동적계획법을 이용한 자작 하이브리드 자동차의 용량 매칭 (Component Sizing for the Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) of Our Own Making Using Dynamic Programming)

  • Generally, the fuel economy of hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is effected by the size of each component. In this study the fuel economy for HEV of our own making is evaluated using backward simulator, where dynamic programming is applied. In a competition, the vehicle is running through the road course that includes many speed bumps and steep grade. Therefore, the new driving cycle including road grade is developed for the simulation. The backward simulator is also developed through modeling each component. A performance map of engine and motor for component sizing is made from the existing engine map and motor map adapted to the HEV of our own making. For optimal component sizing, the feasible region is defined by restricting the power range of power sources. Optimal component size for best fuel economy is obtained within the feasible region through the backward simulation.

남부 광역 생활폐기물 종합처리시설 조경설계 (Landscape Design for Integrated Disposal Treatment Facility in Southern Region)

  • This landscape design proposal was presented to a design competition for the Incheon-city Southern Region Integrated Disposal Treatment Facility. The site is located in Dongchun-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. The main design concepts are as follows: First, considering connection of the site with surrounding water, inner sea is designed as an environmentally friendly place and as a leisure-sports theme park in which several sports facilities and relaxing places are arranged. It is also designed for everyone: people of all ages, disabled, workers, visitors and local residents. The design was processed on the basis of survey, analysis of surrounding competing facilities and SWOT analysis. Second, the ecological planting model was developed by analyzing the natural vegetation map in the surrounding area and planted vegetation types in the seaside reclamation area. The model was then applied to the ecological community, park area and roadside trees, so as to harmonize with the local habitat. Third, the project is intended to launch private capital for managing the sports park and golf course. This will enable a entrepreneur to make flexible plans for golf training field that is expected to yield a good financial return. It is expected that this design would serve the local residents as a symbolic, environmentally friendly leisure-sports theme park.

A Study on Port Alliance between Incheon Port and Major Ports in Northern China

  • Recently, amount of cargoes from main ports in Northeast Asia have rapidly increased and as well surplus port development in same region corresponded with the boom in external trade that resulted from successful export-oriented economics strategy by China, Japan and South Korea. To cope with this business circumstances, a certain form of port alliance is desperately needed to provide a suitable service to customer and establish their countervailing power against the shipping alliance. Nevertheless, Incheon seaport has not made a definite port alliance system with main ports in Northern China yet. Thus, the purpose of this study is to identify the key success factors to form a port alliance through examining previous studies. We have benchmarked previous studies which are related to main ports in global region and the questionnaire on customers of ports. By studying this, we are able to suggest a few strategies for forming successful port alliance to enhance Incheon port's capabilities in the long term plan. As a policy proposal, this study suggests Incheon port and main ports in Northern China should construct a logistics infrastructure through mutual investment and provide an incentive system when the ocean carrier makes port call to both ports.

Factors Affecting Students' Decision to Choose Regional Public Universities: An Empirical Study from Vietnam

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of several factors on students' decisions to attend a public institution in Vietnam's North Central area. The enrollment issue toward regional institutions is particularly critical in the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training reforming the university enrollment process and the complicated scenario of the Covid-19 pandemic. A total of 500 students were surveyed for research samples. Data is synthesized, validated, cleaned, and analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software using methods including reliability, EFA, CFA, and SEM. The findings suggest that the proposed independent components (individual factors, study fees, advertisement, infrastructure and facilities, local features, and lastly, training activities) have a beneficial impact on students' decision to attend a public university in the North Central region. The study also found that the graduation exam outcome had a moderating effect on the relationship between registration and students' decisions. These imply targeted solutions for regional public universities to diversify training majors, improve training quality, capitalize on local advantages, increase interaction, and promote training programs and image to be more effective in attracting students and maintaining competition in the current enrollment environment.

북극의 재발견: 국제 자원경쟁의 새로운 각축장? (Rediscovery of the Arctic: A New Arena of Competition for Natural Resources in the 21st Century?)

  • Over the past few years, due to the climate change of the earth, the Arctic's sea ice cover is undergoing a historic transformation - thinning, extent reduction in all seasons, and mitigation in the area of multi-year ice in the central Arctic Ocean. These changes allow for increases in maritime access throughout the Arctic Ocean and for potential longer seasons of navigation and possibly transarctic voyage in the summer. These changes also allow more exploration for oil, gas, and other minerals. The Arctic is now an archetype of the complex, multi-dimensional global problems of the twenty-first century. Military security, environmental security, and economic security interact. The potentially enormous economic stakes, sufficient to change the strategic balance among the states of the region, set off competitive pressures for national advantage. Korea, which is heavily dependent upon the sea lane in terms of transportation of its exports and imports, is very much interested in the Arctic sea routes. Korea believes that the Artic sea route, particularly the Northern Sea Route (NSR), could serve as a new useful sea lane, which will enable shorter times between East Asia and Europe, thus resulting in substantial cost saving for ship operators. In addition to shipping, Korea is interested in other Arctic-related maritime industries. Korea, as a leading shipbuilder in the global market, is interested in building ice breakers, drill ships, and other vessels which can contribute to safe operation in Arctic resource development and exploration. Korea, as one of the future stakeholders in Arctic maritime activities, should be ready to foster international cooperation in the region.

전자종이 디스플레이 기반 ESL의 시장현황 및 분석 (Market Status and Analysis of ESL Based on Electronic Paper Display)

  • Recently, retail technology has been developed by the rapid evolution of e-commerce and a representative example is ESL technology. In this study, we investigate ESL technology, market status and forecasts, and analyze the competitive structure between relational companies. Market analysis refers to data from market reports of Marketsandmarkets and Research, and internet media. In ESL, the display field is predicted to account for 43% of the total market in 2026, and is converting from LCD to electronic paper. The segmented type is becoming more advanced into the full-graphic type, and CAGR of 18.7% for 3-7 inches and 20.6% for 7-10 inches is predicted. The demand for ESL is greatest in North America and Europe, but CAGR is the highest in the Asia-Pacific region at 19.1%. Since ESL technology has a lot of overlap with semiconductor and display technology, the Asia-Pacific region is relatively advantageous, and this has led to rapid growth of domestic companies. However, it is expected that competition from European companies that are actually owned by Chinese companies will increase in the future, so continuous technological development and new market development are necessary.

한국산 살모사과 3종의 경쟁과 공간적 생태 - 생태적 지위를 기반으로 한 모델과 지리정보시스템 적용 - (Interspecific Competition and spatial Ecology of three Species of Vipers in Korea: An Application of Ecological niche-based Models and GIS)

  • 생물종의 경쟁과 공간적 분포, 생태적 지위의 관계에 대한 정보는 생물지리학적 분포형태를 이해하는 데 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 연구에서는 한국에 서식하고 있는 살모사과 3종(Gloydius ussuriensis, G. brevicaudus, G. saxatilis)에 대해 관찰자료와 종 분포 모델 기법을 바탕으로 분포 특성과 종의 생태적 지위를 산출하였고, 예측된 종 분포 모델들을 바탕으로 지리적 분포와 생태적 지위의 분화에 대한 종간 경쟁 관계의 영향을 추론하였다. 연구 결과 고도가 살모사들의 분포에 가장 중요한 환경변수로 나타났으며, 그들이 분포한 고도는 그 지역의 기후와 상관관계를 나타냈다. 종간 생태적 지위는 비교적 높게 중첩되어 있었지만, 예측된 3종의 분포형태는 태백산맥을 기준으로 차이를 나타냈다. 분포모델들을 중첩한 결과, 종간 중첩된 지역의 서식지는 대부분 산림지역으로, 전체 조사 지역에 비해 비교적 작은 범위가 중첩되어 접소적인 분포형태가 예측되었다. 또한 중첩된 지역에 분포한 개체수는 종간 양의 상관관계를 나타내고 있어, 이 지역에서 종간 경쟁이 심하지 않다는 것을 암시하고 있다. 결론적으로 한국에 서식하고 있는 살모사과 3종은 유사한 생태적 지위를 차지하고 있지만, 직접적인 경쟁 없이 접소적인 분포형태를 띠고 있는 것으로 보인다. 향후 접소적인 분포형태를 일으키는 직접적인 요인을 알아내기 위해, 보다 자세한 생태학적, 행동학적 연구와 더불어 비교적 세밀한 격자 크기를 통한 다양한 지형변수(고도, 미소서식지 특성 등)들에 대한 연구가 진행될 필요가 있다.

기업가적 지방정치와 지역정책의 변화 (Entrepreneurial Local Governance and the Changing Regional Policy in Chonnam Region)

  • 본 연구는 세계화, 지방화, 경쟁의 심화과정에서 농촌지역인 전남지역을 사례로 지역정책이 어떻게 변화하고 있는지를 살펴보았다. 지역이라고 하는 공간은 기존의 국가에 의해 보호받고, 종속되는 개념에서 국가의 역할과 기능이 축소되면서 세계경제의 직접적인 투자단위로서 노출되고 있다. 때문에 지역은 상대적 자율성이 확대되고 급속도로 빨라진 자본의 자유로운 이동에 따라 자본에 의한 선택적 공간으로 작용한다. 그러므로 지방정부는 지역성장을 위해 기업가적 요소를 도입하고, 자본에 친화적인 정책을 추진한다. 그것은 자본을 유치하기 위해 장소마케팅으로 나타나며, 이는 지역을 매력있는 장소로 가꾸기 위해 지역의 정체성과 고유한 문화를 활용한다. 특히 생산자본으로 지역활성화를 기대하기 힘든 농촌지역에서는 지역이미지 통일화, 이벤트개발, 향토 지적(知的) 계산 발굴 등 지역의 자연자원이나 문화자원을 상품화하기 위해 자치단체가 상품개발에 직접 참여하고 주도하는 기업가적 정책이 나타나고 있다. 이러한 성장 중심의 기업주의 정책은 분배의 왜곡 및 불균등과 같은 사회정의 문제를 야기할 수도 있다.

동남권 기계.금속산업클러스터의 광역적 지원체계 구축전략 (The Strategies for Forming Governance System to Raise Industrial Competitiveness of Metal and Machinery Industrial Clusters in South-East Region, Korea)

  • 이 글은 동남권 지역에 형성된 광역적 산업클러스터를 확인하고 그것을 효과적으로 지원하기 위한 방안을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 산업클러스터의 광역화와 광역적 거버넌스에 관한 이론 및 선행연구들을 검토하고, 동남권의 기계 금속산업클러스터 형성실태를 분석하였다. 동남권의 산업도시들은 1970년대 후반에 이미 회랑형의 기계 금속산업벨트를 구축하였고 오늘날에는 십여 개의 산업도시들이 긴밀히 연계된 대규모 기계 금속산업클러스터를 형성하고 있다. 동남권 지역에 있어서 산업도시의 연계는 점차 규모가 확대되고 있을 뿐 아니라 제철, 조선, 자동차, 플랜트 분야 등에서 경쟁력이 높아지고 있다. 그리고 지리적 범위도 대구 경북 지역으로 확대되어 이제 그 형태가 목걸이형 혹은 수차(물레방아)형을 갖게 되었다. 그것은 행정구역상으로는 부산, 울산, 경남, 대구, 경북, 전남 일부를 포함하는 것이다. 그리고 이러한 분석에 기반하여, 동남권의 광역적 기계 금속산업클러스터의 산업경쟁력을 강화할 수 있는 정책방안과 거버넌스체계를 모색하였다. 동남권에서 근래에 대두하고 있는 문제는 산업적 연계망의 공간적 범위와 행정구역 간의 불일치이다. 산업클러스터의 광역화에 따라서 이를 효율적으로 지원하는 행정지원체계를 구축하기 위한 현실적인 방안들을 검토하였다.

완도지역 미역가공업의 구조재편에 관한 사례 연구 (A Study on the Restructuring of Seaweed Processing Industry)

  • The seaweed processing industry in Korea has developed since the late of 1970s, motivated by exports of salted seaweed to the Japan market. However, due to the keen competition of Korean salted and dried seaweed with chinese products in the japan market, exports of Korean seaweed have been in the decreasing. It also has promoted the restructuring of the seaweed processing industry itself as follows: first, the processing type has been changed from the slated seaweed processing to the dried seaweed processing. Second, domestic markets for seaweed have been significantly expanded. This study is aimed to investigate some problems that the seaweed processing industry currently faces and to provide responding strategies for its development by analyzing a background, characteristics, and business types in the Wando region of Jeollanamdo that is a primary region of the seaweed processing industry in Korea. The background that the seaweed processing industry in Wando region could be started and developed is that first, small and mid-size salted seaweed processing companies have grown fast due to the exports to the japan market. Second, various business conditions, including seaweed materials, labors that are very important factors for the seaweed processing were more suitable compared to other regions. As characteristics of the seaweed processing industry, it shows that small-scale companies have a larger decreasing rate in sales and over 85% companies process seaweed together with other materials such as kelp, etc. The biggest problem that the seaweed processing industry has is that it has not timely responded to changes in domestic and international markets. Therefore, it is very important to cope with market changes by both introducing an aquaculture outlook service for seaweed and promoting higher value-added products and demands through publicities.
