  • This study is phenomenological qualitative research about lived experience of recovering alcoholic homeless who had completed Therapeutic Community program. The meaning which is revealed through this study is as in the followed. First, Moving to recovering space. In Therapeutic Community, they have a turning point for new life and new connection with people who watch him carefully. Second, Physical recovery. They are no more lying down on the street. Analogy of Standing can be viewed as being most active in recovery. Third, Positioning on time flow. The recovering of time is represented by accepting past and present as well as looking ahead into the future. Fourth, Settling into network of a relation. They tried to reconnect with society by network of a relation. Their social place is located in a network, not a position. From this present study, the social work implications for the alcoholic homeless are deducted.

  • This paper is concerned with a computational method for recovering a crack shape of steam generator tubes of nuclear plants. Problems on the shape identification are discussed arising in the characterization of a structural defect in a conductor using data of eddy current inspection. A surface defect on the generator tube ran be detected as a probe impedance trajectory by scanning a pancake type coil. First, a mathematical model of the inspection process is derived from the Maxwell's equation. Second, the input and output relation is given by the approximate model by virtue of the hybrid use of the finite element and boundary element method. In that model, the crack shape is characterized by the unknown coefficients of the B-spline function which approximates the crack shape geometry. Finally, a parameter estimation technique is proposed for recovering the crack shape using data from the probe coil. The computational experiments were successfully tested with the laboratory data.

  • With the fast growth of shipbuilding industry, in recent years several hundreds of thousands of lifting lugs for a year have been used. This paper is aimed at maximizing the recovering use of lifting lugs. In this study, we have evaluated the structural strength for present and modified lifting lugs under in-plane and out-of-plane load conditions. For this purpose, the equivalent stresses have been calculated by nonlinear elasto-plastic analysis using the finite element program ABAQUS. At the same time, the contact conditions between lifting lug and shackle pin are also considered.

  • In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for recovering the broken letters of relics into an original form by using Z-map and image processing. The letters of relics may have been broken by a lot of rubbed copy and a long time and tide. They need to be restored. But the manual reconstruction is a very tedious and laborious task. Thus, it is necessary to automate the restoration process. This paper presents a realistic algorithm with an application to Tripitaka Koreana by using Z-map and morphological filter.

  • The acceleration information is significant for the structural health monitoring, which is the basic measurement to identify structural dynamic characteristics and structural vibration. The efficiency of the accelerometer is subsequently important for the structural health monitoring. In this paper, the distance measure matrix and the support level matrix are constructed firstly and the synthesized support level and the fusion method are given subsequently. Furthermore, the synthesized support level can be served as the determination for diagnosis on accelerometers, while the consensus data fusion method can be used to recover the acceleration information in frequency domain. The acceleration acquisition measurements from the accelerometers located on the real structure National Aquatics Center are used to be the basic simulation data here. By calculating two groups of accelerometers, the validation and stability of diagnosis and recovering on acceleration based on the data fusion are proofed in the paper.

  • We propose expert system for restoration the original character form of ancient relics based on image processing and computer graphics. Letters engraved in relief like relics and intaglio like curved tombstones and letters engraved in plane or curved part of cultural asset may have been broken by a lot of rubbed copy, a long time and tide. In this paper, we suggest a new method for extracting and recovering the broken letters of cultural asset into an original form by using Z-map, morphological filter, and high frequency filter. Based on the suggested method. we develop the character recovering system.

  • Given a noisy sampled at equispaced points with white noise, we consider problems where the signal to be recovered is known to be positive; for example, images, chemical spectra or other measurements of intensities. Shrinking noisy wavelet coefficients via thresholding offers very attractive alternatives to existing methods of recovering signals from noisy data. In this paper, we propose a method of recovering the original signal from a corrupted noisy signal, guaranteeing the recovered signal positive. We first obtain wavelet coefficients by thresholding, and use a nonlinear optimization to find the denoised signal which must be positive. Numerical examples are used to illustrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.

  • The photoelastic model material with shape memory effect and the molding processes for the material are developed in this research. The matrix and fiber of the photoelastic model material developed in this research are epoxy resin (Araldite to hardner 10 to 3 (weight ratio)) and wire of $Ti_50-Ni_50$ shape memory alloy, respectively. It is called Ti50-Ni50 Shape Memory Alloy Fiber Epoxy Composite $(Ti_50-Ni_50SMA-FEC).$ Ti50-Ni50 SMA-FEC is satisfied with the requirements of the photoelastic model material and can be used as a photoelastic model material. The maximum recovering strain of $Ti_50-Ni_50$SMA-FEC is occurred at $80^{\circ}C$ in any prestrain of $Ti_50-Ni_50$ shape memory alloy fiber and in any fiber volume ratio. Recovering strain(force) is increased with the increment of the prestrain and the fiber volume ratio. The best prestrain of $Ti_50-Ni_50$SMA-FEC is 5% for the recovering force among 1%, 3%, 5%.

  • The existing multiple modulus-based self-recovering equalization type has not been applied to initial equalization. Instead, it was used for steady-state performance improvement. In this paper, for the self-recovering equalization type that considers the multiple modulus as a desired response, the initial convergence performance was improved by extending the dynamics of the errors using error boosting and their characteristics were analyzed. Error boosting in the proposed method was carried out in proportion to a symbol decision for the equalizer output. Furthermore, having the initial convergence capability by extending the dynamics of errors, it showed excellent performance in the initial convergence rate and steady-state error level. In particular, the proposed method can be applied to the entire process of equalization through a single algorithm; the existing methods of switching over or the selection of other operation modes, such as concurrent operating with other algorithms, are not necessary. The usefulness of the proposed method was verified by simulations performed under the channel conditions with multipath propagation and additional noise, and for performance analysis of self-recovering equalization for high-order signal constellations.
