  • Trace elements compose a very small portion of the body, however they have a variety of essential functions. Various diseases are caused by trace element deficiencies, and sometimes they can be fatal. Long-term TPN is a risk factor of trace element deficiency, and trace elements need to be checked regularly while receiving TPN. It is important to provide sufficient requirements of trace elements regarding the clinical features and the problems of trace element excess or deficiency. Moreover extensive studies to establish the efficiency of examining human hair and nails, recent method to determine the trace elements, are required.

  • This paper describes the design, the manufacture and the development of th eautomatic gain control unit which ajdusts the gain of IF processor in the high sensitive & multifunctional receiver unit (HMR) for pulse doppler radar system. Accodording to the effective distnce of target, radar cross section, and a lot of external environments (such as clutter), the receiving stage of RADAR system often deviates from dynamic range. To solve this kind o fproblem, continuous/pulse wave AGC are realized, make it possible to control the gain characteristics of receiver stably, and can increase dynamic range linearly by adjusting the gain slope of receiver which is limited by 1-dB gain compression point. In this study, AGC unit is designed to regulate the total gain of receiver by using te analog feedback theory. It also has rapid enough response to process pulse signal. This study presents the gain control method of IF, the real manufacture technique (the package-type components) and the measurement performance of AGC.

  • This study is about the influence of recording reflective journals and receiving feedback from professors on academic achievements in technical writing. We analyzed the differences between the test group who had recorded reflective journals and getting feedback, and the control group who had gotten feedback without reflective journals. And we compared academic achievements by conducting both professor evaluation and peer evaluation in technical writing. The results showed better learning effect, learning satisfaction and academic achievements in the test group than the other.

  • A handover for DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcasting for Handheld) is the action of switching a receiver from receiving one signal to receiving another, when moving between the border of their coverage areas. This paper proposes new approaches for improving loss-free handover performance in the DVB-H networks. The proposed handover schemes are targeted to two different DVB-H receivers: One is for the receivers equipped with GPS devices. The other is for ones without GPS support. The first handover approach modifies the cell description table(CDT) proposed in the literature[1]. The second proposes a novel handover region estimation technique based on a new handover map table(HMT). This new handover approach estimates a predefined hand over region described in the HMT using measured RSSIs signal patterns. The estimation success rate is simulated and the benefits of the proposed method are discussed considering time and power consumption.

  • Purpose: This study was to explore the predictors of subjective well-being of Korean older adults. Method: Data were collected through the structured interview using questionnaire with 199 older adults over 60 years. To identify the most effective predictor of the SWB, a stepwise regression analysis was conducted on each subscale of SWB measure. Results: The results showed that receiving support from family was the effective factor of life satisfaction. Receiving support from family, health, optimism, economy, positive reappraisal, and giving support to family were the effective factors of emotional well-being. Conclusion: This study found that family support was the most important predictor on SWB among Korean older adults.

  • We make an ultrasonic system as a trial to measure the distance between trawl doors, and carried out a water tank ($24{\times} 24$m, water depth 1 m) experiment for confirming the practical use of the system in October 1996. This system calculates the distance between the pinger (50 kHz) and the transponder (50 kHz/70 kHz) attached each one on the trawl door by measuring the time-difference of receiving with two channels receiver on the trawler. This paper assums that both the length of the warp from the stern to the trawl door is same. At results the system shows a good relation between the distance and the time-difference of receiving while the location of the pinger is moved in variously in the water tank, and it was found that the method of measuring techniques on the prototype system could be applied to the measurement of the trawl door opening in the field experiment.

  • In this study, the piezoelectric ceramics/polymer composite transducers with 1-3 connectivity have been studied. A piezoelectric ceramics PZT prepared by Wet-Dry Combination method was used as a filler in polymer matrix Eccogel. We've got the pulse-echo response for 1-3 type piezc-electric composite transducers in water. It was shown that the transmitting and receiving sensitivity of 1-3 type piezoelectric composite transducers could be improved in comparison with that- of solid PZT transducers. The reason is for that 1-3 type Piezoelectric composites have low dielectric constant and density. There was in a good agreement between the resonant frequencies calculated from one period and observed results on the Ultrasonic Transducer Analyzer. According to these results we could be figured out the distance in water by virture of the pulse-echo response.

  • In order to design mutual communication between a distributed control system and a function test facility, we used the Inter-Process Communication(IPC) in two systems and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) protocol. The data from the function test facility are put in the shared memory using an IPC, which is then accessed by the distributed control system through an Application Program Interface(API). The server in the function test facility includes two processes(one for sending and one for receiving), which are generated by the fork function from the client signal. The client in the distributed control system includes two separate programs(one for receiving and one for sending).

  • Electromagnetic fields, radiated from an intestine-ingested source and propagated through an inhomogeneous human body model, are computed with the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The calculated results obtained at some receiving points vertically placed according to the abdomen of the human body model show unusual dip patterns in the frequency domain. The frequency of this unusual dip varies according to the location of the receiving points. Thus, the relationship between the frequency of the unusual dip and the incident angle of the line-of-sight is analyzed. The effect of the location of an ingested source on the above relationship is also investigated. The slope of the approximately linear relationship is affected by the location of the ingested source.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore and develop a deeper understanding of the experiences of mothers of premature children receiving rehabilitation therapy. Methods: The participants were 12 mothers with premature children who had received rehabilitation therapy for over 1 year. Individual in-depth interviews were conducted from July to August 2017. The data were analyzed through the phenomenological research method. Results: The participants' experience was structured into five thematic clusters: 'Regret and guilt that premature birth led to rehabilitation therapy', 'Burden of life in an endless tunnel', 'Changes in personal relationships surrounding me and my child', 'Meaning of new life through my child', and 'Desire to expand the rehabilitation of premature infants'. Conclusion: The results of this study will be helpful for developing family-centered care programs for premature infants at high risk of developmental disorders.
