장기폭로실험에 의한 철근콘크리트 구조물의 보수재료.공법 성능평가 (Performance Evaluation of Repair Material and Method for Reinforced Concrete Structure by Long Term Exposure Experiment)

  • 본 연구에서는 최근 국내에서 신기술 등으로 인증되어 활용되고 있는 보수재료 공법을 적용한 폭로시험체를 제작한 후, 해양환경 및 일반 대기환경 하에서 장기폭로실험에 의한 정량적 폭로실험 데이터를 확보함으로서 향후 성능저하된 철근콘크리트 구조물의 보수재료 공법 성능평가 방법 및 품질관리기준 확립을 위한 기초 자료를 제시하고자 하였다. 해양 및 일반 대기환경 하에서 폭로재령 30개월까지 폭로실험을 실시한 결과 탄산화 및 염화물이온 침투 깊이는 피복두께에 비해 매우 적게 침투하였으며, 철근의 부식 면적과 부식 속도 결과를 토대로 폭로재령 30개월까지 철근 부식의 주된 원인은 내재 염화물량 및 매크로셀에 의한 부식이 가장 큰 원인으로 판단된다. 향후 폭로시험체의 지속적인 평가를 통하여 정량적인 폭로실험 데이터를 확보함으로서 보수재료 공법 성능 평가 방법 및 품질 관리 기준 확립을 위한 기초 자료를 제시할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

플라이 애쉬 치환율에 따른 콘크리트의 염소이온 투과특성 (Effect of Fly-Ash on the Characteristic of Chloride ion Penetration in Concrete)

  • Cloride attack of concrete is one of the important causes of corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete with carbonation and frost damage. In this paper, the effect of fly-ash on the cloride attack were investigated by varying water binder ratio and fly-ash contents according to the chloride ion penetrationa test. (ASTM C 1202-94) The principal conclusions from this research were as follows: 1) The compressive strength of concrete at large ages, depends more on $C_2$S contents of base cement than fly-ash contents. 2) On the other hand, the chloride ion penetration of concrete at large ages, principally depends on fly-ash contents and the influence of type of base cement is insignificant.

  • In underground reinforced concrete structures, such as drainage structure, water and chloride ion penetrated into concrete through the cracks of concrete and its permeable property, cause the corrosion of reinforcing steel bar, which accelerates the expansive cracks and deterioration of concrete. It is necessary to control those deterioration of underground structure by improving its permeability and durability through the reasonable solutions in design, construction and materials. In the present study, fly ash concrete, which has good material properties in long-term period, was compared and studied with plain concrete using ordinary portland cement in terms of fundamental mechanical properties, permeability, drying shrinkage and durability. Also, the mix design and field test of low permeable concrete using fly ash were performed. From this study, fly ash concrete can control the penetration of water and chloride ion effectively by forming dense micro-structure of concrete. Therefore, fly ash concrete may increase the long-term function, performance and serviceability of underground structures.

  • We examined the silicate-based material to develop the surface-treatment agent, which would be used to restore performance of the deteriorated concrete and to inhibit corrosion of the reinforcing bar. As a part of the study, we carried out experiments of the penetration and strengthening properties of concrete treated by the considering agent. The variables of experiment, were the type of silicates, the ratio of distilled water-silicate, the usage of surface-strengthening material, and the usage of biochemical material. The penetrating ability of concrete is assessed by viscosity and surface tension. Also assessments of strengthening effects of concrete are performed on compressive strength, absorption, and water permeability tests.

  • Glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) bars gain increasingly more attention as a reinforcing option for concrete because of their corrosion resistance and non-magnetism. GFRP reinforcement for concrete does not have the same shape as steel reinforcement. Therefore, the bond performance of FRP bars, unlike that of steel, is dependent on their design, manufacture and mechanical properties. This paper studied the effect of high strength concrete on the bond strength of GFRP bars. Twenty-nine specimens having different compressive strength of concrete were tested in order to examine the bond behavior of GFRP bars.

  • 최근 건설공사의 급증으로 인한 하천골재의 고갈로 콘크리트용 대체골재로서 해사\ulcorner선사 등이 대구되고 있다. 그러나 해사는 세척하지 않고 그대로 콘크리트에 사용할 경우 콘크리트중의 철근부식 촉진에 따른 콘크리트의 균열발생 등 조기 노후화현상으로 내구성에 많은 문제점을 내포하고 있고, 산사는 국내 연구실적이 전혀 없는 상태에서 지역적으로 무분별하게 사용되고 있어 이들에 관한 제반 공학적 특성 및 활영방안 연구가 시급한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 산사\ulcorner해사를 사용한 콘크리트의 압축강도 특성 및 해사의 염분함량과 콘크리트의 물-시멘트비에 따른 철근부식량과의 관계를 구명하였다.

  • For a large scale civil and architectural structures, mainly steel, concrete and aluminum have been used and weight and corrosion of materials became a major concern. Designing with composite materials is very much complicated. Simple classical theory may yield good results for selecting "initial" sections for preliminary design. D. H. Kim proposed to use the quasi-isotropic constants by Tsai for the preliminary design of the composite primary structures for the civil construction. Also he made simple equation using correction factor. In this paper, the simple formulas developed by D. H. Kim to obtain "exact" values of the natural frequencies of [ABBCAAB]r laminate are compared with Whitney's equations. Also natural frequencies of the plate with varying aspect ratios and reinforcing fiber orientations, are compared with natural frequencies of bean. This work can be a guideline to obtain data in many other cases.

현장실험을 통한 VES-LMC 균열발생 원인분석 (Diagnosis of Crack Occurrence of Very-Early Strength Latex-Modified Concretes through Field Tests)

  • Many concrete bridge decks develop transverse cracking shortly after construction. These cracks accelerate corrosion of reinforcing steel and lead to concrete deterioration, damage to components beneath the deck, unsightly appearance. These cracks shorten the service life and increase maintenance costs of bridge structures. In this study, VES-LMC overlay, which provides the same benefits as a conventional overlay, is designed to cure very quickly. Although the materials for VES overlays are more expensive, the cost is more than offset by the savings on traffic control and work zone safety measures. Otherwise, reaction of hydration occurs very rapidly in beginning step(concrete placing). As a results, thermal cracking can be occur by thermal stress in accordance with hydration-heat The purpose of this study was to estimate diagnosis of crack occurrence of VES-LMC through field tests at early-age.

  • As the importance of maintenance of reinforced concrete structure recently has emerged, the attention of durability of structure has been increasing. There are many studies about durability decline especially due to the carbonation. In order to study carbonation progress after surface repair of carbonated concrete, each carbonation penetration velocity from different repair materials of concrete structure is compared through the experiment of carbonation accelerating CO2 concentration to 20% and 100%. As carbonation infiltration progress is predicted through this study, the counterplan of service life evaluation will be prepared on selection of repair materials of concrete structure.

  • As recent buildings often use low-quality concrete materials, are constructed defectively, and are put in extreme environmental conditions, many of them show the shortening of life resulting from the corrosion of reinforcing rods by salt damage, carbonization, freezing and thawing, cracking. This in turn raises the cost of repair and maintenance, so it is required to extend the life of structures through enhancing the durability of concrete. In response to the demand, researches on high-durability concrete are being made actively focused on the maximum water-cement ratio, the maximum unit quantity, the minimum cover thickness, the addition of mineral admixtures, etc. With this background, the present study examined the basic physical properties of concrete containing admixtures for enhancing the durability of concrete.
