북미의 인터랙티브 케이블방송 규격인 OCAP(OpenCable Application Platform)은 OCAP DPI(Digital Program Insertion) 라는 명칭의 클라이언트 기반 광고 삽입 방식에 대한 북미 일부 지역에서의 시험 방송의 성공한 후 관련 규격을 OCAP1.1-I01 에 발표하기에 이르렀다.
The digitalization of a broadcast has caused the oversupply of the contents in order to fit the user's needs for various broadcast services. The massive contents could not help demanding one-sided watching without considering a taste and preference of a user. This situation is enlarging the demand about the personalized broadcast service to enable user to watch broadcast contents in anytime according to surplus provision of broadcast contents. TV-Anytime standard could be a solution for broadcast service to enable users to watch personalized broadcast contents according to their preference. The paper proposes the personalized broadcasting system for authoring, receiving and transmission of TV-Anytime metadata, the detailed information about the broadcast contents so that user could efficiently search a large of broadcast contents stored in the PDR(Personal Digital Recorder)receiver under the DCATV(Digital Cable Television) environment.
VOD(Video On Demand) that provides streaming service according to the user's requirement in real time, consists of the video streaming server and the client system. Since it is very hard to apply the traditional server-client model that a server communicates with many clients through 1:1 connection to VOD system because it requires very high network bandwidth, many researches have been done to address this problem. Batching technique is one of VOD system based on Multicast that requires very small network bandwidth. However, the batching based VOD system has a limitation that it is very hard to provide VCR(Video Cassette Recorder) ability. In this paper, we propose a technique that reduces the required network bandwidth to provide VCR function by using the characteristic of MPEG, one of international video compression standard. In the proposed technique, a new video stream for VCR function is constructed with I pictures that is able to be decoded independently. The new video stream for VCR function is transmitted with the video stream for normal play together in Batching manner. The performance evaluation result shows that the proposed technique not only reduces the required network bandwidth and memory usage but also decreases the CPU usages.

The purpose of VDR capsule is to maintain a stored information securely and retrievably in the extreme environment like voyage incident. This study shows the modellings, the analyses and the experiments of the survivability test of penetration, high and low temperature fire. The capsule housing is used to protect capsule against penetration and the influences of its thickness are studied by the modelling and analysis of penetration using LS-DYNA. The phase change material and thermal insulation material are used to protect capsule against high and low temperature fire test. The thermal characteristics of various volume ratios of phase change material to thermal insulation material were conducted. Also the tests were conducted to confirm the structural and thermal reliability.
In this paper, we propose a system that can analyze appearance interval of casts by detecting and recognizing casts in broadcasting videos. The cast is one of the most important characteristics in broadcasting videos such as drama and sports. In this paper, we propose the ACAV(Automatic Cast-list Analysis in Videos) system that analyzes cast-list automatically in video. The ACAV system consists of FAGIS(FAce reGIStration) which registers detected faces into the face DB and FACOG(FAce reCOGnition) that analyses the cast-list in video sequence using the face DB. We evaluate performance of the ACAV system by comparing with FaceIt, one of the most well-known commercial systems for the cast-list analysis. The ACAV shows face detection and recognition rates of 84.3% and 75.7% that are about 30% and 27.5% higher than those of FaceIt, respectively. The ACAV system can be applied to mass broadcasting videos management system for broadcasters and video management system of PVR(Personal Video Recorder) and mobile phone for the public.

It is most important to understand the behaviour of fish in case of the betterment of the current fishing gear and methods or the development of the conditioning by acoustic sound in marine ranching. This investigation has been attempted to provide for the prediction of the response action of fish to acoustic sound. The experimental fish was conditioned with sound and bait. As the acoustic sound for stimulus, the pure tone of sine waveform at the frequency of 200Hz was used. This pure tone was determined from previous investigation about hearing ability of walleye pollock Theragra chalcogramma. The fork length of walleye pollock used in this experiment was 385~450mm. The conditioning proceeding was recorded in the video tape recorder. Frequency of appearance in the feeding area was analyzed with computer and video tape recorder. The position of fish was tracked using the mouse cursor and picture mixed on the superimpose board. The response of conditioned fish to sound stimulus was appeared in the 8th day firstly. The conditioned fish remembered the stimulus sound for 4 days. Average frequency of appearance in the feeding area during the 30 seconds sound projection or 1 minute after the sound stimulus was 51%, and was higher than before it.
The tube formation assay is a widely used in vitro experiment model to evaluate angiogenic properties by measuring the formation of tubular structures from vascular endothelial cells (ECs). In vitro experimental results are crucial when considered the advisability of moving forward to in vivo studies. Thus, the additional attentions to the in vitro assay is necessary to improve the quality of the pre-clinical data, leading to better decision-making for successful drug discovery. In this study, we improved the tube formation assay system in three aspects. First, we used human endothelial colony forming cells (ECFCs), which are endothelial precursors that have a robust proliferative capacity and more defined angiogenic characteristics compared to mature ECs. Second, we utilized a real-time cell recorder to track the progression of tube formation for 48 hours. Third, to minimize analysis error due to the limited observation area, we used image-stitching software to increase the microscope field of view to a $2{\times}2$ stitched area from the $4{\times}$ object lens. Our advanced tube formation assay system successfully demonstrated the time-dependent dynamic progression of tube formation in the presence and absence of VEGF and FGF-2. Vatalanib, VEGF inhibitor, was tested by our assay system. Of note, $IC_{50}$ values of vatalanib was different at each observation time point. Collectively, these results indicate that our advanced tube formation assay system replicates the dynamic progression of tube formation in response to angiogenic modulators. Therefore, this new system provides a sensitive and versatile assay model for evaluating pro- or anti-angiogenic drugs.

Network Video Recorder becomes popular as a next generation surveillance system connecting all cameras and video server in network environment because it can provide ease of installation and efficient management and maintenance. But in case of data damage, the storage device in traditional NVR has no recovery scheme and it is disabled in processing real-time requests. In this paper, we propose an Reliable Storage using Parity and Mirroring scheme for improving reliability on storage device and maintaining system on realtime. RSPM uses a Liberation coding to recover damaged multimedia data and dynamic mirroring to repair corrupted system data and to maintain real-time operation. RSPM using the Liberation code is 11.29% lesser than traditional file system and 5.21% less than RSPM using parity code in terms of loss rate of damaged multimedia data.
This study is a research development case study on the free-standing Network based camera video recording DVR. The DVR devices till now have recorded data by converting and compressing analogue video to digital, but in the future, digital videos will be recorded directly through the network camera. Also, digital compressing methods are progressing from MPEG-4, MJPEG, to H.264 method, with products considering high definition compression efficiency, minimized data size, network compatibility, and fast pending time. According to this, in 2012, it is predicted that network camera and video devices throughout the world will outrun the current analogue devices. With this transition of technological environment and fast product pending speed, a new, quality focused design is required for product development including technical realization, reliability, high-definition, compression technology, will be essential. Manufacturers are researching a new direction for the product appearance. This study considers the actual end-users as the design target and through consumer survey on preferences, design needs and required elements necessary in the design development process are extracted. Furthermore, usability and preferred images were explored through literature study and market research. Through this research process, appropriate forms for the network based DVR were analyzed, and applied into the design development process. This product will take into consideration its competitiveness and the significance of USP(Unique Selling Proposition) which is the design supremacy and professional technical skills.
Usage of EDR(Event Data Recorder) report for traffic accident analysis is currently increasing due to government regulation of EDR data release. Nevertheless, a lot of investigators simply adopt by comparing the number of ignition cycles(crash) at event to the number of ignition cycles(download) without an exact judgment whether event data occurred by this accident or not. In the EDR report, besides ignition cycles, there are many factors such as event record type, algorithm active(rear/rollover/side/frontal), time between events, event severity status(rollover/rear/right side/reft side/frontal), belt switch circuit status, driver/passenger pretensioner/air-bag deployment, PDOF(Principal Direction of Force) by ΔV to be able to decide whether or not to adopt. also the event data is considered enough to vehicle damaged state, accident situation at the scene of the accident. and there is described in "all data should be examined in conjunction with other available physical evidence from the vehicle and scene" in the CDR(Crash Data Retrieval) report. Therefore many investigators have to decide whether or not to adopt after they consider sufficiently to above factors when they are the traffic accident analysis and investigate the causes of a accident on the adopted event data. In this paper, we report to traffic accident investigators notable points and analysis methods on the basis of thousands of cases and the results of one's own experiment in NFS(National Forensic Service).
