전처리와 특징 추출이 CNN기반 화재 탐지 성능에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Preprocessing and Feature Extraction on CNN-based Fire Detection Performance)

  • 최근 들어 머신 러닝 기술의 발달로 기존 영상 기반의 응용시스템에 딥러닝 기술을 적용하는 사례들이 늘고 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 화재 감지 분야에서도 CNN (Convolutional Neural Network)을 적용하는 시도들이 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 전처리 방법과 특징 추출 방법이 CNN과 결합되었을 때 화재 탐지에 어떤 효과를 유발하는지를 검증하기 위해 인식 성능과 학습 시간을 평가해 보았다. VGG19 CNN 구조를 변경, 즉 컨볼루션층을 조금씩 늘리면서 실험을 진행한 결과, 일반적으로 전처리하지 않는 이미지를 사용한 경우가 성능이 훨씬 좋음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 성능적인 측면에서는 전처리 방법과 특징 추출 방법이 부정적인 영향을 미치지만 학습속도 측면에서는 많은 이득이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

동일 융성 상에 존재하는 특징점 간의 연결정보를 이용한 지문인식 (Fingerprint Recognition using Connected Ridge Information between Minutiae on the Same Ridger)

  • 본 논문은 지문의 특징점들이 융선으로 서로 연결되어진 구조 정보를 활용한 지문 매칭 알고리즘에 대해 연구하였다. 매칭에 이용한 특징은 분기점과 단점의 위치 및 분기점과 단점에서 융선의 진행 방향 등이다. 동일 융선 상에 존재하는 특징점들에 대한 연결정보를 추출하고, 이를 이용하여 원문지문과 입력지문간의 좌표 변환의 기준이 되는 특징점 쌍을 검출한다. 서로 일치하는 한 쌍의 특징을 이용해 입력지문을 이동 회전하여 원문지문과 일치시킨 후 각 특징들의 위치, 융선 방향이 일치하는 개수에 따라 지문의 동일여부를 판단하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 회전과 이동에 무관한 지문인식이 가능하다. 89명으로부터 얻은 445매의 지문영상에 대한 실험결과, 지문매칭의 처리속도가 31%향상되었다.

입 추적을 이용한 로봇 원격 제어 시스템 (Hands-free Robot Control System Using Mouth Tracking)

  • In this paper, we propose a robot remote control system based on mouth tracking. The main idea behind the work is to help disabled people who cannot operate a joystick or keyboard to control a robot with their hands. The mouth detection method in this paper is mainly based on the Adaboost feature detection approach. By using the proposed new Haar-like features for detecting the corner of mouth, the speed and accuracy of detection are improved. Combined with the Kalman filter, a continuous and accurate mouth tracking has been achieved. Meanwhile, the gripping commands of the robot manipulator were also achieved by the recognition of the user.s mouth shape, such as 'pout mouth' or 'grin mouth'. To assess the validity of the method, a mouth detection experiment and a robot cargo transport experiment were applied. The result indicated that the system can realize a quick and accurate mouse tracking; and the operation of the robot worked successfully in moving and bringing back items.

  • Worldwide, studies on intelligent vehicles for the convenience of drivers have been actively conducted as the number of cars has increased. However, vehicle convenience enabled by buttons lowers the concentration on driving and hence poses as a huge threat to the safety of the driver. The use of one of the convenient features, impaired driving auxiliary equipment, is limited because of its complex usage, and this device also hinders the front view of the driver. This paper proposes a vehicle-control device for controlling the convenient features as well as changes in speed and direction using gestures and motions of the driver. This device consists of an ultrasonic sensor for recognizing movement, an arduino for accepting signal control functions and servo and DC motors apply to various vehicle parts. Firstly, the vehicle-control device was designed using a 3D CAD program known as Solid-works based on the size of the steering wheel. Then, through simulations, a suitable length for minimizing the absorbent between ultrasonic sensors was confirmed using a program known as COMSOL Multiphysics. Finally, simulation results were verified through experiments, and the optimal size of the device was identified through the number of errors.

Baggage Recognition in Occluded Environment using Boosting Technique

  • Automatic Video Surveillance System (AVSS) has become important to computer vision researchers as crime has increased in the twenty-first century. As a new branch of AVSS, baggage detection has a wide area of security applications. Some of them are, detecting baggage in baggage restricted super shop, detecting unclaimed baggage in public space etc. However, in this paper, a detection & classification framework of baggage is proposed. Initially, background subtraction is performed instead of sliding window approach to speed up the system and HSI model is used to deal with different illumination conditions. Then, a model is introduced to overcome shadow effect. Then, occlusion of objects is detected using proposed mirroring algorithm to track individual objects. Extraction of rotational signal descriptor (SP-RSD-HOG) with support plane from Region of Interest (ROI) add rotation invariance nature in HOG. Finally, dynamic human body parameter setting approach enables the system to detect & classify single or multiple pieces of carried baggage even if some portions of human are absent. In baggage detection, a strong classifier is generated by boosting similarity measure based multi layer Support Vector Machine (SVM)s into HOG based SVM. This boosting technique has been used to deal with various texture patterns of baggage. Experimental results have discovered the system satisfactorily accurate and faster comparative to other alternatives.

900MHz 대역용 휴대용 RFID 리더 (Portable RFID Reader for 900MHz Band)

  • 본 논문에서는 UHF대역 중 900MHz 대역에서 동작하는 휴대용 RFID 리더를 설계하고 제작하여 그 제반 특성을 측정을 통하여 분석하였다. 측정 결과의 분석은 EPC Global에서 제안한 EPC Class 0 표준을 기준으로 수행되었다. 제안하는 RFID 리더는 약 11kbps의 속도로 태그와 데이터 통신을 수행하며, RF 최대 출력은 20dBm이다. 제안된 휴대용 RFID 리더는 초당 최대 68개의 태그를 인식할 수 있으며, 리더의 출력 전력이 20dBm인 경우 최대 인식 거리는 30cm 이다. 그리고 전체적인 크기는 $71mm{\times}55mm$로서 상용 제품과 비교했을 때 최대 90%, 최소 14% 감소된 것이다.

  • As an information-oriented era arrives, an environmental change of Internet marketing is going with high speed and such open door around the countries is providing worldwide companies with a new business opportunity. Now, Internet is a new communication tool for global network and is emerging as a new e-commerce market. Also, this trend is having an effect upon online site that sell crafts. Hence, this study aims to select artshop, which simultaneously operate off line and online while sell crafts, to research the present status, and analyze the problems to suggest the activation plans for effective Internet commerce. Accordingly, this study suggested six models for the settlement of these problem s and the activation plans as following: offer of the various works and the contents, security of price competition, reinforcement of marketing, establishment of brand recognition, management of customers and settlement of payment ways etc. The commerce of crafts in the artshop is only early stage today, but it is expected to grow into an universal connection way of information and buying which transcend space and to be briskly used for securing the competition of crafts in 21century.

  • Among the changes of the management environments surrounding enterprises, one of the most important reasons that affect the organization management in the future would be the rapid development in the field of information technology(IT). And every company takes the speed to be important to maintain the competitive superiority of its own especially. To meet this kind of circumstances, the expectations to reorganize the business processes using the IT become higher. The IT is worth when the companies manifest their own potential powers by taking advantage of the it and when they evolve and apply the novel ways to the business as well. Even though they, therefore, introduce the information system to realize their strategic superiorities, it is difficult to achieve their initial aims. Moreover, in the phase of IT introduction, it is necessary to include the property of alignment between the IT and the conventional management fields containing the management strategy and the organization planning. In the case the company revolution by IT is carried out, the two facts we should note to maintain the alignment between the management strategy and the target of organization are as follows. First. it is required to share the common and underlying recognition on the IT between the chief executive officers(CEOs) and the system part. Second. it is important to exchange information with other companies by utilizing the IT.

최대경사방향 트리를 이용한 삼각형요소화 곡면모델의 NC 엔드밀링가공에 관한 연구 (NC End Milling Strategy of Triangulation-Based Curved Surface Model Using Steepest Directed Tree)

  • A novel and efficient cutter path planning method for machining intricately shaped curved surfaces, called the steepest directed tree method, is presented. The curved surface is defined by triangular facets, the density and structure of which are determined by the intricacy and form accuracy of the surface. Geometrical form definition and recognition of the topological features are used to connect the nodes of the triangulated surface meshes for the successive and interconnected steepest pathways, which makes good use of end milling characteristics. The planetary cutter centers are determined to locate along smoothly changing paths and then the height values of the cutter are adjusted to avoid surface interference. Several machined examples of intersecting and intricate surfaces are presented to illustrate the benefits of the new approach. It is shown that due to more consistent geometry matching between cutter and surface(in comparison with the current CC Cartesian method) surface finish can be typically improved. Moreover, the material in concave fillets which is difficult to be removed by ball mills can be removed efficiently. The built-in positioning of cutter to avoid interference runs minutely in the sharp and discontinuous regions. The steepest upward movement of the cutter gives a stable dynamic cutting state and allows increase in the feedrate and spindle speed while remaining the stable cutting state.

iGS를 이용한 모바일 로봇의 실내위치추정 알고리즘 (Localization Algorithm for a Mobile Robot using iGS)

  • As an absolute positioning system, iGS is designed based on ultrasonic signals whose speed can be formulated clearly in terms of time and room temperature, which is utilized for a mobile robot localization. The iGS is composed of an RFID receiver and an ultra-sonic transmitter, where an RFID is designated to synchronize the transmitter and receiver of the ultrasonic signal. The traveling time of the ultrasonic signal has been used to calculate the distance between the iGS system and a beacon which is located at a pre-determined location. This paper suggests an effective operation method of iGS to estimate position of the mobile robot working in unstructured environment. To expand recognition range and to improve accuracy of the system, two strategies are proposed: utilization of beacons belonging to neighboring blocks and removal of the environment-reflected ultrasonic signals. As the results, the ubiquitous localization system based on iGS as a pseudo-satellite system has been developed successfully with a low cost, a high update rate, and relatively high precision.
