Recently, the studio which is urban housing form is rapidly growing up by new residential space according to increasing 1~2 person households form because of Modern members who have changing patterns of life and diversification of social values. The resident of the studio who lives or uses the space for a work such as students, office worker and soho-jok has various characters by a society nature changes and a regional peculiarity. The studio form and function is getting change according to variety trend changes and their life styles. The role and use of residential space also have variety such as the resident who lives in the studio. This study is to find the space utilization for them and reasonable housing solution in that structure, furniture and Wall Storage System of existing studio which is based on the common life patterns. The study's purpose is to propose the furniture design of changeable Wall Storage System according to the analysis.

Three species of the genus Neolygus Knight - N. hakusanensis (Yasunaga, 1991), N. roseus (Yasunaga, 1991) and N. zhugei (Yasunaga, 1991) - are recognized for the first time in Korea. An identification key to the eleven Korean Neolygus species is presented. Some illustrations of male genitalic structures are also provided.

Two species of the genus Andaspis, Andaspis crawii (Cockerell) and Andaspis kashicola (Takahashi) are newly recorded in the Korean fauna of armored scales (Diaspididae). A key to species of Andaspis, illustrative photographs and information on the distribution and hosts of each species, are also provided to identify the specimens of Andaspis collected in Korea.

Previously, we had reported that some Miamiensis avidus, a major pathogen of scuticociliatosis in cultured olive flounder, strongly agglutinated by flounder immune sera could escape from the agglutinated mass within a few hours. In the present study, we observed that M. avidus not only escaped from the agglutinated mass but also conducted division(s) before shedding its old covering. Furthermore, ciliates that survived the antibody-dependent complement killing (ADCK) assay were not killed even when re-exposed to a freshly prepared ADCK assay. This result suggests that the liberated ciliates from the ADCK assay might change not only their i-antigen types but also the epitopes of major surface antigens, which debilitate antibody-mediated complement killing ability.

So far, the water management have separately been accomplished by water supply, flood control, and environmental river management. In spite of sustainable policy of water resource development, flood & drought damage, poor water accident, and deterioration of river ecosystem have continuously occurred. It means that it is difficult to improve those problems with the present systems and institutions. So, it is time to discuss to change the present water management system of administrative sense into the one classified by the watershed in order to understand problems of water resource in the regional basis. First, a integration of similar branch office in organization and a work specialization should be driven in the government. Second, it is desirable to develop the water resources according to the inherent characteristics of the watershed.

Basal stem rot symptoms were found on blueberry seedlings imported from the United States of America in 2008. The fungus obtained from the diseased seedlings was identified as Calonectria colhounii based on morphological and molecular characteristics. The consignments of the blueberry seedlings infected with C. colhounii were destroyed to prevent introduction of the fungus to Korea.

This study was conducted to investigate the hatchability and infertility of the ostrich eggs. Seven batches of ostrich eggs were imported from Australia into Korea in winter season under quarantine restrictions. Single stage incubation was carried out and the eggs were weighed before incubation. The weight of imported ostrich eggs was varied from 1,074 to over 1,650g and the average egg weights for batches were similar. The hatchability of all eggs batch was reached between 11 and 31%. The infertility of seven batches was varied from 36 to 63%. The first batch of eggs showed relatively low infertility(39％) and high hatchability (31％). On the contrary, the last batch of eggs had low Infertility(36%), and it had the lowest hatchability(11%). The result of this study suggests that hatchability of ostrich eggs imported in late laying season is significantly low because the number of infertile eggs is increased.

There is a wide range of agreement for reorganization of administrative units. It is expected that regionalization of city governments and city-county consolidation would contribute to enhance efficiency of extension services and weaken citizen accessibility, responsiveness, and participation. Therefore, it is suggested that branch office of extension center should be provided to the isolated rural areas in order to maintain the appropriate level of services. Also, the relationship and linkage between the national/regional government and local extension centers should be reshaped by making current linkage system such as monthly Provincial Meeting and central-local association more effective. Establishment of agricultural database of each local region is needed to strengthen local extension center's role. Finally, extension service agency needs to consider to expand its function from the traditional extension services to a variety of 'rural issues.'

Thirteen species of mealybugs were intercepted in quarantine at Korean ports of entry on plant materials from China over the past 9 years (2000-2009). Of these, Phenacoccus madeirensis Green has been newly reported in China through this study. This list and key are provided to assist in identifying intercepted specimens of mealybugs from China.

자성 결정체인 $Fe_3O_4$ 나노 입자를 합성하기위하여 강한 극성 용매인 2-pyrrolidone을 연전도 반응매개체로 하여 용액 내에 $FeCl_3{\cdot}6H_2O$을 용해시켜 2-pyrrolidone의 비등점까지 나노 결정체 고온 열분해 방법을 이용하여 제조되었다. 고온 열분해 후, $Fe_3O_4$ 나노 입자는 methanol/diethyl ether (1:3)에 의해서 침전되어졌다. 합성된 $Fe_3O_4$ 나노 입자는 고결정도, 고자기성을 가지고 있으며, 수용성의 자성 나노 결정체이다. 합성된 $Fe_3O_4$ 나노 입자의 크기와 결정도는 transmission electron microscope (TEM, Tecnai F20)를 이용하여 특성 분석하였으며, area electron diffraction (SAED) pattern과 HRTEM을 이용하여 나노입자의 격자 패턴 (lattice fringes)을 확인하였다.
