The theory of generalized thermo-magneto-electroelasticity is employed to obtain the plane wave solutions in an unbounded, homogeneous and transversely isotropic medium. Reflection phenomena of plane waves is considered at a stress free and thermally insulated surface. For incidence of a plane wave, the expressions of reflection coefficients and energy ratios for reflected waves are derived. To explore the characteristics of reflection coefficients and energy ratios, a quantitative example is set up. The half-space of the thermo-magneto-electroelastic medium is assumed to be made out of lithium niobate. The dependence of reflection coefficients and energy ratios on the angle of incidence is illustrated graphically for different values of electric, magnetic and thermal parameters.

The effect of a finite substrate on the radiation characteristics of a linear 7-element array antenna positioned along the E-plane is investigated. Active reflection coefficients and average active element patterns are simulated for various substrate sizes. The E-plane radiation pattern of a fully excited array for various scan angles is correlated with the active reflection coefficient and average acitive element pattern. The effect of E-plane substrate size on the radiation characteristics of a linear array along the E-plane is larger than that of H-plane substarte size.
In this article, we consider a minimal graph in $R^3$ which is bounded by a Jordan curve and a straight line. Suppose that the boundary is symmetric with the reflection under a plane, then we will prove that the minimal graph is itself symmetric under the reflection through the same plane.
The propagation of plane waves in a linear, homogeneous and isotropic nonlocal generalized thermoelastic solid medium is considered in the framework of Lord and Shulman generalization. The governing field equations are formulated and specialized in a plane. Plane wave solutions of governing equations show that there exists three plane waves, namely, P, thermal and SV waves which propagate with distinct speeds. Reflection of P and SV waves from thermally insulated or isothermal boundary of a half-space is considered. The relevant boundary conditions are applied at stress free boundary and a non-homogeneous system of three equations in reflection coefficients is obtained. For incidence of both P and SV waves, the expressions for energy ratios of reflected P, thermal and SV waves are also obtained. The speeds and energy ratios of reflected waves are computed for relevant physical constants of a thermoelastic material. The speeds of plane waves are plotted against nonlocal parameter and frequency. The energy ratios of reflected waves are also plotted against the angle of incidence of P wave at a thermally insulated stress-free surface. The effect of nonlocal parameter is shown graphically on the speeds and energy ratios of reflected waves.
Complex acoustic signals can be formed in a water-filled acoustic pulse tube under some exciting conditions. It makes difficult to measure plane-wave reflection coefficient with the pulse tube for low frequency bands. In this study, using COMSOL Multiphysics we show that the tube wall excitation generates complex acoustic field of nonplanar mode as well as planar one. From such field incident or reflected planar mode can be decomposed respectively with a modal decomposition method, two-dimensional Fourier filtering. It makes possible to more accurately determine the plane-wave reflection coefficient of acoustic specimen with time gating.

The objective of this paper is to perform measurements of power transmission and reflection coefficients in a coupled plate. The coupled plate has been divided into 2 subsystems. The out-of-plane vibration has been only considered with assumption of relatively small in-plane vibration. The coupling loss factors have been measured with consideration of the power balance condition. The power transmission and reflection coefficients has been estimated from the measured values of the coupling loss factors. The measured power transmission and reflection coefficients have been compared with the corresponding theoretical coefficients in a semi-infinite coupled plate.
In this paper, we deal with EMI Analysis on Microstrip with Defected Ground plane. Specially, we investigate reflection, transmission, crosstalk, radiated emission on Microstrip with Defected Ground plane structure. And investigates undesired effects on various defected ground plane such as ground with split, slot, short end and open end gap. To analyze reflection, transmission and crosstalk of microstrip with defected ground plane, we used concept of the microstrip to slot line transition model. Besides, investigate radiated emission using FDTD Commercial tools such as CST MW

In the case of Impingement of plane moving shock wave over concave or convex double wedges (pseudo-stationary flow) and cylindrical walls (truly non-stationary flow), it Is expected that there are transitions from regular reflection to Mach reflection or vice versa In shock wave reflections. In these connections, it is necessary to verify the various of reflection process and transition angle for the reflection problems In double wedges, and to verify the transition angle, effects of curvature radius and initial wall angle on it for the reflection problems In cylindrical walls. Especially, we focused our attention to confirm the existence of hysteresis phenomenon induced by the different transition processes, and Neumann paradox, which is a small discrepancy between theoretical and experimental transition angles. Experiments were carried out by using the shock tube of $6{\times}6cm^2$, and high speed photographic technique consisted of delay unit, triggering system, light source of Xe lamp and so on was used for flow visualization.
The reflection coefficient of a material at oblique incidence is measured in a free field. The sound pressure distributions are measured at discrete points on two measurement lines and then decomposed into plane wave components by using spatial Fourier transform. The inciedent and reflected plane wave components are obtained from a set of "decomposition equations" of which uses the plane wave propagation theory. Numerical simulations and experiments have been performed to see the effect of finite size of measurement area. To reduce this effect, a window fuction has been performed to see the effects of finite size of mesurement area. To reduce this effect, a window function has been proposed and its effect on the measurement of sound absorbing material property has been studied as well. The reflection coefficient obtained by this method is compared with those obtained from other methods; 2-microphone method in a duct and an expirical equation of which determines the characteristic impedance .rho.c and propagation constant k of a material from flow resistance information.formation.
Silicon bulk micromachined micromirrors are designed and fabricated for out-of-plane right angle reflection. The micromirror is comprised of a minor plate, springs, magnetic bars and electrodes. Single crystalline silicon is used for a flatness improvement of a mirror plate. Out-of-plane right angle reflection requires a 45 degree operation of the micromirror. The micromirrors are operated by applying a magnetic field, which is generated by a coil located below a substrate. For an individual mirror operation, each mirror is clamped using an electrostatic force against the electromagnetic force. Angular deflections are measured and compared with theoretical data. The micro mirror operates up to 45 degree when magnetic field is 4 kA/m which is generated by a 115 mA coil current Simple addressing is tested, and it is shown that a clamping voltage is less than 5V.
