본 연구의 목적은 장애 아동·청소년의 독서역량 강화를 위해 독서역량과 독서역량 개념에 따른 구성요인을 파악하고 진단 문항을 개발하여 장애 아동·청소년의 독서역량 진단도구 개발의 기초자료를 제공하기 위함이다. 연구 방법은 문헌연구, 브레인스토밍, 델파이조사 및 예비조사를 실시한다. 연구 결과 독서역량 진단도구 구성요인은 크게 2개 영역(정의적 영역, 환경적 영역), 4개 범주(독서동기, 독서태도, 인적 환경, 물적 환경), 4개 범주별 총 13개 구성요인(독서 흥미, 독서가치, 독서인정, 독서기대, 독서습관, 독서효능감, 독서몰입, 독서불안(회피), 가정/가족, 학교/교사, 또래, 독서환경, 매체환경)을 도출하고, 그에 따른 문항을 개발하였다. 이 결과를 토대로 장애 아동·청소년 독서역량 진단도구 개발 방향을 제시하였다.

본 연구는 학교도서관 중심의 독서교육을 위한 내용체계 즉, 범위와 계열을 제안하는데 목적이 있다. 기존의 독서교육 내용체계를 비교 분석하여 공통적인 요소를 추출하고, 이를 바탕으로 우리나라의 실정에 맞는 독서교육의 내용체계 즉, 범위와 계열을 설정하였다. 우리나라의 고등학교 독서 교과의 교육과정은 물론 미국과 일본의 대표적인 독서 관련 교육과정의 내용체계를 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 10개 영역, 45개 요소의 독서교육 내용(요소)을 1차적으로 설정하였다. 초 중등학교 현장의 사서교사를 대상으로 설문조사하여 1차적으로 설정한 독서교육의 범위(요소)에 대한 타당성과 지도하기에 적합한 학교 급별 수준을 조사한 후 최종적으로 학교도서관 중심의 독서교육 내용체계 즉, 범위와 계열을 제안하였다.

This paper presents the outcome of a survey done in two colleges of education in Kumasi, Ghana to determine the reading habits of students. A questionnaire was conveniently administered to the third-year students of Wesley College of Education and St. Louis College of Education all in Kumasi the capital of Ashanti Region of Ghana. One hundred and sixty-two copies of the questionnaire were administered to the students in the two colleges. The study found that both parents and tutors influence students reading at the same rate, in both colleges students read an average of one book in two months which was not encouraging with the most preferred reading materials being course books followed by textbooks and fiction. Their purpose of reading is to broaden their knowledge, and to pass examination. They choose busy schedule on campus and too much academic work as the reasons which affect their reading habits. Furthermore, it was revealed that, too much family responsibilities and lack of conducive environment were major constraints that restrict their reading at home. The study recommends the following to enhance reading habits of the students: parents should create healthy surrounding for learning; students should also be motivated to read through the formation of reading clubs and group presentation of assignment.

The purpose of this study is to survey colors of background, marker, and pointer being used in passenger car's combination meter, and to suggest ergonomic design guidelines of combination meter to enhance driver's readability. An experiment was conducted, in which colors of background, marker, and pointer were selected as independent variables, and reading time, reading error, and preference for combination meter were measured as dependent variables. Most of passenger cars sold in Korea were found to have combination meter with black background, while marker. The experimental results showed that reading time of combination meter with white background, black marker and point was shortest, reading error was lowest in combination meter with black background, yellow marker pointer, and preference for combination meter with white background, black marker and black or red pointer was highest. The results implied that combination meter with white background, black marker and black pointer should be used for comprehensively optimizing reading time, reading error, and preference for it. It was expected that these results could be used as valuable design guidelines when designing combination meter of passenger car.

중국의 독서운동은 1993년부터 청소년 교육의 일환으로 '청소년독서교육활동'으로 시작되고, 2006년부터 정부 차원의 '전민독서활동'으로 전개하고 있다. 이 연구는 독서운동 해외사례 조사의 하나로 중국의 독서운동에 대한 조사 및 분석을 목적으로 문헌연구와 인터넷 조사방법 및 메타스터디 방법으로 진행하였다. 독서 현황과 관련하여 중국인의 독서 이유와 독서하지 않는 이유 그리고 독서율과 독서량을 살피고, 독서운동 현황으로 '전민독서활동'의 배경과 운영방식 및 주요 활동에 대하여 조사하였다. 중국 독서운동의 특징과 문제점을 살피고, 우리나라의 독서운동을 위하여 1) 국가차원의 독서운동 전개, 2) 공통 주제를 통한 집중적 독서운동, 3) 자기교육과 인성개발을 위한 청소년 독서교육을 제언하였다.

이 논문은 서울, 인천, 경기의 초 중 고등학교 도서관에서 시행하고 있는 독서교육을 위한 학교도서관의 행사 실태를 조사 분석하여 독서교육 관련 행사의 활성화 방안을 제시하였다. 첫째, 학교도서관에는 사서교사가 배치되어야 한다. 둘째, 독서 및 도서관에 관련된 행사를 해야 한다. 셋째, 학교도서관 홈페이지를 통하여 독서교육 관련 행사를 홍보해야 한다. 넷째, 독서교육 관련 행사 추진을 위한 예산이 확보되어야 한다. 다섯째, 독서교육 관련 행사 추진을 위하여 행정적 지원이 있어야 한다. 여섯째, 사서교사는 사회적 기념일을 통한 독서교육 방안을 수립해야 한다.

본 연구의 목적은 여학생들이 어릴 때부터 여고생 시절까지 성장하면서 각 시기별로 읽는 도서의 양 사이에는 어느 정도의 상관관계가 있는지, 또 각 자료유형별 상관관계는 어떠한지에 대하여 밝히고 이 결과를 대학생들을 대상으로 한 연구내용과 비교하여 신뢰성 있는 이론을 창출하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 설문지를 활용한 서베이 연구방법을 사용하여 성장시기별 자료유형별 독서량 등을 조사하고 통계처리 방법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 특정 시기에 특정 매체(일반도서, 만화, 잡지)를 많이 이용하면 다른 시기에도 동일 매체를 많이 이용할 가능성이 높고 어린 시절 만화의 독서량이 많은 학생들은 상급학교에서 일반도서를 읽을 가능성이 높은 것으로 밝혀졌다.

The present study has a dual purpose to investigate the current state of school English library and needs required for its effective use, and to propose a reading program at the school library. The literature on school library was reviewed. A questionnaire survey was done to find out the current situation of English library at the secondary school. The analysis of 26 secondary English teachers' responses reveals that there was the absence of librarians or reading specialists at the school English library. It was also found that the uses of the English library were limited due to the absence of the specialists, no guidelines, and no link between the curriculum and the library use. A case study on a 2-week special reading program at the school English library was conducted and 15 middle school students took part in the project. The participants took pre- and post-tests to identify their reading level using a software and did a variety of reading activities using the books selected according to their level. The comparison of the tests shows that most of the students' reading level improved after the reading program. The analysis of their views on the program and its effects reveals that they gained confidence in reading and their vocabulary understanding was improved. Some suggestions are made for the effective management of the school English library.

국내 공공도서관이 설치 운영하는 일반열람실은 문화선진국에 거의 존재하지 않는 한국적 특수성을 대변하는 공간이다. 그것이 지역주민을 위한 필수공간이라면 모든 공공도서관이 설치 운영해야 한다. 그렇지 않다면 기존 공공도서관은 일반열람실의 축소 내지 개선방안을 마련하고 신축도서관은 설치여부를 전략적으로 고민할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 일반열람실 운영현황 및 주요 쟁점을 분석한 후에 직원(사서) 및 이용자를 대상으로 일반열람실에 대한 인식도를 조사 비교하여 방향성을 제시하였다. 이 연구결과는 지방공공재 논의의 중심적 테마인 일반열람실 문제에 대한 지속적인 논의에 단초를 제공하고 바람직한 대안을 강구하는데 기여할 수 있다.

이 연구는 개인의 독서생활 및 도서관 활성화에 북페스티벌이 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 북페스티벌에 참여 경험이 있는 참여자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 분석결과 북페스티벌의 참여는 개인의 독서생활 및 도서관 인식, 도서관 이용에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 대한 심층 분석 결과 참여자의 북페스티벌 인식은 개인의 독서생활 및 도서관 인식, 도서관 이용에 있어 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있으나, 그 영향력(2.1~4.7%)은 미미한 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 북페스티벌 참여만족도는 '도서 및 전시판매' (30.1%) 참여만족은 개인의 독서생활에 영향을 미치고 있었으며, 체험부스 참여만족은 도서관 인식(22.4%), 도서관 이용(26.4%)에 영향을 미치고 있었다. 전반적인 참여만족 역시 참여자의 독서생활(24.5%), 도서관 인식(20.1%), 도서관 이용(27.5%)에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
