디젤기관의 대체연료로서 미장유의 특성 연구(II) (A Study on Characteristics of Rice Bran Oil as an Alternative Fuel in Diesel Engine(II))

  • In this study, it was tried to analyze not only total hydrocarbon but individual hydrocarbon components from C$_1$to C$\sub$6/ in exhaust gas using gas chromatography to seek the reason fur remarkable differences of smoke emission of diesel fuel, esterfied rice bran oil and blended fuel(esterfied rice bran oil 20vo1-% + diesel fuel 80vo1-%). Individual hydrocarbons(C$_1$ ∼C$\sub$6/) as well as total hydrocarbon of esterfied rice bran oil is reduced remarkably compared with diesel fuel. Although smoke emission of esterfied rice bran oil reduced remarkably compared with commercial diesel fuel, NOx emission of esterfied rice bran oil and blended fuel was increased slightly at high loads and speeds. And, it was tried to reduced NOx emission of them by exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) method. Simultaneous reduction of smoke and NOx emission was achieved with the combination of esterfied rice bran oil and EGR method in consequence.

  • Our environment is faced with serious problems related to the air pollution from automobiles in these days. In particular, the exhaust emissions from diesel engine are recognized main cause which influenced environment strong. In this study, the potential possibility of biodiesel fuel and oxygenates additives (dimethoxy methane) was investigated as an alternative fuel for a naturally aspirated direct injection diesel engine. The smoke emission of blending fuel (biodiesel fuel 90vol-% + DMM 10vol-%) was reduced in comparison with diesel fuel, that is, it was reduced approximately 70% at 2500 rpm, full load. But, power, torque and brake specific energy consumption didn't have no large differences. But, NOx emissions from biodiesel fuel and DMM blended fuel were increased compared with commercial diesel fuel.

  • Our environment is faced with serious problems related to the air pollution from automobiles in these days. In particular, the exhaust emissions from the diesel engines are recognized as main cause which has a great influence on environment. In this study, the potential of biodiesel fuel and oxygenated fuel(ethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether; EGBE) was investigated as an effective method of decreasing the smoke emission. The smoke emission of blending fuel(EGBE 0~20 vol-%) was reduced in comparison with diesel fuel and it was reduced approximately 64% at 2000 rpm, full load in the 20% of blending rate. On the contrary NOx emissions from biodiesel fuel and EGBE blended fuel were increased compared with diesel fuel. Torque and brake specific energy consumption(BSEC) didn't have large differences.

  • In this study, the exhaust characteristics of the diesel engine for the change of the mixing ratio of biodiesel fuel were quantitatively analyzed by using the numerical analysis method. As the fuel used in the experiment, the diesel and biodiesel(waste oil, soybean oil), the mixed fuel BD2(Diesel only), BD3, BD5, BD20, BD50 and BD100 were used. The injection pressure($p_{inj}$) was set to 400bar, 600bar, 800bar, 1000bar and 1200bar as the experimental variable. Also the concept of the standard deviation, Pearson's correlation coefficient and Spearman rank-order correlation coefficient based on the statistics was introduced in order to analyze the exhaust characteristics of the quantitative NOx and Soot according to the injection pressure and the mixing ratio variation of biodiesel blending fuel. It is considered that as a result of studies, for the waste oil, NOx and Soot can be simultaneously reduced through control of the mixing ratio at the regions of $p_{inj}=400bar$ and $p_{inj}=600bar$, and the Soot can be reduced without affecting on the emission of NOx at more than $p_{inj}=800bar$. For the soybean oil, NOx and Soot can be simultaneously reduced at $p_{inj}=400bar$ and the Soot can be reduced without affecting on the emission of NOx at $p_{inj}=600bar$.

  • In this study, the potential possibility of oxygenates on di-ether group (DBE, dibutyl ether) was investigated as an additives for an agricultural direct injection diesel engine. It tested to estimate change of engine performance and exhaust emission characteristics for the commercial diesel fuel and oxygenates additives blending fuel which has four kinds of mixed ratio. The smoke emission of blending fuel (diesel fuel 80 vol-% + DBE 20 vol-%) was reduced in comparison with diesel fuel, that is, it was reduced approximately 26% at 2500 rpm, full load. And, power, torque and brake specific energy consumption didn't have large differences. But, NOx emission of blended fuel was increased compared with commercial diesel fuel.

  • In this study, the potential possibility of biodiesel fuel was investigated as an alternative fuel for a naturally aspirated indirect injection diesel engine. The smoke emission of biodiesel fuel was reduced remarkably in comparison with diesel fuel, that is, it was reduced approximately 36% at 2000rpm, full load condition. And, power, torque and brake specific energy consumption showed no significant differences. However, NOx emission of biodiesel fuel was increased compared with commercial diesel fuel. Also, the effects of exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) to reduce the NOx emission has been investigated. It was found that simultaneous reduction of smoke and NOx was achieved with biodiesel fuel(20vol-%) and cooled EGR method$(10{\sim}15%)$.

  • 화석연료로부터 기인한 환경오염에 대한 대응과 더불어 신재생에너지 공급의무화제도의 시행은 재생연료유 등 신재생에너지의 활용도를 증대시켰다. 부생연료유(2호)와 정제연료유(감압)는 국내 법령으로 엄격히 규제되고 있으며, 부생연료유(2호)를 혼합한 정제연료유(감압)의 물성변화를 시험하였다. 부생연료유(2호)를 1 : 1로 혼합한 정제연료유(감압)의 물성분석 결과, 국내 폐기물관리법에서 규정하고 있는 품질기준을 만족하였다. 다만, 연료와 관련한 추가항목 시험결과에서 높은 방향족 함량을 나타내었다. 연료 내 높은 방향족 함량은 사용기기의 고무류 파손이나 연소 시 그을음, 매연 등이 발생할 가능성이 높을 것으로 보인다.

  • This paper investigates the effect of oxygen composition in mixed fuel on the exhaust emissions for the direct injection diesel engine. These effects were tested to estimate the change in engine performance and exhaust emission characteristics when commercial diesel fuel and oxygenates blended fuels at a certain fuel and mixed ratio are used. Individual hydrocarbons $(C_1-C_6)$ in exhaust gases, as well as the total amount of hydrocarbons, were analyzed by using gas chromatography to find the mechanism by which smoke emission was remarkably reduced for various oxygenated fuels. The chromatograms between a diesel fuel and a diesel fuel blended DGM (diethylene glycol dimethyl ether), MTBE (methyl tert-butyl ether) and EGBE (ethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether) were compared. The results showed that the number of individual hydrocarbons as well as the total number of hydrocarbons of oxygenated fuel reduced more remarkably than those of diesel fuel.

  • The present study describes the characteristics of combustion and exhaust emissions in compression ignition engines using diesel-gasoline dual fuel. For investigating combustion characteristics, diesel fuel was injected directly in a single-cylinder compression ignition engine with a common-rail injection system and gasoline fuel was injected into a premixed chamber installed in an intake port. In order to investigate exhaust emission characteristics, exhaust gas was measured by emission analyzer and smoke meter. The experimental results showed that cases of diesel-gasoline dual fuel combustion exhibited extended ignition delay and reduced peak combustion pressure compared to those of directly injected diesel fuel cases. Furthermore, premixed gasoline-air mixture reduced NOx emissions due to low peak of rate of heat release(ROHR).

But, power, torque and brake specific energy consumption didn't have no large differences. But, NOx emission of biodiesel fuel was increased compared with commercial diesel fuel.
