The purpose of this study is to solve the problems of radio frequency bandwidth frequency depletion, confusion possibilities, and security that are in current wireless communications systems, and to confirm the possibility of applying those solutions for the next generation network. To solve the problems of the current wireless communications system, a visible light communications system for power line communication (PLC) via 8-bit microcontroller is created and the capacity is analyzed. The exclusive PLC chip APLC-485MA, an 8-bit ATmega16 microcontroller, high brightness 5pi light emitting diodes (LEDs), and the LLS08-A1 visible light-receiving sensor were used for the transmitter and receiver. The performance was analyzed using a designed program and an oscilloscope. The voltage change was measured as a function of distance from 10-50 cm. Blue LEDs showed the best performance among the measured LED types, with 0.47 V of voltage loss, but for a distance over 50 cm, precise data was not easy to obtain due to the weak light. To overcome these types of problems, specific values such as the changing conditions and efficiency value relevant to the light emitting parts and the visible light-receiving sensor should be calculated, and continuous study and improvements should also be realized for better communication conditions.

Due to high oil prices, environmental pollution, the study of electric vehicles have been actively promoted. Charger for the electric vehicle is being developed using wireless rather than cable options. In this paper, we got more efficiency from using a superconducting transmission coil compared to using a normal coil. We implemented a wireless power transmission system using a magnetic induction at a frequency of 63.1 kHz. For comparison, a transmitter was designed using a superconducting coil and a normal coil. In addition, a receiver used a normal coil to apply for electric vehicles. The applied voltage and current were12 V and 5 A. Efficiency at a distance of 40 ~ 80 mm was measured. As a result, the superconducting transmission coil had a higher efficiency than the normal transmission coil. However, the receiving coil should be normal conductor for stable operation considering that it was put in moving electric vehicle. The efficiency was increased to 44 % at a distance of 40 mm when the diameter of normal receiving coil was 120 mm.
Contactless power transfer technology is gaining increasing attention in city transportation applications because of its high mobility and flexibility in charging and its commensurate power level with conductive power transfer method. In this study, an inductively coupled contactless charging system for a 48 V light electric vehicle is proposed. Although this study does not focus on system efficiency, the generic problems in an inductively coupled contactless power transfer system without ferromagnetic structure are discussed. An active load matching method is also proposed to control the power transfer on the receiving side through a load matching converter. Small signal modeling and linear control technology are applied to the load matching converter for port voltage regulation, which effectively controls the power flow into the load. A prototype is built, and experiments are conducted to reveal the intrinsic characteristics of a series-series resonant inductive power charger in terms of frequency, air gap length, power flow control, coil misalignment, and efficiency issues.
RF-ID system is one of the very interesting field not only in a technical and economical point of view but also that people are still trying to realize lossless power transmission. This paper has a purpose on the efficient power transmission at the passive type IDcard by using wireless power transmission system. The most difficult but important part of the passive type RF-ID system is building the system that supplies power from Reader-antenna to IDcard-antenna. To check what is the most efficient way to deliver power depending on what kind of specifications of the power-amp in reader, antenna and antenna in IDcard is for operating IDcard circuit efficiently receiving the power from reader-antenna. For this, we used 125kHz sinewave for RF signal as a basic specification, OP-amp for amplifying signal and power-amp for amplifying power, loop type antenna.
Commercial home appliances using remotely controlled systems consume electric power while in standby mode to prepare for receiving a remote turn-on signal. The proposed power system can significantly reduce standby power consumption without increasing cost. Furthermore, since a Electronic Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC) is used as an auxiliary power storage element, the life cycle is longer and system reliability can be better than with existing approaches. When the energy of the EDLC is not sufficient for turning on the appliance, the power system charges the EDLC without affecting the main system. The proposed power system is verified with a commercial LCD TV and a 3.93mW standby consumption is obtained. This standby consumption can be regarded as zero standby equipment according to the IEC-62031 standard.
Energy conversion to renewable energy is being promoted to solve the recently serious environmental pollution problem. Solar energy is one of the promising natural renewable energy sources. Compared to other energy sources, it is receiving great attention because it has less ecological impact and is sustainable. It is important to predict power generation at a future time in order to maximize the output of solar energy and ensure the stability and variability of power. In this paper, solar power generation data and sensor data were used. Using the PCC(Pearson Correlation Coefficient) analysis method, factors with a large correlation with power generation were derived and applied to the GAM(Generalized Additive Model). And the prediction accuracy of the power generation prediction model was judged. It aims to derive efficient solar power generation in the future and improve power generation performance.

The reliability and performance of WiFi need optimization because of the rising number of WiFi users day by day. A highlighted point is saving power while transmitting and receiving packets using WiFi devices. Wake-on-Wlan (WoW) is also implemented to improve energy consumption, but it also needs betterment. This paper will introduce universal ideas to transmit and receive packets using low-power technology like Bluetooth or BLE (Bluetooth low energy). While looking for power-saving ways in this research, WiFi connection and maintenance also take care using lesser power-consuming technology. Identifying different use-cases where low power technology can help save energy and maintain 802.11 connection is part of the research. In addition, the proposed method discuss energy saving with unicast and broadcast/multicast data. Calculation of power-saving and comparison with standalone WiFi usage clearly shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, a novel planar spiral antenna of multi-tabs is proposed for wireless power transmission system based on low frequency magnetic inductive coupling. The proposed antenna has higher transmission efficiency than conventional antennas such a rectangular spiral antenna and a spiral antenna. Also, it has a useful property of uniform power transmission in the region of the antenna aperture. For verification, a transmitting antenna and a receiving one for a wireless power transmission system using magnetic inductive coupling of 132 kHz low frequency are designed and tested. The transmitting antenna has three-tabs spiral of unequal-space for higher uniform magnetic coupling in the antenna aperture. For reducing the receiving antenna size, two receiving antennas of unequal space two-tabs on one-side and series double sides as well are designed, respectively. From measurement, transmission efficiency of the proposed antennas is improved up to $3{\sim}10$ dB compared to conventional antennas.

This paper proposes a new magnetic resonant wireless power transfer system. Two transmitters are arranged to secure a range wider than the existing one-to-one resonance, thereby enhancing the practicality of the system. Two identical transmission units are arranged to strengthen the magnetic field and to subsequently increase the magnitude and distance of the power transmitted to the reception unit. A constant power can be maintained in a wide range through the phase control of different output powers according to the positions of the transmitting and receiving coils. A constant power can also be obtained by transmitting to the receiver. The experiment results show that the proposed method outperforms the conventional method.

It is made compulsory to install SPD for the purpose of protecting electric and electronic devices when an abnormal voltage such as lightning occurs to power line using power frequency of 60Hz. Recently, the high speed communication technology utilizing power line is receiving attention again as a communication technology for smart grid. The SPD influences the performances of power line communication when using SPD and power line communication system together. In order to improve the performance of power line communication, a proposed scheme for series connection of gas discharge tube to ZnO varistor was presented. This paper measured the impacts of series connection of GDT to SPD using ZnO varistor on the limit voltage of Class III SPD. This paper also presented the DC operating voltage of GDT which satisfies the limit voltage of power line communication system and SPD simultaneously.
