Two specimens of Chlorophthalmus nigromarginatus Kamohara, 1953 (51.02 mm, 66.04 mm in standard length) belonging to the family Chlorophthalmidae were collected on February 8, 2022 in the eastern Jeju-do Island, Korea using a bottom trawl. The species has the following morphological characteristics: snout length almost the same as orbit diameter, bump absent on predorsal, caudal fin with posterior black margin. C. nigromarginatus is morphologically very similar to C. acutifrons but can be distinguished by caudal fin with black margin (C. acutifrons has no black margin). Molecular analyses showed that our specimens almost matched with C. nigromarginatus according to mtDNA 16S rRNA sequences (99.8%). Therefore, we propose a new Korean name for C. nigromarginatus, "Geom-eun-kko-ri-pa-rang-nun-mae-tung-i".

Kushia zosteraphila Harris V.A. & Iwasaki, 1996 is newly collected and described from macroalgae in the intertidal region of Gijang-gun, along the southeastern coastal region of Korea. Kushia zosteraphila can be distinguished from congeners by following morphological characteristics: the length of the first dorsal seta similar with the second dorsal seta of female P5, the length to width ratio of the female caudal ramus, and the presence of a conspicuous comb on the accessory lobe of the male antennule. Although there are some minor discrepancies, the main diagnostic characteristics of the specimen from the study area are well-matched with the original description. We herein provide detailed morphological descriptions and illustrations of this species. According to a survey of the location of the reported porcellidiid species in Korea, this specimen is the second record in Korean waters of the genus Kushia. A key to species of the family Porcellidiidae in Korea is provided. A partial sequence of the mitochondrial COI gene was obtained and provided as a DNA barcode for this species.

Objectives : This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of fixed critical pathway with emr (electronic medical record) on the length of hospital stay, the cost and quality of care provided to gastrectomy patients in a university hospital and to develop flexible critical pathway with emr which can be used excluded or drop-out patients. Methods : Thirty-eight patients with gastrectomy were included as case group and Thirty-four patients included as control group. The comparison between control and case with using fixed critical pathway were done. To develop and to evaluate usefulness of flexible critical pathway with flexible data base, simulation was done for flexible critical pathway with drop-out patients. Result : The major results of this study were as follows: There were no significant differences in patient clinical conditions and no sign of deterioration of quality from critical pathway. The length of hospital stay was 11 days in control group, 8 days in path group(P<0.01). The total costs during the hospital stay were reduced in path group. However the cost per day was significantly increased from reduction of hospital stay(554,352 won in control, 645,669 won in path group). One hundred percentage of drop out patients(60) in the simulation of flexible critical pathway was successful. Conclusion : Computerized critical pathway reduced the length of hospital stay, total hospital costs and resource utilization without harming quality of patient care. The flexible critical pathway program can be used as one of the powerful management tools for reducing the practice variations and increasing the efficiency of care process and decreasing the workload of doctors and nurses in Korean hospital settings.

본 연구는 Sprinter/Skater pattern을 이용한 12주 균형훈련 프로그램이 양궁선수들의 자세조절 및 슈팅기록에 미치는 영향을 규명하여 양궁선수 훈련 및 지도에 도움을 줄 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하는 테 있다. 여자 양궁선수 12명(대조군 6명, 실험군 6명)을 대상으로 동적균형측정장치(active balancer system)를 이용하여 측정하였으며 집단 간 차이를 검정한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. Sprinter/Skater pattern에 의한 12주 균형훈련이 흔들림의 총궤적 길이를 감소시켰으며, 균형중심의 x축, y축의 흔들림을 줄여 정적 균형능력을 향상시켰다. 2. Sprinter/Skater pattern에 의한 12주 균형훈련이 Sprinter자세와 Skater자세에서의 흔들림의 총궤적 길이를 감소시켰으며, 동적 균형능력을 향상시켰다. 3. Sprinter/Skater pattern에 의한 12주 균형훈련이 균형중심의 x축, y축의 흔들림을 줄여 슈팅시 균형능력을 향상시켰다.

The remarkable fact regarding the History of Chosun Dynasty(from Jungjong- Youngjo) is that any slightest evidence can't be found that Pobeckchuck was used to measure clothes or various Pobecks. There remains the document that in the 22nd years of Myeonjong, Japan required that Pobeckchuck be used, but it couldn't be allowed because of the reason it was made in the former king. This fact raises the high possibility that Pobeckchuck could be the most trustworthy standardized ruler at that time, and in other point of view, it can be presumed that the measurement in the period of King Sejong continued to have been used until this time. It can be seen that the length of one Chuck of Pobeckchuck at this time must have been equivalent to 46. 73cm of Pobeckchuck of Samchuck in the period of Sejong. In the History of Sunjo Period, many records on Pobeckchuck can be found, which fact seemed to have rectified the measurement system which was disordered by military revolt, though the reason is not clear. Also a record can be found that in the period of Sunjo, Chinese envoy required the Sunjo Regime to use Pobeckchuck for the measurement of copper pillar, which record supports the fact that Pobeckchuck is the standardized ruler. Another record that in the 26th period of Youngjo, Pobeckchuck of Samchuck was corrected according to the Kyeongkukdaejeon shows that the length of Pobeckchuck was 46.80cm at that time. Also, the record which rectified many rulers with the comparison of Hwangjong-chuck, Ju-chuck, Joryeki-chuck, Yongjo-chuck, etc. with one another reveals that the rulers used in the period of Sejong continued to have been used unchanged until in the period of Youngjo.

First record of a stranded Melon-headed whale (Peponocephala electra) on the south-east coast of Korea was described. Full body and skull measurements were taken from the specimen. It was identified as P. electra by unique pointed flipper tips. Skull measurements of the specimen corresponded to condylobasal length proportions given in the previous descriptions of the holotype.

1997년 10월 경상북도 울릉군 독도연안에서 한국미기록 어종인 동갈돔과 (Apogonidae)의 Apogon cookii 2개체를 채집하였다. 이 종은 줄동갈돔 (A. endekataenia)과 유사하나 체측의 암갈색 세로띠의 수가 5개이며 꼬리지느러미 기부에 눈의 동공크기의 둥근 흑색반점이 있는 점으로 구별된다. 이 종의 신한국명은 "다섯줄얼게비늘"이라 명명하였다.

A single specimen (134.3 mm standard length) of a snailfish, Careproctus notosaikaiensis was collected from a fish trap in Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do, East Sea, Korea. It is characterized by having the teeth strongly trilobed; dorsal fin rays 52; anal fin rays 47; pectoral fin rays 35; caudal fin rays 10; vertebrae 58; ribs 2 pairs; cephalic pores, 2-6-7-2; gill slit extending to the fifth pectoral fin ray; chin pores paired and equal in size; dorsal and anal fins with distinct reddish margins. We describe this species as the first record to Korea, and proposed the new Korean name, "Dong-hae-bun-hong-ggom-chi" for this species.

Psenes arafurensis, belonging to the family Nomeidae, is described based on four specimens (184.8-199.0 mm in standard length) collected from Korea. The species is most similar to the congeneric species P. maculatus and P. pellucidus, but differs from them in the number of lateral-line scales. (44-47 in P. arafurensis vs 67-70 in P. maculatus and 120 in P. pellucidus) and the number of vertebrae (31 in P. arafurensis vs 34-38 in P. maculatus and 40-42 in P. pellucidus). The present study is a new record of P. arafurensis with voucher specimens from Korean waters.

The Fraser's dolphin, Lagenodelphis hosei has a pantropical distribution. Only several stranding or catch data were available from Japan and Taiwan in the north-west Pacific region. An adult female L. hosei stranded in Jeju-do, Korea. The specimen was identified by external features and skull measurements. It showed the same external appearance ratio and range in the number of teeth with L. hosei former described. The cranial measurements also well corresponded to condylobasal length proportions given in the previous descriptions of the holotype. This is the first record of the species in Korean waters. We report the information on external and osteological characters of the specimen.
