This paper suggests the system for searching and application is to be in combination between existing hair art area and Image/Video processing area. This proposed system usually saves various hair types into a database, then, users send images of their face over the internet by using WebCam. Finally, they can find the hair types for users.

The aim of this study was to investigate the epidermal moisturizing effects of artocarpin on normal human epidermal keratinocytes (NHEKs). To investigate the effects of artocarpin on NHEKs, cell viability and the expression of mRNAs related to skin hydration were measured. In addition, hyaluronic acid (HA)-ELISA assay was performed. Here, the effects of artocarpin on AQP3, HAS2, KRT1, and KRT10 mRNA expression, and on HA production, following UVA treatment were reported. The Quantitative real-time PCR results demonstrate that artocarpin increased AQP3, HAS2, KRT1, and KRT10 mRNA levels. The HA-ELISA assay revealed that artocarpin also increased HA production in NHEKs. Through these experiments, the epidermal moisturizing effects of artocarpin have been elucidated, providing evidence that artocarpin may be a potent cosmetic ingredient in skin anti-aging and moisturizing products. Based on these results, I anticipate that further research on the mechanisms of action of artocarpin may allow the development of not only cosmetics, but also medicines and healthcare foods.

Since 1990s the concern on essence and inside has transferred onto the surface and its style. The longing for plastic surgery and skin beauty might prove this fervent tendency. Furthermore the development of digital media and technology as well as high-tech material enabled this hope to be real in the realm of design. All these progresses and transitions toward the surface introduced more creative and novel phenomena of furniture design arena around its surface. The rising of surface has evolved through architecture, interior design and furniture. The surface of furniture can be easily transposed into the human skin. And it acquires the aspects of skin's metaphoric and symbolic meaning. The characteristics of skin effect in furniture design can be summarized as material aspects, relational aspects, and formal aspects. Material aspects shows skin's elasticity and smooth plane. Relational aspects express the reactive functions of skin. Formal aspects represent organic power through surface.

Culture industry is appearing as an important sector of economy. Many kinds of culture industry like movie, music, drama, animation and game are creating enormous wealth all over the world. Fashion is a kind of culture industry too and even sometimes treated as art. Korean fashion is not treated as real culture but still as a part of textile industry. Internationally Korean fashion has not yet much to show, and despite of it's potential it does not attract much interest from other countries. In this paper properties and effects of mulberry handmade paper clothes were investigated with five clothes made of it. In making handmade mulberry paper clothes various techniques could be applied and these techniques could bring new effects. Because mulberry handmade paper does not have little flexibility than ordinary texture, much efforts should be put to the detail works. Handmade mulberry paper clothes have enormous potential as art, because various approach could be applied.

Welding deformations injure the beauty of appearance of a structure, decrease its buckling strength and prevent increase of productivity. Welding deformations of real structures are complicated and the accurate prediction of welding deformations has been a difficult problem. This study proposes a method to predict the welding deformations of large structures accurately and practically based on the simplified thermal elasto-plastic analysis method. The proposed method combines the inherent strain theory with the numerical or theoretical analysis method and the experimental results. The weld joint is assumed to be divided into 3 regions such as inherent strain region, material softening region and base metal region. Characteristic material properties are used in structural modeling and analysis for reasonable simplification. Calculated results by this method show good agreement with the experimental results. It was proven that this method gives an accurate and efficient solution for the problem of welding deformation calculation of large structures.

The purpose of this study was to re-interpret the traditional patterns in modern point of view and connect them to the apparel textile design to use them widely in our real life. For this, a documentary research on the traditional patterns and arabesque patterns was made first, and then, through the manual and photoshop workings, two apparel textile designs were suggested. As a result, the followings were acquired: First, the arabesque pattern, which is a traditional pattern of Korea, has a continuous life power and a natural formative characteristics. In its pattern, there is an abundant possibility of change. So, it has a wide usability regardless of time and space. As the symbolic image of the arabesque pattern is connected with the instinctive beauty sense of human beings, it has shown the more adhesive affinity that any other materials. Second, two kinds of textile design were suggested. The motif of work 1, "Fragrance of Woman," was the richness and the harmony, and so a lotus arabesque pattern was selected to present its concept, "Classic Elegance." The expression technique was to use a manual work and cloths to make it a voluminous one. The motif of work 2, "Green Field" was to show the clean beauty with a lotus arabesque pattern. Its concept was the "Natural Elegance," and the expression technique was to repeat the motif by using the Adobe Photoshop to complete the work.

Micro dust is closely related to real life. Especially, the micro dust forecasting system is being implemented from February 2014. Reliability of data through air pollution monitoring network is important. The Ministry of Environment operates 506 air pollution monitoring networks (11 types) to analyze national air quality and establish air policies. However, there is not enough system to confirm and check the site suitability of the measurement site. Therefore, this study analyzes urban space using GIS. Assess the appropriateness and equity of air pollution measurement facilities. The final goal is to reflect the results of the analysis into the Seoul Metropolitan Air Pollution Monitoring Network Installation Plan.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative effects of Osung-tang(OST) extract. Methods : MTT assay was performed to confirm the survival rate of RAW 264.7 cells treated with OST extract(50-400㎍/㎖) and the production of NO from LPS-induced RAW 264.7 cells was confirmed. The mRNA expression of iNOS, COX-2, and NF-κB were measured by real-time PCR. The protein expression of iNOS, COX-2 and p-IκB were measured by western blot and the anti-oxidant activity of OST extract(50-400㎍/㎖) was investigated by measuring DPPH scavenging activity. Results : OST extract showed a cell survival rate of 90% or more at 50-400㎍/㎖. The NO production was inhibited in a dose-dependent manner in RAW 264.7 cells treated with LPS on OST treated group. mRNA expression levels of iNOS, COX-2 and NF-κB decreased in a concentration-dependent manner after treatment with OST(50-400㎍/㎖). Protein expression levels of iNOS, COX-2 and p-IκB decreased in a concentration-dependent manner after treatment with OST(50-400㎍/㎖). It was found that OST has a high free-radical scavenging ability. Conclusions : These results suggest that OST extract can be used as a treatment for various skin diseases by demonstrating its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects.

In this research, I compared and analyzed the 'factors of style' that expresses and visualizes the 'characteristics of characters' and the characters from three movies each that was filmed with Kang Ho Song and Keong Ku Seol who acted in many movies both. As the result, for the factors for actors' makeup design, since they have limited choices of textures, colors, and the range of changes, changing the tone of skin to light to dark implied the images of characteristics. Somewhat dark skin tone that was like tanned skin expressed the life style of the character who works for an active profession not for an intellectual position. For the factors of hair style, medium sized wavy hair that goes straight down forehead expressed the character's familiar and informal personality while short cut sized all back style hair expressed confidence, sociality, and logical personality of the character. The actors' costume was important to express the characteristics of characters such as changes of their mind, especially the costumes delivered symbolic meanings of the role of their social class, profession, and their financial state. In addition, there were common factors to create and design a character in terms of the changes of the actors' body shape; when the actor acted the character who has conflicts inside and sarcastic personality, they lost weight on purpose while they gained weight and made a barrel shaped body to act the character who is positive in every occasion and does not realize the real world or who is greed.

The purpose of the study was to examine make-up expression elements of horror characters as an evil spirit, a vampire, a zombie, a monster and a psycho murderer through make-up, focused on horror movies of the United States after1960s. First, an evil spirit was expressed that the pupil grew dim without a focus and the skin was torn by going bad and rot completely. Also, it was expressed that its teeth was changed to pointed canine teeth as a wild beast and its pale and bloodless face showed blood vessels clearly. To express its bloodless and pale skin, air brush was swept into the skin over several times. Its canine tooth was made acryl powder into its shape and was harden to make its shape smooth. Also, it was colored to show people like the real thing. Second, a vampire was expressed by make-up elements as long nails, a sharp canine tooth, a pale skin with a blood vessel and dead eyes. Its rough skin and long nails were manufactured with latex foam, which was colored like the skin. Third, a monster image as a werewolf was expressed by make-up elements as fur, sharp teeth, changed nails and toenails, a rough skin and a face changed to a wolf. Rubber mask and rubber body suit were manufactured as a make-up of special character and so all its body was changed. Fourth, a psycho murderer and body-deformed man were expressed by make-up elements as a distorted mask, swelled-up and deformed skull and face form, terribly deformed body, discolored and hang down skin and teeth with an indeterminate form. Its body and face were manufactured by the foam latex technology according to make-up design as a make-up of special character.
