웹 기반 참고정보원 사이트의 구축에 관한 연구 (A Study on Building a Web-based Reference Resources Site)

  • As the number of Web reference resources are gradually increasing, reference librarians have to create a Web-based reference resources site. This site includes links to the Web reference resources of good quality, so that reference librarians and users will become accustomed to using these resources. This Study first explores the function of the Web-based reference resources site. Next, it carries out a survey of the current trends in america and Korea. Finally, a model Web-based reference resources site for academic libraries is developed.

온라인지식정보서비스 품질 향상을 위한 온라인지식정보원 확보 및 연계전략에 관한 연구 (A Study on Gathering & Connecting Online Reference Resources for Improving the Quality of Online Knowledge Service)

  • 본 연구에서는 세계 여러 나라에서 이루어지고 있는 지식정보서비스(참고봉사)의 품질을 향상시키기 위한 것으로, 전문사서가 신속 정확하게 정보자원을 검색해서 제공할 수 있도록 하는 정보접근 환경의 조성방안, 즉 온라인 정보자원의 확보 및 효과적 연계방안을 제안하고 있다. 이를 위해 지금까지 논의되었던 이론적 논의와 국내외 온라인참고정보원 구축사례를 분석하고 이로부터 시사점을 도출하였으며, 이를 기반으로 한 본 연구의 제안 내용은 다음과 같다. 1) 온라인참고정보원의 공동 구축 및 공동활용, 2) 분류체계 개발 및 정보원의 주제별 세분화, 3) 메타데이터 등 표준화된 데이터포맷 개발, 4) 온라인참고정보원 선정기준 개발, 5) '질의/응답DB'를 주제별로 분류 제공, 6) 각종 국가 DB 및 오픈액세스 저널 등 연계 가능한 모든 자료를 연계.

인공신경망과 유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 증발접시 증발량과 증발산량의 모형화 (Pan Evaporation and Reference Evapotranspiration Modeling using Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithm)

  • The goal of this research is to develop and apply the generalized regression neural networks model (GRNNM) embedding genetic algorithm (GA) for pan evaporation, which is missed or ungaged and for the alfalfa reference evapotranspiration, which is not measured in South Korea. The GRNNM-GA is evaluated using the training, the testing, and reproduction performance respectively for the estimation of the PE and the alfalfa reference evapotranspiration. Since the observed data of the alfalfa reference evapotranspiration using lysimeter have not been measured for a long time in South Korea, the PM method is used to assume and estimate the observed alfalfa reference evapotranspiration. From this research, we evaluate the impact of the limited climatical variables on the accuracy of the GRNNM-GA. We should, furthermore, construct the credible data of the PE and the alfalfa reference evapotranspiration and suggest the reference data for irrigation and drainage networks system in South Korea.

A Study Analyzing Reference Linking Service in Digital Libraries

  • This study seeks to present an option for including a variety of information resources in a reference linking service system. Discussion on reference linking service in journals began in 1999 and applied to real systems, but linking to research papers and patent registers has more recently emerged. This study further suggests that system construction include various information resources such as books and dissertations. This paper also presents principles and prerequisites that should be considered essential when building such systems, including expansion of resources and media formats, development of identifiers on every sort of information resource, linking methods to existing DB, publication revolution and managing copyright-holders, use and improvement of OPACs, and building perfect authority DB.

Very-Far Remote Reference Magnetotelluric Surveys across the Hemispheres

  • 2-D MT surveys at the Century mine in Australia have been performed with very far remote reference in Esashi, Japan as well as Gregory Downs, which are roughly 6400 km and 80 km apart from the field site, respectively. Long period pulsations observed in this survey generally showed dominant $H_x$ polarization than $H_y$; $H_x$ component is more than 3 times stronger than $H_y$ component. Polarity reversal in magnetic field pointing east ($H_y$ component) has also been observed in long period pulsations, while $H_x$ component remain coherent between the hemispheres. Though $H_x$ component shows relatively good coherency than $H_y$ component between the hemispheres at frequencies lower than 0.01 Hz, it seems rather too far to be used as a remote reference for ordinary MT frequency band.

Case studies for solving the Saint-Venant equations using the method of characteristics: pipeline hydraulic transients and discharge propagation

  • This study aims to present a hydraulic transitory study as MOC applications for solving the Saint-Venant equations in two case studies: 1) in a penstock of a small hydropower system as a simple pipeline in the case of valve-closure in the downstream boundary with a reservoir in the upstream boundary; and 2) for discharge propagation into a channel by velocity and depth of the flow channel along space evaluation. The proposed methodology by Chaudry [5] concerning the development of hydrodynamic models was used. The obtained results for first and second case study has been confirmed that MOC numerical approach is useful for several engineering purposes, including cases of hydraulic transients and discharge propagation in hydraulic systems.

  • The goal of this research is to develop and apply the integrational model for the pan evaporation and the alfalfa reference evapotranspiration in Republic of Korea. Since the observed data of the alfalfa reference evapotranspiration using lysimeter have not been measured for a long time in Republic of Korea, PM method is used to assume and estimate the observed alfalfa reference evapotranspiration. The integrational model consists of staochastics and neural networks processes respectively. The stochastics process is applied to extend for the short-term monthly pan evaporation and alfalfa reference evapotranspiration. The extended data of the monthly pan evaporation and alfalfa reference evapotranspiration is used to evaluate for the training performance. For the neural networks process, the generalized regression neural networks model(GRNNM) is applied to evaluate for the testing performance using the observed data respectively. From this research, we evaluate the impact of the limited climatical variables on the accuracy of the integrational operation of stochastics and neural networks processes. We should, furthermore, construct the credible data of the pan evaporation and the alfalfa reference evapotranspiration, and suggest the reference data for irrigation and drainage networks system in Republic of Korea.

Probiotic Properties of Lactobacillus brevis KU200019 and Synergistic Activity with Fructooligosaccharides in Antagonistic Activity against Foodborne Pathogens

  • This study aims to evaluate the probiotic properties of Lactobacillus brevis (L. brevis) KU200019 and the synergistic activity with prebiotics on antimicrobial activity, and the potential application as an adjunct culture in fermented dairy products. The commercial strain, L. brevis ATCC 14869 was used as reference strain. L. brevis KU200019 was showed higher viability in simulated gastric (99.38±0.21%) and bile (115.10±0.13%) conditions compared to reference strain. L. brevis KU200019 exhibited antimicrobial activity against various foodborne pathogens. The supplementation of fructooligosaccharides (FOS) enhanced viability of lactic acid bacteria (>8 Log CFU/mL) and antioxidant activity [2,2-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical assay (DPPH) assay, 31.23±1.14%; 2,2-azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) assay, 38.82±1.46%] in fermented skim milk during refrigerated storage. L. brevis KU200019 was distinguished from the reference strain by its higher probiotic potential, antimicrobial activity, and higher antioxidant activity in fermented milk. Therefore, L. brevis KU200019 with FOS was demonstrated promising properties for further application in fermented dairy products with enhanced safety and quality.

협력형 참고봉사 서비스 비교 연구 - 한국과 일본을 중심으로 - (A Comparative Study on Cooperative Reference Service: Centering on Korea and Japan)

  • 이용자의 무관심, 대체할 수 있는 인터넷 컨텐츠의 급증으로 국내 협력형 참고봉사 서비스는 정체 상태에 빠져 있다. 특히 이용자가 스스로 탐색하여 획득 가능한 인터넷 컨텐츠의 급증은 전통적 질의-응답 방식의 참고봉사 서비스의 기능과 본질에 대한 재검토와 더불어, 신뢰할 수 있는 지식베이스의 구축이라는 참고봉사의 간접서비스 영역에 대한 중요성을 새롭게 조명하고 있다. 본 연구는 간접서비스 위주의 협력을 추구하는 있는 일본 도서관들의 협력형 참고봉사 서비스를 심층 조사하고 이를 비교 분석하여, 한국의 협력형 참고봉사 서비스의 새로운 도약 가능성을 조망해 본다.

정보전문가의 교수활동지원을 위한 참고정보서비스 실태 분석 - 사서교사의 참고정보서비스를 중심으로 - (An Analysis on Reference Information Service of Teacher Librarians to Instruction in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 정보전문가의 교수활동 지원을 위한 참고정보서비스 실태를 사서교사의 참고정보서비스 참여를 중심으로 분석하기 위해 수행되었다. 조사방법은 전국사서교사협의회 회원교(212개)와 전국에서 계약직 사서가 가장 많이 배치된 경기도의 2개 도시 학교도서관(115개) 사서전수(327명)를 대상으로 2006년 12월 1일부터 12월 31일까지 31일간 3차에 걸쳐 데이터를 수집하였으며, 총 254개(회수율 77.7%)의 질문지가 분석에 사용되었다. 그 결과 사서교사와 사서들은 독립변인(성별, 학교급. 근무경력, 고용구분)에 따라 교수활동지원을 위한 참고정보서비스 참여도에 차이가 있었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 이 같은 문제를 해결하는 방안으로 문헌정보학 교과과정과 직무연수 등을 통해 교수활동 지원을 위한 참고정보서비스 교육을 강화할 것과 교수활동에 사서교사와 사서가 참여하여 참고정보서비스를 강화할 수 있는 제도적 장치를 마련할 것 등을 제언하였다.
