k-nearest neighbor (K-NN) is a well-known classification algorithm, being feature space-based on nearest-neighbor training examples in machine learning. However, K-NN, as we know, is a lazy learning method. Therefore, if a K-NN-based system very much depends on a huge amount of history data to achieve an accurate prediction result for a particular task, it gradually faces a processing-time performance-degradation problem. We have noticed that many researchers usually contemplate only classification accuracy. But estimation speed also plays an essential role in real-time prediction systems. To compensate for this weakness, this paper proposes correlation coefficient-based clustering (CCC) aimed at upgrading the performance of K-NN by leveraging processing-time speed and plurality rule-based density (PRD) to improve estimation accuracy. For experiments, we used real datasets (on breast cancer, breast tissue, heart, and the iris) from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) machine learning repository. Moreover, real traffic data collected from Ojana Junction, Route 58, Okinawa, Japan, was also utilized to lay bare the efficiency of this method. By using these datasets, we proved better processing-time performance with the new approach by comparing it with classical K-NN. Besides, via experiments on real-world datasets, we compared the prediction accuracy of our approach with density peaks clustering based on K-NN and principal component analysis (DPC-KNN-PCA).

A new signal processing system for real time displacement measurement in sinusoidal phase modulating interferometry is described. Although sinusoidal phase modulating interferometry is effective in measuring with high accuracy the displacement of an object, conventional signal processing takes a long time. In this method, detection of the object's displacement is easily achieved by sampling the interference signal at those times that satisfy certain conditions and by processing the sampled signals with electric circuits in real time. The delay time of this signal processing system is < 45${\mu}$s. Specially in this paper we describe all electronic circuit and optical system design
LiDAR(Light Detection and Ranging) technology provides realistic 3-dimension image information, and it has been widely utilized in various fields. However, the utilization of this technology in the military domain requires prompt responses to dynamically changing tactical environment and is therefore limited since LiDAR technology requires complex processing in order for extensive amounts of LiDAR data to be utilized. In this paper, we introduce an Unmanned Aircraft Platform Based Real-time LiDAR Data Processing Architecture that can provide real-time detection information by parallel processing and off-loading between the UAV processing and high-performance data processing areas. We also conducted experiments to verify the feasibility of our proposed architecture. Processing with ARM cluster similar to the UAV platform processing area results in similar or better performance when compared to the current method. We determined that our proposed architecture can be utilized in the military domain for tactical and combat purposes such as unmanned monitoring system.
As the network technologies advance, the control systems progress from a centralized architecture to a distributed one. However, these control systems were designed mostly based on the general-purpose operating systems(OS) and have many problems for assurance of a real-time property required for plant processing fields. Therefore, the control systems far a plant process upon real-time OS hare been increased gradually. In this paper, the real-time OS emphasizes on the realization of real-time processing capability, reliability of real-time response, and multi-processing functionality which are prerequisites for a distributed control system. And on the basis of this OS, the number of executable loop and logic, the functions of main plant processing, was analyzed and its validity was also evaluated. The system in this paper was designed not to effect on processing data while online, and the time spent on switching was measured.

This pc-vision system digitizes/displays 512*512*8 bit pixel image in real time and is capable of the various image processing. This system provides a versatile solution to those users pursuing high performance image processing system compatible with the VME bus, and is general purpose imaging system giving the optimal efficiency for machine vision, medical use and various task. In this paper, Image processing technique has classified image enhancement and image analysis in order to design and implement the pc-vision system. In order to improve processing speed, This system unilizing ROI processing performs point operation, local operation and global operation as well as common arithmetic/logic operation in real time.
Real-time high-precision image georeferencing is important for the realization of image based precise navigation or sophisticated augmented reality. In general, high-precision image georeferencing can be achieved using the conventional simultaneous bundle adjustment algorithm, which can be performed only as post-processing due to its processing time. The recently proposed sequential bundle adjustment algorithm can rapidly produce the results of the similar accuracy and thus opens a possibility of real-time processing. However, since the processing time still increases linearly according to the number of images, if the number of images are too large, its real-time processing is not guaranteed. Based on this algorithm, we propose a modified fast algorithm, the processing time of which is maintained within a limit regardless of the number of images. Since the proposed algorithm considers only the existing images of high correlation with the newly acquired image, it can not only maintain the processing time but also produce accurate results. We applied the proposed algorithm to the images acquired with 1Hz. It is found that the processing time is about 0.02 seconds at the acquisition time of each image in average and the accuracy is about ${\pm}5$ cm on the ground point coordinates in comparison with the results of the conventional simultaneous bundle adjustment algorithm. If this algorithm is converged with a fast image matching algorithm of high reliability, it enables high precision real-time georeferencing of the moving images acquired from a smartphone or UAV by complementing the performance of position and attitude sensors mounted together.

Requirement level regarding processing and managing real-time datastream in an ubiquitous environment is increased. Especially, due to the unbounded, high frequency and real-time characteristics of datastream, development of specialized stroge manager for DSMS is necessary to process such datastream. Existing DSMS, e.g. Coral8, can support datastream processing but it is not scalable and cannot perform well when handling large-volume real-time datastream, e.g. 100 thousand over per second. In the case of Oracle10g, which is generally used in related field, it supports storing and management processing. However, it does not support real-time datastream processing. In this paper, we propose specialized storage manager of DSMS for real-time compressed storing on semiconductor or LCD production facility of Samsung electronics, Hynix and HP. Hynix and HP. This paper describes the proposed system architecture and major components and show better performance of the proposed system compared with similar systems in the experiment section.

Generally in case of tablet PC's, the Windows 8 is used to support various functions or development convenience, however it cannot support real-time processing. In addition, existing commercial solutions and RTiK has a problem to support real-time processing due to impossibility of getting APIC timer count value which is used to generate timer interrupt separated from that of Windows. Thus, in this paper, we set the initial APIC count value using MSR_FSB_FREQ to support real-time processing on the Windows 8-based tablet PC's. Additionally, we deal with designing and implementing RTiK+ providing real-time processing to guarantee interrupt periods by controlling C-State which is used for low power techniques. To evaluate the performance of the proposed RTiK+, we measured the periods of generated real-time threads using RDTSC instructions which return the number of CPU clock ticks, and verified that RTiK+ operates correctly within the error ranges of 1ms.

In this paper, a program for real time simulation of a vehicle is developed. The program uses relative coordinates and BEF(Backward Difference Formula) numerical integration method. Numerical tests showed that the proposed implicit method is more stable in carring out the numerical integration for vehicl dynamics than the explicit method. Hardware requirements for real time simulation are suggested. Algorithms of parallel processing is developed with DSP (digital signal processor).

An optimization-based real-time joint angle extraction method of human elbow is proposed by processing the biomedical signal of surface EMG (electromyogram) measured at the center point of biceps brachii. The EMG signal is known as non-stationary (time-varying) signal, but we assume that it is quasi-stationary because a physical or physiological system has limitations in the rate at which it can change its characteristics. Based on the assumption, a pre-processing method to obtain pre-angle values from raw EMG signal is firstly suggested, and then an optimization method to minimize the error between the pre-angle and real joint angle is proposed in this paper. Finally, we suggest the experimental results showing the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
