothers of children with mild spina bifida participated in the study during 2014-2015. Data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis to identify major difficulties perceived by the mothers. Results: Five domains were identified with 12 subdomains. "Daily routine continence management" describes difficulties arising in bladder and bowel management for the child with spina bifida. "Management of school life of child" deals with difficulties in relation to the school facilities, such as the toilets, as well as teachers and friends. "Relationship with family and neighbors" illustrates problems in relations with their spouse, normal children, relatives and neighbors. "Maintaining physical and psychological health" includes physical and psychological problems of the mothers. "Finance" describes economic burden that the mothers face in the management of child's illness. Conclusion: The findings from this study provide insight into the practical issues related to the management of chronic conditions of children with spina bifida from the mothers' perspectives.

서울시내 고등학생의 식행동과 패스트푸드 소비실태 (A Survey of Dietary Behavior and Fast Food Consumption by High School Students in Seoul)

  • The relation between dietary behavior and fast food consumption was investigated among 117 male and 164 female students at a high school in Seoul. The main reason for eating fast foods was convenience. In addition, they used fast food chain stores as a get together place with friends. They enjoyed taste of fast foods as well as the atmosphere of stores but they regarded fast foods somewhat expensive for high school students. Among them, 30.1% of the female students had irregular meals and they ate more irregularly than males. More students took too much or too little amount(45.3% of male, 52.5% of female students) than those who took adequate amount. They skipped breakfast the most frequently because they are in a hurry. Most students took snacks once a day and they considered taste of snacks was more important than nutrition or price. They consumed less calorie, calcium, iron, and riboflavin than RDA. Mean caloric intakes of males and females were 79.0% and 97.1% of RDA, respectively. Mean calcium and iron intakes were less than 70% of RDA. Among many factors that may influence nutrient intake, anthropometric indices turned out to be the most influential. Body weight showed significantly positive correlation with caloric, protein, thiamin, and ascorbic acid intakes in male students where both height and weight showed positive relation with calorie, protein, and iron intakes in females. Therefore, this study suggested that fast food stores should make efforts to provide more foods and beverages which are supplemented with calcium and iron. Also, better nutrition education programs should be established to improve high school students dietary habit to complement these nutrients.

개념도를 통해서 본 고등학교 영재학생의 학업부정행위에 관한 인식 (High School Gifted Students' Perception on Cheating in School)

  • 본 연구에서는 고등학교 영재학생들의 학업부정행위에 대한 인식의 개념도를 작성하여 영재학생들의 인식에 관한 개념구조를 제시하고, 영재학생들과 일반학생들의 학업부정행위에 대한 인식차를 비교하였다. 본 연구는 영재의 특성에 대해 파악하고 이를 통하여 영재학생들을 지도하는데 있어서 여태까지 강조되어 왔던 지식 영역뿐만 아니라 도덕성, 인성 등과 같은 정의적 영역에 대한 올바른 접근 및 지도방법을 모색하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 고등학교 영재학생 초점집단 63명의 브레인스토밍으로 얻어진 진술문들을 종합하여 64개의 최종 진술문을 확정하였고, 이들 진술문은 초점집단 63명 중 다시 선발된 13명의 연구 참여자에 의해 분류, 평정되었다. 그 후 다차원 척도분석과 위계적 군집분석을 통해 개념도를 작성한 결과 고등학교 영재학생의 학업부정행위에 관한 인식은 총 5개의 군집으로 분류되었으며, 각각의 군집명은 '용납할 수 없는 친구의 부정행위', '사회적 구조, 영재성, 그리고 부정행위 간의 불가분의 관계', '부정행위 요구로 인한 심적 갈등, 대처 및 용인 수준', '개인 내면의 비도덕성(도덕불감증)', '도덕성과 사회정의에 근거한 판단'으로 나타났다. 또한 영재학생 150명과 일반학생 160명을 대상으로 각 진술문에 대한 동의 정도를 likert 6점 척도로 표시하게 한 후 두 집단 사이의 인식 차를 살펴본 결과 '용납할 수 없는 친구의 부정행위', '도덕성과 사회정의에 근거한 판단' 군집은 두 집단 간의 유의미한 차이가 전무하거나 매우 미미한 반면, '사회적 구조, 영재성, 그리고 부정행위간의 불가분의 관계', '부정행위 요구로 인한 심적 갈등, 대처 및 용인 수준', '개인 내면의 비도덕성(도덕불감증)' 군집은 두 집단 간의 인식 차가 매우 큰 것으로 나타났으며, 전체적으로는 영재학생이 일반학생보다 학업부정행위에 관해 더 도덕적인 입장에서 판단하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 영재들의 도덕성과 관련하여 논의되었다.

중학생의 성교육 요구 (Need for Sex Education in Middle School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the need for sex education in middle school students Research subjects were 194 students who attended at I seminary in B city. The period of data collection was from July to August, 2001. Research instrument was composed of 61 structured items 17 items related to demographics and sex, 44 items related to the need of sex education. Data were collected through the self-report method by the researcher and one trained assistant. The instrument developed by the researchers was employed to measure the need of sex education and it's Cronbach's $\alpha$ = 0.9349 in this research. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage factor analysis and t-test using SPSS WIN Program. The findings of this study are summarized as follows : 1. The highest score among characteristics of sex was 'less interest about sex(42.6%)', 39.0% of subjects got information about sex from friends or elders. 52.3% of subjects consulted friends or elders about sex problems. The number of sex education lessons was 1-2 times in school during last semester (61.0%). Education by the school nurse was 35.9% to students. 43.1% of subjects announced moderate satisfaction on sex education. 2. The mean score of the need for sex education was $2.88{\pm}0.47$ (lowest value 1, highest 4). The most wanted sex education factor was 'chastity and sexual responsibility($3.33{\pm}0.67$)' and followed by 'family and marriage ($3.26{\pm}0.62$)' and 'considerations of sex($3.07{\pm}0.69$)'. Meanwhile, the lowest wanted sex education factor is 'physiological characteristics of male ($2.47{\pm}0.72$)', followed by 'sexual behavior ($2.49{\pm}0.75$)'. The most wanted sex education item was 'the meaning of family ($3.54{\pm}0.75$)' and followed by 'the cautions to prevention from sexual abuse ($3.49{\pm}0.78$)' and sexual activity and responsibility($3.43{\pm}0.77$)'. Meanwhile, the lowest wanted sex education item is 'masturbation ($2.16{\pm}0.97$)', followed by 'circumcision($2.32{\pm}0.97$)'. 3. There is no significant difference between boys and girls in mean score about the need for sex education(t=-.715, p=.476). Sex education factor that girl-students wanted was 'physiological characteristics of female'. Sex education factor that boy-students wanted was 'family and marriage'. Sex education items that girl-students wanted were 'cautions during menstruation', the relation of ovulation and pregnancy', caution to prevention from sexual abuse' and sexual behavior and responsibility'. Sex education items that boy-students wanted were 'the meaning of family', 'the importance of marriage', 'male's sex organs', 'a wet dream', 'the method to resolve sexual curiosity', 'sexual intercourse' and 'the connection with the other sex'. In conclusion, the mean score of the need for sex education is medium. The route to attain knowledge about sex and sexual problem is through consulting friends and elders. Therefore, it is necessary to give sex education that is suitable to the subject's needs and methods. Also, it is necessary to give differently strong point about sex education between female and male students.

Posttraumatic Growth and Social Support in Turkish Patients with Cancer

  • Posttraumatic growth (PTG) is the experience of positive change that occurs as a result of the struggle with highly challenging life crises. The need to understand PTG in relation to actual changes in an individual's life has recently been raised. Little is known about the role of social support in the experience of positive outcomes. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of perceived social support in enhancing PTG in cancer patients. This study involved 105 cancer patients. The data were collected using a questionnaire that determined the socio-demographic features, posttraumatic growth inventory (PTGI) and perceived social support. Participants reported relatively high levels of PTG and social support. Total perceived social support, support from family, and friends were significantly positive associated with the development of PTG among cancer patients. Accordingly, the social surroundings of the patient should be informed about the importance of social support and how it helps the patient; they should be made aware of necessity of social support.
