In order to measure corrosion level of reinforcement rebar in RC structures, non-destructive test methods which are concrete surface current density method and infrared thermographic technique were employed to measure corrosion levels. Experimental test parameters were various levels of corrosion states(0, 1, 3, 5, 7% of weight loss) and concrete cover depth(30 mm, 40 mm) and two different reinforcing rebar arrangements. The larger amount of concrete surface current density, the higher corrosion level in reinforcement rebar. The laboratory conditions which are ambient temperature and humidity have negligible effect on the infrared thermographical data. After analysis of current density and temperature distribution from concrete surface, corrosion level of reinforcement rebar embedded in concrete can be measured qualitatively based on the amount of electric current and heat flux.
The most important part in the earth reinforcement is the interface between soil and the reinforcement. Shear strength and shear behavior in this interface make a great role relating to the reinforcement effect. This paper presents 2 kinds of direct shear test methods. one is the strain free shear test, called 'free method', that is performed by the free condition of allowing tensile strain. The other is the strain fix shear test, called 'fixed method', that is performed by the fixed condition of not allowing tensile strain. Two reinforcements were used such as nonwoven geotextile and geogrid. That is, interfaces are composed of geogrid/sand and geotextile/sand. From the test results it shows us that the fixed method had a greater friction angle and a smaller peak shear strain than those of the free method. Residual stress of the fixed method was bigger than that of the free method but the residual stress ratio was vice versa.
PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to compare the flexural strength of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and bis-acryl composite resin reinforced with polyethylene and glass fibers. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Three groups of rectangular test specimens (n = 15) of each of the two resin/fiber reinforcement were prepared for flexural strength test and unreinforced group served as the control. Specimens were loaded in a universal testing machine until fracture. The mean flexural strengths (MPa) was compared by one way ANOVA test, followed by Scheffe analysis, using a significance level of 0.05. Flexural strength between fiber-reinforced resin groups were compared by independent samples t-test. RESULTS. For control groups, the flexural strength for PMMA (215.53 MPa) was significantly lower than for bis-acryl composite resin (240.09 MPa). Glass fiber reinforcement produced significantly higher flexural strength for both PMMA (267.01 MPa) and bis-acryl composite resin (305.65 MPa), but the polyethylene fibers showed no significant difference (PMMA resin-218.55 MPa and bis-acryl composite resin-241.66 MPa). Among the reinforced groups, silane impregnated glass fibers showed highest flexural strength for bis-acryl composite resin (305.65 MPa). CONCLUSION. Of two fiber reinforcement methods evaluated, glass fiber reinforcement for the PMMA resin and bis-acryl composite resin materials produced highest flexural strength. Clinical implications. On the basis of this in-vitro study, the use of glass and polyethylene fibers may be an effective way to reinforce provisional restorative resins. When esthetics and space are of concern, glass fiber seems to be the most appropriate method for reinforcing provisional restorative resins.

To develop the detailing methods at the ends of flexural shear walls. which are satisfying the ductility requirement corresponding to R = 3.5 and capable of improving the consturctibility, tests of ten isolated cantilever shear walls were carried out under the load condition comprising the cyclic lateral and constant vertical loads. major test parameters include the way of detailing and arrangement of transverse reinforcement in the boundary elements at the ends of walls, and placement of vertical reinforcement. From tests, comparable ductile behavior in test specimens incorporating the channel type of open hoops, compared with those incorporating the regular type of closed hoops, was observed.

In this study, the back analysis was performed by means of stereo-net, plane failure and block failure method to collapsed fields among the rock slopes designed by standardized criterion, and the internal frictions from the back analysis were compared with those used to reinforcement design. It was concluded that in the result of the analysis by means of stereo net, plain failure and block failure methods, the internal frictions used to re-design of collapsed slope underestimated 10$^{\circ}$, 5$^{\circ}$ and 10$^{\circ}$ in average. At present, the internal friction on the design is used the experience value according to the state of weathering, but internal friction angle by the back analysis on collapsed slope with various methods were more reliable values than those from the present method. And it was concluded that re-design was made extravagantly because the internal friction used to re-design for reinforcement of the collapsed slope was less than back analysis.
This paper discusses the service life prediction methods for CFRP bar for concrete reinforcement using accelerated degradation tests. The relationship between performance degradation and the rate of a failure-causing chemical reaction is assumed for the temperature accelerated degradation tests. Methods of obtaining acceleration factors and predicting service life of the CFRP bar using the degradation model are presented.

The slope surface at a linking road construction from a geological stratum situation and a spot investigation weathering about the base rock. We became formation the slope to very disadvantageous base rock. A stability review result confirmed report of the slope were difficult and presented the stability countermeasure. We executed the slope to the purpose to augment safely.
This research studies on the demand forecasting for service parts considering parts life cycle, that gets relatively less attentions in the field of forecasting. Our goal is to develop forecasting method robust across many situations, not necessarily optimal for a limited number of specific situations. For this purpose, we first extensively analyze the drawbacks of the existing forecasting methods, then we propose the new demand forecasting method by using these findings and reinforcement leaning technique. Using simulation experiments, we proved that the proposed forecasting method is better than the existing methods under various experimental environments.

A fire outbreak in a reinforcement concrete structure looses the organism by different contraction and expansion of hardened cement pastes and aggregate, and causes cracks by thermal stress, leading to the deterioration of the durability. So, concrete reinforcement structure is damaged partial or whole structure system. Therefore accurate diagnosis of deterioration is needed based on mechanism of fire deterioration in general concrete structures. Fundamental information and data on the properties of concrete exposed to high temperature are necessary for accurate diagnosis of deterioration. In this study, consider case of investigation methods and repair work in fire damaged structure concrete.
