The purpose of this study is to develop an evaluation tool for map-based data visualization platforms and to conduct heuristic usability evaluations on existing platforms representing inter-regional information. We compared and analyzed the usability evaluation criteria of map-based platforms from the previous studies along with Nielsen's (1994) 10 usability evaluation principles. We proposed nine evaluation criteria, including (1) visibility, (2) representation of the real world, (3) consistency and standards, (4) user control and friendliness, (5) flexibility, (6) design, (7) compatibility, (8) error prevention and handling, and (9) help provision and documentation. Additionally, to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed criteria, four experts was invited to evaluate five domestic and international map-based data visualization platforms. As a result, the experts were able to rank the usability of the five platforms using the proposed map-based data visualization usability evaluation criteria, which included quantified scores and subjective opinions. The results of this study are expected to serve as foundational material for the future development and evaluation of map-based visualization platforms.
Background: Though clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for cardiac rehabilitation (CR) are an effective and widely used treatment method worldwide, they are as yet not widely accepted in Korea. Given that cardiovascular disease is the second leading cause of death in Korea, it is urgent that CR programs be developed. In 2008, the Government of Korea implemented CR programs at 11 university hospitals as part of its Regional Cardio-Cerebrovascular Center Project, and 3 additional medical facilities will be added in 2019. In addition, owing to the promotion of CR nationwide and the introduction of CR insurance benefits, 40 medical institutions nationwide have begun CR programs even as a growing number of medical institutions are preparing to offer CR. The purpose of this research was to develop evidence-based CPGs to support CR implementation in Korea. Methods: This study is based on an analysis of CPGs elsewhere in the world, an extensive literature search, a systematic analysis of multiple randomized control trials, and a CPG management, development, and assessment committee comprised of 33 authors-primarily rehabilitation specialists, cardiologists, and thoracic surgeons in 21 university hospitals and 2 general hospitals. Twelve consultants, primarily rehabilitation, sports medicine, and preventive medicine specialists, CPG experts, nurses, physical therapists, clinical nutritionists, and library and information experts participated in the research and development of these CPGs. After the draft guidelines were developed, 3 rounds of public hearings were held with staff members from relevant academic societies and stakeholders, after which the guidelines were further reviewed and modified. Results: CR involves a more cost-effective use of healthcare resources relative to that of general treatments, and the exercise component of CR lowers cardiovascular mortality and readmission rates, regardless of the type of coronary heart disease and type and setting of CR. Conclusion: Individualized CR programs should be considered together with various factors, including differences in heart function and lifestyle, and doing so will boost participation and adherence with the CR program, ultimately meeting the final goals of the program, namely reducing the recurrence of myocardial infarction and mortality rates.
Purpose: Periodontal disease causes tooth loss and is associated with cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis. The present study proposes using a deep learning-based object detection method to identify periodontally compromised teeth on digital panoramic radiographs. A faster regional convolutional neural network (faster R-CNN) which is a state-of-the-art deep detection network, was adapted from the natural image domain using a small annotated clinical data- set. Materials and Methods: In total, 100 digital panoramic radiographs of periodontally compromised patients were retrospectively collected from our hospital's information system and augmented. The periodontally compromised teeth found in each image were annotated by experts in periodontology to obtain the ground truth. The Keras library, which is written in Python, was used to train and test the model on a single NVidia 1080Ti GPU. The faster R-CNN model used a pretrained ResNet architecture. Results: The average precision rate of 0.81 demonstrated that there was a significant region of overlap between the predicted regions and the ground truth. The average recall rate of 0.80 showed that the periodontally compromised teeth regions generated by the detection method excluded healthiest teeth areas. In addition, the model achieved a sensitivity of 0.84, a specificity of 0.88 and an F-measure of 0.81. Conclusion: The faster R-CNN trained on a limited amount of labeled imaging data performed satisfactorily in detecting periodontally compromised teeth. The application of a faster R-CNN to assist in the detection of periodontally compromised teeth may reduce diagnostic effort by saving assessment time and allowing automated screening documentation.
In order to improve the functions of libraries in each region, it is necessary to establish the guideline of area of space size according to size and region. Therefore, this study aims to present the guideline of area of space size of public libraries for the revision of the manual of 2013. The study findings are as follows. First, the theoretical and preceding studies have raised a need to present the guidelines on the areas of public libraries nationwide since the guidelines of areas presented in Gyeonggi Province have been derived from the provincial libraries of Gyeonggi only. It is also necessary to analyze and verify the guidelines of areas of public libraries nationwide in Korea based on the guidelines of areas for Gyeonggi Province. Second, I have analyzed the areas of public libraries nationwide. I have conducted comparative analysis and verification in comparison with the areas in Gyeonggi Province through the ${\pm}5%$ error range presented in the existing manual, which has led to the conclusion that the guidelines of areas in Gyeonggi Province are within the error range and thus are applicable to public libraries nationwide. Third, I have presented the five different types of guidelines of areas. This study is expected to facilitate accelerating the decision-making and policy establishment as part of the construction and remodeling plans. In the future, however, more detailed studies on libraries bigger than $5,000m^2$ is needed.

This study has the purpose of reviewing the period when four types of alternative versions of ${\ll}$Cheonggudo(靑邱圖)${\gg}$ were produced. The study results can be summarized as follows: First, "Cheonggudobeomrye(靑邱圖凡例)" was drawn up after 1834 when the "Cheonggudoje(靑邱圖題)" was drawn up. Second, it was highly possible that was drawn beginning from 1846 when Chongyungcheong(摠戎廳) was changed into Chongwiyeong(總衛營) to 1849 when Chongwiyeong was changed into Cheongyungcheong again. Third, it was highly possible that "Cheonggudobeomre" in which it was recorded that was inserted was also drawn up after 1864. Fourth, the order of drawing up the records were as follows: ${\ll}$Cheonggudo${\gg}$ without "Cheonggudobeomrye" and ${\rightarrow}$${\ll}$Cheonggudo${\gg}$ that has the but without "Cheonggudobeomrye" ${\rightarrow}$${\ll}$Cheonggudo${\gg}$ that has "Cheonggudobeomrye" and which was represented by a shape like a peak ${\rightarrow}$${\ll}$Cheonggudo${\gg}$ that has "Cheonggudobeomrye" and was represented by a shape of mountain range.

Recently in connection with the development of network technology, GIS researches shift their focuses to openGIS which enables to share heterogeneous geodata and geoprocessing resource under the environment of LAN and WAN. This study proposes an easy method to develope GUIs which enables openGIS in the intranet environment. In the developing stage of GUI, the most important thing is to develop effective windows programming technique and apply a internet linking technique to developed GUIs. This study shows an internet linking technique and a GUI developing method using OLE automation and ActiveX/COM standards. Using a case study of Taegu City Library, the study constructs a GIS database and develops its GUI which performs map overlaying, referencing attribute tables, drawing up of thematic map, buffer analysis, and statistical calculations. This study remains same further research areas of developing a new advanced technique for openGIS and its GUI using distributed object model of CORBA, Java language, and JDBC data accessing technique.

The study is to systematically review "DaedongYeojiJeondo", the mid-sized wood block map of Chosun to shed light on the cartographic characteristics not discovered by previous studies. First it was discovered that Kim Jung-ho is the developer of the map as the distance information from Seoul to towns is identical with the information on "Daedong Jiji" the manuscript map drawn by Kim Jung-ho himself (assumed to live from 1804~1866) that is still remaining unfinished. Second, the information Kim Jung-ho wanted to specify most precisely and specifically was distance from Seoul to towns and for this purpose he invented unique symbols for towns in tiny size on the map. Third, in selecting information to mark on the map including road network, street information, mountain routes and streams and location of islands, "DaedongYeojiJeondo" is not just a simple smaller copy of "DaedongYeojido" but an independent creative work as it is much different in many aspects of quality. Forth, but still "DaedongYeojiJeondo" and "DaedongYeojido" have something in common in the fact both of them tried to mark land and mountain routes and streams most precisely and specifically.
