Electric cables are one of the most important components in a nuclear power plant since they provide the power needed to operate electrical equipment. Despite their importance, cables typically receive little attention since they are considered passive, long-lived components that have been very reliable over the years when subjected to the environmental conditions for which they were designed. The operating experience reveals that a defect of the insulator or poor construction causes the initial failure of cable. However, the number of cable failures increase with plant aging, and these cable failures are occurring within the plants' 40-year licensed period. These cable failures have resulted in plant transients, shutdown, loss of safety functions or redundancy, entries into limiting conditions for operation, and challenges for plant operators. Therefore, diagnosis of MV cable installed in NPPs has become one of the most urgent issues in recent years. In accordance with PSR, condition maintenance for cables is also continuously required. Recently, HFPD tests have been widely performed to diagnose cable in the transmission and distribution cable system. However, on-line HFPD wasn't used in the NPPs because of the danger of plant shutdown, measurement sensitivity and application problems, etc. In this paper, HFPD measurement with portable device was performed to evaluate the integrity of the 4.16kV & 13.8kV cable lines. The test results show that HFPD is highly attractive to the diagnosis of MV cables in NPP by high detection sensitivity on-site.
Purpose: Will more expensive gifts be more pleasurable and appreciated? This is a general expectation of gift-givers. According to the previous study on Americans (Flynn and Adams 2009), recipients tend to appreciate gifts regardless of their price. It indicates that there is an interaction effect between position (giving / receiving) and gift price. This study expands the previous study and aims to answer the following two questions: "Are such an interaction effect observed in Korean, too?" and "What types of people prefer expensive gifts?" Research design, data, and methodology: Study 1 of the current research repeated the Study 3 of Flynn and Adams (2009), with an iPod (high-priced gift condition) and a music CD (low-priced gift condition). That is, a 2 (gift price: high / low) x 2 (position: giver / receiver) between-group design was used. Study 2 used gift certificates of 100,000 won (high-priced gift condition) and 5,000-won gift (low-priced gift condition). Unlike the previous study that measured only one dependent variable (gratitude), this study added five more dependent variables in an attempt to exclude alternative explanations, such as endowment effects or emotional conflicts. This study also measured individualism / collectivism, face sensitivity, and materialism to explore the types of people who prefer expensive gifts. Results: The interaction effect between gift price and position on the level of appreciation was not significant. Meanwhile the main effect of gift price and of position were significant. The gift-recipient was more appreciative than the gift-givers' expectation regardless of the price of gifts. To investigate individual differences, individualism/collectivism, face sensitivity, and materialism were examined, but none of these variables were significantly related to the preference for expensive gifts. Respondents who received gift certificates in Study 2 were less grateful than those who received iPods or music CDs in Study 1. Conclusions: This study found that Koreans tend to be more grateful if they receive expensive gifts, in contrast to the Flynn and Adams (2009)'s study with Americans. In addition, gift-recipients appreciated more than givers' expectation and were more grateful when they received tangible products rather than gift certificates.
The spatial distribution of electromagnetic fields in the human body can be adjusted by using high dielectric materials. This method has a complementary compared to other methods. However, it can be used as a powerful dielectric shimming tool in certain applications. It can be manufactured in a geometrically free shape and a pad manufactured according to the purpose can be applied without any change of the system. Especially in ultrahigh magnetic field (UHF) MRI, the clinical high dielectric pad used to increase the intensity of the transmit (B1+) and receive (B1-) fields, which has low sensitivity due to the high operating frequency, has great potential. In addition, there are few studies applied to UHF MRI. Therefore, in this study, a high dielectric material pad made of calcium titanate suspension was developed in the laboratory. And the signal increase of clinically useful images was confirmed in various protocols of UHF 7T MRI.
The present study proposes a system that can detect sleep-disordered breathing automatically using an air mattress and oxygen saturation. A thin air mattress was fabricated to reduce discomfort during sleep, and respiration signals were acquired. The system was configured to be synchronized with a polysomnography to receive signals simultaneously with other bio-signals. The present study has been conducted with nine adult male and female patients with sleep-disordered breathing, and sleep-disordered breathing events have been detected by applying the signals acquired from the subjects to the rule-based detection algorithm. The sensitivity and positive predictive values were found to evaluate the performance of the system, which are 91.4% and 89.7% for all events, respectively. The comparison of apnea hypopnea index(AHI) between the polysomnography and the proposed method showed squared R-value of 0.9. This study presents the possibility of detecting sleep-disordered breathing at hospitals or homes using the proposed system.
Internal organs are in a game paduk[go] to play on a printing, and a poker, Korean playing cards having cards we. And I am with all kinds of electronic amusements to do a computer with a partner and baseball, soccer, golf, tennis, several hundred to enjoy in a stadium. Most games except a computer game are local, and a case to receive a courtship is in a game during this because I need time, personnel (the other party)? and a game tool. But a computer game is single, and a game is possible, and a number for the merit that can easily play a game by an offer of all tools is, and for this reason a lot of games to enjoy in a computer please be, and it has been transplanted. I do I in order to announce that interface of a game studied a problem and an improvement plan to have let there be a few I (to game interface) if a game is ported with a computer in this study by this.
It is increased that need of broadband multimedia service to make useful environment for user and to support the operation of railway system. So study of integrated data transmission in a subway and railway is activated. The research deals with pass loss characteristics of 18GHz microwave that is assigned frequency of integrated data transmission in a subway and railway. It is used sample integrated transmission system in subway and railway of KRRI(korea railroad research Institute) at the tunnel and road. Specification of test sample system is blow. It use OFDM modulation, Wireless frequency is 18GHz and 19GHz, Maximum output power is 20dBm, Receive sensitivity is -90dBm. The designed and fabricated millimeter-wave security screening system receives radiation energy from an object and a human body. The imaging system consist of sixteen array antennas, sixteen four-stage LNAs, sixteen detectors, an infrared camera, a CCD camera, reflector, and a focusing lens. This system requires high sensitivity and wide bandwidth to detect the input thermal noise. The LNA module of the system has been measured to have 65.8 dB in average linear gain and 82 GHz~102 GHz in bandwidth to enhance the sensitivity for thermal noise, and to receive it over a wide bandwidth. The detector is used for direct current (DC) output translation of millimeter-wave signals with a zero bias Schottky diode. The lens and front-end of the millimeter-wave sensor are important in the system to detect the input thermal noise signal. The frequency range in the receiving sensitivity of the detectors was 350 to 400 mV/mW at 0 dBm (1 mW) input power. The developed W-band imaging system is effective for detecting and identifying concealed objects such as metal or plastic.

In this paper, we propose a GNSS-based RF receiver, A high precision localization architecture, and a high sensitivity localization architecture in order to solve the satellite navigation system's problem mentioned above. The GNSS-based RF receiver model should have the structure to simultaneously receive both the conventional GPS and navigation information data of future-usable Galileo. As a result, it is constructed as the multi-band which can receive at the same time Ll band (1575.42MHz) of GPS and El band (1575.42MHz), E5A band (1207.1MHz), and E4B band (1176.45MHz) of Galileo This high precision localization architecture proposes a delay lock loop with the structure of Early_early code, Early_late code, Prompt code, Late_early code, and Late_late code other than Early code, Prompt code, and Late code which a previous delay lock loop structure has. As we suggest the delay lock loop structure of 1/4chips spacing, we successfully deal with the synchronization problem with the C/A code derived from inaccuracy of the signal received from the satellite navigation system. The synchronization problem with the C/A code causes an acquisition delay time problem of the vehicle navigation system and leads to performance reduction of the receiver. In addition, as this high sensitivity localization architecture is designed as an asymmetry structure using 20 correlators, maximizes reception amplification factor, and minimizes noise, it improves a reception rate. Satellite navigation system repeatedly transmits the same C/A code 20 times. Consequently, we propose a structure which can use all of the same C/A code. Since this has an adaptive structure and can limit(offer) the number of the correlator according to the nearby environment, it can reduce unnecessary delay time of the system. With the use of this structure, we can lower the acquisition delay time and guarantee the continuity of tracking.
To estimate buffer capacity and sensitivity of forest ecosystem to acid rain in Taejon, ionic components of throughfall, stemflow, soil leachate, and open rain in Pinus rigida and Quercus variabilis forest were analysed. The spatial sensitivity based on parent rock and forest type was given by IDRISI of GIS which created imagery conversion from soil and vegetation map. Parent rocks and soils were classified into acidic, sedimentary, metamorphic rock and then subdivided based on $SiO_2$ content. Average pH of vegetation leachate was higher in throughfall but lower in stemflow than open rain and higher in Quercus variabilis forest than in Pinus rigida forest. The flow of $SO{_4}^{2-}$, $NO_3{^-}$ and $Cl^-$ through vegetation leaching(throughfall plus stemflow) into soil were 7.2, 4.3, and 2.5 times, respectively, higher in Pinus rigida forest and 4.4, 2, and 2.5 times, respectively, higher in Quercus variabilis forest than in open field. But the concentration of exchangeable cations was 4.1 times higher in Pinus rigida forest and 4.6 times higher in Quercus variabilis forest than in open field. Average pH of soil leachate was lower than that of throughfall, but higher than that of stemflow. The concentration of exchangeable canons and $Al^{3+}$ in soil leachate were more in Pinus rigida forest than in Quercus variabilis forest and increase signficantly with the increase of acidic deposits. Pinus forest had more deposition and canopy interception of acidic pollutants and more nutrient loss than Quercus forest, and Quercus forest had more cation exchange and proton consumption and than consequently had less nutrient loss and better buffer capacity than Pinus forest. The 69% of forest soils was distributed on acidic rock, 25% of it on metamorphic rock, and 6% of it on intermediate and basic rock. Acidic rock residuals which had low very canon exchange capacity and high sensitivity to acid rain occupied a half of total forest land in Taejon area. Therefore forests in Taejon showed high vulnerability to acid rain and will receive much more stress with the increase of acid rain precursors.
This study Proposes a quadrature-typed inside-out receiver coil to obtain magnetic resonance(MR) images of lumen wall. This means that the coil should receive the signals from out-side of receiver coil. This coil has wide and uniform sensitive region to compare with previous coils such as anti-solenoid coil, octal-pole coil and so on. These coils have the disadvantages that sensitive region is narrow and inhomogenous. The proposed coil is consist of two saddle coils of which directions are orthogonal to one another. The sensitivity maps of octal-Pole coil single-saddle coil and quadrature-typed inside-out coil were obtained by computer simulation. And phantom images for each coil were obtained to evaluate the performances of the coil using both 1.5T superconducting and 0.3 Permanent magnet MRI system. The uniformity of quadrature coil's sensitivity map was superior to that of octal-polel coil. Experimentally measured SNR of quadrature coil is also 36% higher than that of single-saddle coil This study shows the possibility of quadrature-typed inside-out receiver coil for the MR lumen wall images.
