  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of corporate governance index on the cost of equity in companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange. This study collects data from 975 observations during the period 2012 to 2018 to test the hypotheses using multiple linear regression model for the panel data. In this research, the independent variable of corporate governance index comprises of 27 specific corporate governance attributes. The results of hypothesis testing showed that corporate governance has a negative and significant effect on the rate of capital cost. In other words, the quality of corporate governance can lower the rate of capital cost. This result suggests that, by using a powerful corporate governance system and by declining the information asymmetry (increasing transparency) and agency conflict, we would be able to enhance the quality of financial reports. It would strengthen the capital market, attract financial suppliers and investors, and absorb the required financial resources of the firm by a lower rate. The findings of the study suggest that companies are able to reduce the cost of equity by establishing strong corporate governance. This conclusion suggests the importance and effectiveness of corporate governance in the cost of equity.

  • The vehicle noise is classified into interior and radiated exterior noise. And it influences on consumer's vehicle decision and traffic noise environment very much. In case of the vehicle exterior noise, it is related with traffic noise and in case of the interior noise, it is related with driver's and passenger's sensitivity quality. Because these influenced on drivers and traffic environment, so standards are restricted by the laws and regulated for the measurement. But, the existence standards measuring the only sound pressure level are limit to reflect consumer's sensitive aspects. Therefore in this study, the recent standards and laws were searched about domestic and abroad papers and the testing mode for the sound quality(SQ) evaluation was constructed about the vehicle interior noise. Finally, we aimed at the standard establishment to evaluate the vehicle interior SQ using statistics method.

  • An exact distribution of the test statistic to test for multiple outlier candidates does not generally exist; therefore, tests of individual outliers (or tests using simulated critical-values) are usually conducted instead of testing for groups of outliers. This article is on procedures to test outlying observations. We suggest a method that can be applied to arbitrary observations or multiple outlier candidates detected by an outlier detecting method. A Monte Carlo study performance is used to compare the proposed method with others.

  • The goal of this research is to develop and apply the integrational model for the pan evaporation and the alfalfa reference evapotranspiration in Republic of Korea. Since the observed data of the alfalfa reference evapotranspiration using lysimeter have not been measured for a long time in Republic of Korea, PM method is used to assume and estimate the observed alfalfa reference evapotranspiration. The integrational model consists of staochastics and neural networks processes respectively. The stochastics process is applied to extend for the short-term monthly pan evaporation and alfalfa reference evapotranspiration. The extended data of the monthly pan evaporation and alfalfa reference evapotranspiration is used to evaluate for the training performance. For the neural networks process, the generalized regression neural networks model(GRNNM) is applied to evaluate for the testing performance using the observed data respectively. From this research, we evaluate the impact of the limited climatical variables on the accuracy of the integrational operation of stochastics and neural networks processes. We should, furthermore, construct the credible data of the pan evaporation and the alfalfa reference evapotranspiration, and suggest the reference data for irrigation and drainage networks system in Republic of Korea.

  • No reliable basic data were available on the kinetic friction coefficients between grains and frictional surfaces being used in grain handling equipments in Korea. In order to determine appropriate kinetic friction coefficient between three grains (Tongil, Jinheung, barley) and two surfaces at four levels of moisture content of grain, the laboratory tests using the newly designed experimental apparatus and strain gage measuring system were carried out, and the relationship among factors that affect kinetic friction coefficients of grains were analyzed. The results of this study are summarized as follows ; 1. Kinetic friction coefficient of samples being tested was dependent on surfaces and moisture content of grains . The ranges of them were 0.369-0.512 for Tongil variety , 0.347-0.469 for Jinheung variety, and 0.360-0.502 for barley, respectively. 2. There was a little difference of kinetic friction coefficients between two varieties of rice at the same testing conditions. Because the interaction had been large among treatments , each value of kinetic friction coefficient determined in this study should be used only for the corresponding conditions in this study . 3. Kinetic friction coefficients in creased linearly with increase in moisture content of grains and their regression equations were shown in Table.4. 4. Kinetic friction coefficients on a PVC surfaces was shown a little lower values than on the steel surfaces at various moisture levels, but especially in Jinheung and barley, a big difference was shown.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to estimate the prevalence of questionable development according to developmental screening testing for children, and to explore biological and environmental risk factors of developmental delays. Method: The study participants were 153 children under two years of age. A questionnaire and Home Observation for measurement of the Environment (HOME) inventory were used to collect data, and Korean Denver II was administered. Results: The overall prevalence of questionable development was 11.1%. Significant differences in biological factors between the normal development group and questionable development group were the rate of prematurity, twins, the educational level of mother and father's and the presence of an illness in the mother (p<.10). Maternal acceptance in HOME was significantly different between the two groups. The factors related to questionable development that were significant in the logistic regression analysis were prematurity (OR=3.56, p=.026), and maternal acceptance in HOME score (OR=.629, p=.028). Conclusion: Early developmental screening tests seem necessary for all children, especially for prematurely born children. Also, child rearing environments were identified as significant factors in the development of all children. These findings suggest that the HOME scores might be useful in identifying children at risk for developmental delays, and that interventions for these children will probably be more effective if their mothers are helped to provide a more appropriate social environment.

  • This study was conducted to understand the sensory characteristics and consumer acceptance for the commercially available clear broth for noodles. Totally, eight different clear broth samples were evaluated in this study. Seven trained panelists developed and evaluated sensory characteristics in the descriptive analysis. Significant differences (p<0.05) were obtained for all 28 attributes evaluated. Descriptive data was obtained by performing multivariate analysis of variance to identify differences between samples. Principal component analysis (PCA) was performed on the mean values of descriptive attributes obtained in the descriptive analysis, and summarizes the sensory characteristics of clear broth for noodles. PCA of the clear broths revealed that the first two principal components are responsible for 80.66% variations. For sensory testing, 160 consumers were recruited, and their acceptance for each sample was assessed. Consumer data was obtained by applying partial least square-regression (PLSR) to establish the relationship between the descriptive data and the consumer acceptance data.

  • This paper studies the factors affecting university and industry collaboration in education in the hospitality industry in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) from a company perspective. The authors use qualitative method and quantitative research to study the matters, specifically using scales and data collected for Cronbach alpha reliability testing, analysizing the discovery factor of EFA, CFA and verifying the regression models through AMOS software with SEM linear modeling. The study proposes four factors: (1) organization factors, (2) contextual factors, (3) process factors, and (4) cooperation perspective impacting on the benefits factors and university and industry collaboration in education. In addition, it is also found that benefits factors has a direct and positive impact on the collaboration in education. The results suggest that the process factor had the strongest positive, followed by the contextual factor. The findings revealed that the benefit factors were significantly related to collaboration in education, which affects university and industry hospitality alliances. This finding confirm that the cooperation perspective (QD) and contextual factors (HC) are critical in collaboration between university and industry. A new point of interest is also identified that the benefits of training links are quite dependent on the linking perspective from tourism businesses.
