Development of a Consumption Self-regulation Scale (소비에 대한 자기조절척도 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a standardized scale to measure consumption self-regulation. A preliminary 38-item scale was developed through a literature review. One thousand-twelve consumers responded to an online survey using the preliminary scale. A series of tests, such as test-retest, item-to-total correlation, Cronbach's reliability coefficient and factor analysis, were conducted using the survey data and a final scale comprising 30 items was then constructed. The consumption self-regulation scale consisted of four factors: (1) impulse control, (2) gratification delay, (3)self-reliance, and (4) self-management.

  • In this paper, a novel multiple output converter using quasi load is proposed. Conventional multiple output converters using multi-winding transformer has poor output voltage regulations. To solve this problem, there are many proposals like post regulation method, weighted control method, and etc. However, the post regulation method regulates output voltage tightly but its conduction loss and cost are increased. And the weighted control can achieve high efficiency and low cost but its regulation is not enough. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a novel multiple output converter using quasi load. The proposed method uses a quasi load which acts like an active dummy load for tight regulation but there is rarely increase of loss and cost. The proposed method is verified by hardware test by two output(24V and 15V) flyback type converter.

  • This paper presents a voltage and frequency regulation of a Micro-grid using a Battery energy storage system (BESS) and super-capacitor (SPC). The control methods for the both BESS and SPC are proposed to improve the regulation performance and battery life span. The simulation results using the PSCAD/EMTDC are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed control.

  • While making a vigorous discussion about self-regulation for exponential growth of harmful health information on the Internet, many countries lave made various efforts to select and circulate high quality health information on the Internet. The purpose of this study Is to review the serf-regulation methods of health information on the Internet and to suggest quality control methods of health information on the Internet suitable for Korea. Self-regulation methods of the health information on the Internet include ‘content rating system(or content selection system)’, ‘codes of conduct or guideline’, ‘internet hot-line’, ‘education for information providers and consumers’. Any self-regulation method should be used with other methods. We can regulate health information on the Internet effectively by using both self-regulation methods and compulsive methods such as law. Also information providers, information consumers, specialists, consumer representatives, scholars, governments officers should take part in doing these efforts and make concern.

Trend of exhaust emission control of diesel engine vehicles in Korea (국내 경유자동차 배출물 규제동향)

  • This short report describes the trend of exhaust emission control of the diesel engine vehicles in Korea, which originally was motivated from the newly proposed Emission Control Regulation of Diesel Engine Vehicles possible to be activated in 1991 by Korean Environmental Protection Agency. This short survey report has been prepared by the special working group of The Korea Society of Automotive Engineers (KSAE) on this particular subject. This report includes (1) estimation of portions of contribution of diesel engine vehicle emission to total air pollution, (2) comparison of proposals of new articles/regulations/laws in Korea with those of other selected countries such as USA, European countries, and Japan, (3) comparison of vehical emission control regulations in Korea with those in other selected countries, (4) technical aspects of possibilities of reduction of diesel engine vehicle emissions, (5) additional administrational aspects of technology development program, (6) social impact resulted from the severe emission control regulation on diesel engine vehicles, and (7) proposals, prepared by the special working group of the KSAE, on the emission control regulation of diesel engine vehicles, which can possibly bring better cleaner air released from the air pollution resulted from diesel engine exhaust emissions in real sense with minimal financial contribution, with optimal technological efforts, with less social impacts, within five to ten year period.

  • We deal with the regulation problem of nonlinear systems with time-varying delays in both the states and input. A new state feedback controller with dynamic gains is developed based on matrix inequality and non-predictor methods. The proposed control scheme is analyzed using the Razumikhin theorem, and its effectiveness is demonstrated with simulation results.

  • This paper has comprehensively reviewed fine dust control technology from emission sources. Owing to the stringent national regulation, domestic industries have made consistent efforts to develop the high efficiency facilities since 1960s. In these days, harmful particulate pollutants including dioxins and PAHs as well as $PM_{2.5}$ are also of critical interests in government and civic groups. In addition, simultaneous treatment of gas and particles is being widely studied. It is believed that hybrid facilities which integrate a few advanced equipment may meet the atmospheric guidelines.

  • A new implementation strategy for the flux weakening control of a Surface Mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (SPMSM) is proposed. It is implemented based on the output of the synchronous PI current regulator-reference voltage to PWM inverter. The onset of flux weakening and the level of the d-axis current are adjusted by the outer voltage regulation loop to prevent the saturation of the current regulator. The characteristics of this flux weakening scheme include no dependency on the machine parameters, the guarantee of current regulation on any operating condition, and fast transition into and out of the flux weakening mode. Experimental results at various operating conditions including 4-quadrant operation are presented to verify the feasibility of the proposed control scheme.

  • The continuing need for more compact and reliable switching power supplies have aroused a renewed interest in a well founded control technique the Magnetic Amplifier(Magamp). Magamp have some advantages of higher power density, simple control circuit, good regulation, high frequency and high performance. The control method with magamp become attractive solutions for high current post regulated output applications. In this study, it is proposed that the magamp technique in flyback converters with multiple output windings. Operation principle of the proposed approach is described and design guidelines are provided. Experimental verifications on 50W multiple output flyback converter are conducted. Simulations and experimental results show that the proposed approach is high efficiency and voltage regulation of the auxiliary output is excellent.
