This study analyzed the reductive effect of lateral flow by the section and height of reinforcement of EPS. The conclusions of the study are as follows. (1) The lateral flow increased as the section of reinforcement decreased. The reinforcement section that satisfied the allowable range of the lateral flow turned out to beapproximately 80% of the standard reinforcement section. (2) As reinforcement height was decreasing, the lateral flow increased. The reinforcement heigh that satisfied the allowable range of the lateral flow turned out to be approximately 50% of the total lateral height of abutment.

This study the change of the safety factor before and after the reinforcement were compared by performing the parameter research based on the limit equilibrium analysis regarding the same cross section after carrying out the safety factor before the reinforcement on the virtual section in order to observe the change of the safety factor of the slop reinforced with the slope planting reinforced earth, and the variation of the safety factor according to the increase of the length of the reinforcement materials and the change of the slope height was analyzed. As the result, the reinforcement effect was insignificant at no more than 0.6 of L/H, the reinforcement length ratio when the reinforcement length was increased, as the increase of the safety factor was slow comparing with the non-reinforced slope. At 3.0m of the slope height, reinforcement on the slope is not necessary, and at 3.0m to 5.0m of the slope height, the inclination was not influencing at no less than 0.6 of L/H. At 5.0m to 9.0m of the slope height, the safety factor was mostly secured on the slope at 0.8 of L/H and the over-reinforced slope appeared at no less than 1.0 of L/H. Also, the safety factor increased as the slope height increases and the slope gets steeper till 0.8 of L/H, but the slope steepness affects more on the increase of the safety factor than the reinforcement material, as the reinforcing force by the reinforcement material became steady.

From the result of analysis using finite element method for the Pile Slab reinforcement length through embankment of height, soft ground and the change of cohesion following results were acquired. 1. The higher embankment of height is, the deeper depth of soft ground is, the smaller cohesion is, Pile Slab reinforcement length increased almost straight. 2. The reinforcement length is controlled by the depth of soft ground, cohesion, embankment of height and the like. Among these, cohesion of soft ground is affected the most. 3. The reinforcement length of Pile Slab is determined using by calculated formula.
The axial compression behavior of nine self-compacting concrete columns confined with CFRP-PVC spirals was studied. Three parameters of spiral reinforcement spacing, spiral reinforcement diameter and height diameter ratio were studied. The test results show that the CFRP strip and PVC tube are destroyed first, and the spiral reinforcement and longitudinal reinforcement yield. The results show that with the increase of spiral reinforcement spacing, the peak bearing capacity decreases, but the ductility increases; with the increase of spiral reinforcement diameter, the peak bearing capacity increases, but has little effect on ductility, and the specimen with the ratio of height to diameter of 7.5 has the best mechanical properties. According to the reasonable constitutive relation of material, the finite element model of axial compression is established. Based on the verified finite element model, the stress mechanism is revealed. Finally, the composite constraint model and bearing capacity calculation method are proposed.

The vacuum infiltration method is one of the composite producing methods. There are several parameters in composite production by vacuum infiltration. One of them is particle size of reinforcement in particulate reinforced composites. In this study, MgO powder and Al were used as reinforcement and matrix respectively. MgO powders with different size and amount to give same height were filled in quartz tubes and liquid metal was vacuum infiltrated into the MgO powder under same vacuum condition and for same time. Infiltration height was measured and microstructure and fracture behavior of composite were investigated. It has been found that infiltration height and fracture strength were increased with particulate reinforcement sizes. It has also been determined that molten metal temperature facilitates infiltration.
In this study, an experimental method for the selection of optimal welding condition was proposed in the fillet weld which was done over the tack weld. This method used the response surface analysis in which the leg length and the reinforcement height were chosen as the quality variables of the weld bead profile. The overall desirability function, which was combined desirability function fur the two quality variables, was employed as the objective function for getting the optimal welding condition. In the experiments, the target values of the leg length and the reinforcement height are 6m and zero respectively for the horizontal fillet weld of 10mm thickness mild steel. The optimal welding conditions could predict the weld bead profile(leg length and reinforcement height) as 6.00mm and 0.19mm without tack weld and 6.00mm and 0.48mm with tack weld. from a series of welding test, it was revealed that a uniform weld bead can be obtained by adopting the optimal welding condition which was determined according to the method proposed.
With the recent increase in gas energy use, risk management for explosion accidents has been emphasized. Protective walls can be used to reduce damage from explosions. The KOSHA GUIDE D-65-2018 suggests the minimum thickness and height of protective walls, minimum reinforcement diameter, and maximum spacing of reinforcements for the structural safety of the protective walls. However, no related evidence has been presented. In this study, the blast load carrying capacity of the protective wall was analyzed by the pressure-impulse diagrams while changing the yield strength of the reinforcement, concrete compressive strength, reinforcement ratio, protective wall height, and thickness, to check the adequacy of the KOSHA GUIDE. Results show that failure may occur even with design based on the criteria presented by KOSHA GUIDE. In order to achieve structural safety of protective walls, additional criteria for minimum reinforcement yield strength and maximum height of protective wall are suggested for inclusion in KOSHA GUIDE. Moreover, the existing value for minimum reinforcement ratio and the thickness of the protective wall should be increased.
Since the mechanically stabilized earth walls have a form of retaining wall compatible with a narrow section, the geogrid overlaps according to the separation distance between the walls. There is a problem that the overall behavior may occur in the state of being integrated with the stress change due to the interaction of the geogrid. Therefore, a careful approach is required at the design stage, but there are currently no design criteria or guidelines in Korea. This study investigated the optimal reinforcement length ratio according to the retaining wall width to height ratio (width to height ratio, Wb/H) for these back-to-back mechanically stabilized earth walls. Retaining wall width ratio is 1.1H, 1.4H, 1.7H, 2.0H for Case II of the FHWA design standard, and the height is 3.0 m, 5.0 m, 7.0 m, and 10.0 m, which are most commonly applied. Through numerical analysis, the appropriateness of the FHWA design standard and the optimal reinforcement length ratio according to the height of the retaining wall and the width of the retaining wall were proposed.

Axial load-strain relationships of confined concrete with spiral reinforcement were investigated. The main variables were compressive strength of concrete, spacing of hoop reinforcement, and specimen height of plain concrete. The program included tests of eleven confined specimens, and twelve plain specimens, but for all specimens no longitudinal reinforcement was provided. Load-strain curves of confined and plain concrete specimens are reporeted.

A slab examined by this study is the half precast concrete(PC) slab with the truss-reinforcement. There are many studies on the composite slab, but the study on the half precast concrete(PC) slab is little. Especially, the study on a structural performance of the half PC slab according to the height of the truss-reinforcement is extremely little. Therefore, in this research, three kinds of slabs with different height of the truss-reinforcement were made, and the bending test was conducted to research a structural performance.
