PIV를 이용한 액체램제트 연소기내의 3차원 유동특성 연구 (Investigations of Three Dimensional Flow Characteristics in the Liquid Ramjet Combustor using PIV Method)

  • Three dimensional flow characteristics in a liquid fuel ramjet combustor are investigated using PIV method. The combustors have two rectangular inlets that form 90 degree each other. Three guide vane is installed in each rectangular inlet to improve the flow stability. We made three cases of test combustors in which those inlet angles are 30 degree, 45 degree and 60 degree. Each combustor easily changes the size of combustor's recirculation zone with the replacement of combustors dome. The experiments are performed in the water tunnel test with the same Reynolds number in the case of Mach 0.3 at inlet. PIV software is developed to measure the flow field in the combustor and the accuracy of developed PIV program is verified with rotating disk experiment and standard data. The experimental results show that the two main streams from rectangular inlet collide near the plane of symmetry and generate two large longitudinal vortex, A large and complex three-dimensional recirculating flow is measured in the recirculation zone.

  • 사각 스월 연소기의 냉각 유동에 의한 비반응 난류 유동 특성을 파악하기 위하여 3차원 Large Eddy Simulation(LES)을 수행하였고, 후처리 기법으로 Proper Orthogonal Decomposition(POD) 분석을 이용하였다. 해석에 이용된 연소기 모델은 GEAE사의 LM6000 연소기이다. 냉각 유동의 유입시 전단층(shear layer)의 속도 증가로 인해 중심 재순환 영역의 와류 강도는 강해진 반면 코너 재순환 영역의 와류 강도는 약해진 것을 관찰하였다. 또한 연소실 내 압력변동 폭이 감소하였으며, longitudinal acoustic mode의 감쇠가 두드러지게 나타난 것을 확인하였다.

  • Flow characteristics at secondary recirculation zone in a liquid fuel ramjet combustor were investigated using CFD and Stereoscopic PIV method. The combustors have two rectangular inlets that form 90 degree each other. Three guide vanes were installed in each rectangular inlet to improve the flow stability. The tested angle of the air intakes was 60 degree. The experiments were performed in the water tunnel test with the same Reynolds number in the case of Mach 0.3 at inlet. The computational and experimental results showed that the secondary recirculation flow occurred at the front junction of inlet main stream and combustor chamber. The size of secondary recirculation regions are increased with approaching closer to the center of the combustor. Since the performance of combustor is closely dependent not only on the main recirculation in the dome region but also on the secondary recirculation flow in a junction region, the optimal angle of the air intakes should be considered the recirculation size as frame holder.

바이오가스 적용 캐비티 매트릭스 연소기 CFD 수치연산 (CFD Numerical Calcultion for a Cavity Matrix Combustor Applying Biogas)

  • With the advancement of industry, the use of various sustainable energy sources and solutions to problems affecting the environment are being actively requested. From this point of view, it is intended to directly burn unused biogas to use it as energy and to solve environmental problems such as greenhouse gases. In this study, a new type of cavity matrix combustor capable of low-emission complete combustion without complex facilities such as separation or purification of biogas produced in small and medium-sized facilities was proposed, and CFD numerical calculation was performed to understand the performance characteristics of this combustor. The cavity matrix combustor consists of a burner with a rectangular porous microwave receptor at the center inside a 3D cavity that maintains a rectangular parallelepiped shape composed of a porous plate that can store heat in the combustor chamber. As a result of numerical calculation, the biogas supplied to the inlet of the combustor is converted to CO and H2, which are intermediate products, on the surface of the 3D matrix porous burner. And then the optimal combustion process was achieved through complete combustion into CO2 and H2O due to increased combustibility by receiving heat energy from the microwave heating receptor.

캐비티가 존재한 사각 단면 분류층 연소실내에서 2상류의 유체역학적 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Hydrodynamic Behaviours of Two Phase Flow in Rectangular Entrained Flow Combustor with Cavity)

  • 본 연구에서는 미분탄과 공기를 혼합하여 노즐을 통하여 바닥면에 캐비티가 존재한 사각단면 분류층 연소실로 분사 시킬 때에 분사된 혼합유동의 평균속도,농도 및 난류특성치들의 유체역학적 거동을 3차원 측정이 가능한 PDA를 이용하여 실험적으로 규명하였다. 바닥면의 재부착점은 X/D=15인 부근에서 나타나며, 재부착점 이후에서 부터 각 단면의 상사성이 이루어지는 것으로 나타났다. 사각 연소실 바닥면 관통의 영향을 받아 난류강도와 난류전단용력의 최대값은 중심축보다 높은 Y/D=6인 점에서 최대가 되며, 미분탄의 농도는 Y/D=6~8인 점에서 최대값이 나타났다.

  • Three-dimensional flow characteristics in a liquid fuel ramjet combustor were investigated using the PIV method. The combustor has two rectangular inlets that loin a 90-degree angle each other. Three cases of test combustors are made in which those inlet angles are 30 degree, 45degree and 60 degree. The experiments were performed in a water tunnel test with the same Reynolds number as Mach 0.3 at the inlet. PIV software was developed to measure the characteristics of the flow field in the combustor. Accuracy of the developed PIV program was verified with a rotating disk experiment and standard data. The characteristics of the internal flows of the combustor are large swirling flows which appear symmetric with respect to the symmetric section. This is attributed to the fact that the flows introduced from the right and left intakes collide with each other, thus forming symmetrically large vortices. A large and complex three-dimensional recirculating flow was measured behind the intakes. An inlet angle of 30 degrees is the most suitable angle as a frame he]der in the performed experimental ranges.

  • With a view to estimating the effect of flows on evolving sprays and combustion in ramjet combustor and corresponding extent of combustion, ram air flows in combustion chamber is numerically experimented. Preconditioned three dimensional Navier-Stokes system of equations per transient, compressible, turbulent flows in IRR(Integral Rocket Ramjet) combustor is numerically integrated. Flow properties in the side-dump ramjet combustor, rectangular duct with two 60-deg curved inlets located radially at an angle of 180-deg, are addressed in terms of mixing quality and extent of combustion efficiency.

  • PIV 방법을 이용하여 액체 램제트 연소실 내부의 유동 특성을 측정하였다. 연소기는 2개의 사각 단면의 유입구가 90도의 각도를 가지고 있으며, 유입각이 $30^{\circ},\;45^{\circ},\;60^{\circ}$의 3가지 경우를 연소실 실험 모형으로 제작하였다. 실험은 유입구에서의 속도가 마하 0.3의 경우로 레이놀즈 상사를 적용하여 수조에서 실험을 수행하였다. PIV 프로그램은 자체 개발하였다. 4가지의 돔 크기에 대하여 돔에서 생성되는 복잡한 1차 재순환 유동을 측정하였다. 실험한 범위에서 돔의 크기는 연소실 직경의 1/3정도가 적당한 것으로 판단되며 유입각은 작을수록 재순환 영역이 커짐을 알 수 있으나 최적의 연소기 형상은 2차 재순환 영역과 함께 고려되어야 한다.
