One of important topics in mathematics education research is communication. Mathematical communication consists of writing, reading, listening and speaking. But, research on reading has not yet to have a commensurate emphasis, despite important changes that have occurred in the theory and practice of communication. This study is intended to search for reading in school mathematics. First, we explore theories of reading and reading instruction. Second, the factors involved in reading are examined. These factors are learners, texts and teachers. Third, we provide a variety of reading strategies that are reading and enacting strategy, reconstructing strategy, presupposing strategy, becoming an author strategy, sketch to stretch strategy and reading- cooperative learning strategy. They will help students to foster students' mathematical ability as well as reading skill.

본 연구의 목적은 장애 아동·청소년의 독서역량 강화를 위해 독서역량과 독서역량 개념에 따른 구성요인을 파악하고 진단 문항을 개발하여 장애 아동·청소년의 독서역량 진단도구 개발의 기초자료를 제공하기 위함이다. 연구 방법은 문헌연구, 브레인스토밍, 델파이조사 및 예비조사를 실시한다. 연구 결과 독서역량 진단도구 구성요인은 크게 2개 영역(정의적 영역, 환경적 영역), 4개 범주(독서동기, 독서태도, 인적 환경, 물적 환경), 4개 범주별 총 13개 구성요인(독서 흥미, 독서가치, 독서인정, 독서기대, 독서습관, 독서효능감, 독서몰입, 독서불안(회피), 가정/가족, 학교/교사, 또래, 독서환경, 매체환경)을 도출하고, 그에 따른 문항을 개발하였다. 이 결과를 토대로 장애 아동·청소년 독서역량 진단도구 개발 방향을 제시하였다.

이 연구는 우리나라 문헌정보학분야 독서 연구의 경향을 분석하고 연구의 발전적인 방향을 모색하기 위해 한국문헌정보학회지, 한국도서관 정보학회지, 한국비블리아학회지에 창간호부터 2012년까지 게재된 학술논문 191편을 분석하였다. 학회지, 연도, 연구자, 연구비, 주제, 연구방법 등을 기준으로 논문 현황을 분석하였고 연구에서 나타나는 내용과 방법론을 중심으로 개선과제를 살펴보았다. 연구 논문 분석을 토대로 독서 연구의 발전을 위한 과제로 독서론 연구의 확대, 사회적 독서 이슈에 대한 연구 주도성 강화, 연구 방법론의 적실성 제고 등을 제안하였다.

이 연구는 1990년대 초기 독서운동과 독서교육의 양상을 고찰하는 데 목적을 두었다. 특히 본고는 근현대 독서 대중화 운동을 전반적으로 검토하기 위한 시론으로서 일제 강점기, 건국기, 1950년대, 1960년대, 1970년대, 1980년대 독서 대중화 운동 연구에 이은 후속 연구에 속한다. 이러한 일련의 연구 목적은 시기별 독서 현상의 변화상을 비교 분석하여, 오늘에 이르는 독서운동과 독서교육의 현주소를 찾아보려는 데 있다. 제반적인 독서 현상에 대한 분석은 그에 따른 향후 독서운동과 독서교육을 보다 효과적으로 전개시키는 토대를 마련할 것으로 보인다. 본론에서는 첫째, 1990년대 초기 독서 대중화 운동의 양상, 둘째, 1990년대 초기 독서경향 등으로 대별하여 고찰하였다. 특별히 독서경향에서는 사회 전반적인 독서운동의 양상과 공교육 내에서의 독서교육 현상을 비교하려는 목적에서, 일반독서와 학생독서를 구별하여 살폈다.

Reading fluency is an important variable in reading comprehension. However, a limited number of studies on reading fluency are available in Korea. The purpose of this study is to review the articles about reading fluency during last 10 years and to present a direction for future research. Forty research papers from the Journal of Learning Disabilities and Language Speech and Hearing Services in Schools were selected from 2002 to 2012. These papers were analyzed in terms of their subjects and research methods. About 64% of the articles focused on typically developing children and children with dyslexia. About 67% of the research consisted of descriptive studies. Based on these results, suggestions were made for future research on reading fluency.

독서의 대상과 방법에서 많은 변화가 발생하고 있음에도 불구하고, 인간의 지적 능력을 개발하는 가장 효과적인 수단으로서 독서의 중요성은 지속적으로 강조되고 있다. 그러나 국내에서 독서는 재미와 흥미를 동반하면서 즐거움과 기쁨을 주는 행위라기보다는 지루하고 딱딱한 교육이나 학습 활동의 일환으로 인식되고 있는 경향이 있다. 또한, 독서에 대한 높은 관심과 강조에 비해 이를 체계적으로 실행하기 위한 독서 프로그램에 대한 관한 논의는 상대적으로 부족한 상황이며, 국내에서 독서 프로그램 분야의 전반적인 연구 동향을 파악하고자 하는 연구는 찾아보기 어렵다. 이에 따라 국내 독서 프로그램 분야의 연구 동향을 전반적으로 살펴보기 위하여, 키워드 프로파일링에 기초한 지적구조 분석 방법을 적용하였다. 특히 RISS 데이터베이스에서 검색한 국내 독서 프로그램 분야 학위논문과 학술지 논문의 키워드에 기초하여 기본 분석, 주제어 분석, 연구 영역 분석, 시기별·연도별 분석을 단계적으로 수행하였다. 또한, 이러한 지적구조 분석의 결과로 파악한 국내 독서 프로그램의 연구 동향을 종합적으로 검토하여 향후의 연구 과제를 제시하였다.

본 연구는 문헌정보학 측면에서 국외 독서 및 독서교육 연구의 동향을 분석하고 향후의 연구과제를 제시하였다. 이를 위해 첫째, 문헌정보학 분야 국외 데이터베이스(LISTA)의 통제 키워드와 DDC 23판을 검토하여 독서 및 독서교육 관련 주요 연구 영역을 설정하였다. 둘째, 문헌정보학 분야 국외 데이터베이스(LISTA)에서 검색한 지난 100년(1914년~2014년) 동안의 독서 및 독서교육 관련 학술논문(2,115편)을 대상으로 지적구조 분석을 적용하여 연구동향을 분석하였다. 셋째, 이러한 연구동향 분석의 결과에 기초하여 독서 및 독서교육 분야의 향후 연구과제를 제시하였다.

Purpose: Previous studies rarely investigated the effects of the metacognitive reading strategies on reading engagement, particularly in globalized higher education, while those studies examined reading problems and engagement with lower reading level. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the metacognitive reading strategies including global reading, problem solving, and supporting reading on reading engagement that include argentic, behavior, emotional, and cognitive engagement in global learning environment. This study investigated research questions: how do global reading, problem solving, and supporting reading strategies affect argentic, behavior, emotional, and cognitive reading engagement? Research design, Data, and methodology: This study collected data via online survey in globalized learning environment. This study applied statistical analyses, such as factor and regression analyses and ANOVA. Results: The results of this study showed that metacognitive reading strategies had significant effects on student reading engagement while they were reading class materials in English for academic purposes. Conclusions: This study provides managerial implications in higher education by providing better strategies to enhance learning skills in global context. In particular, this study provides implications that the effects of problem solving and supporting strategies could be improved by adopting better management systems in globalized education.

This paper explores the learners' experience process and features in the initial stage of extensive reading process through college students' daily based journal writings. The subjects of this study were 10 volunteer students and they kept their journals from 30 minutes to 2 hours daily based for two weeks. The participants took pre and post tests in order to find out how their reading comprehension ability improved. Four of them improved it while the rest of them did not. After writing journals for two weeks, all students agreed on the potential power of extensive reading. In addition, they realized their learning problems and tried to overcome them on their own ways. Although the research period was only two weeks, the students showed the potential of extensive reading in learning English. From the results of the study, extensive reading encouraged the students to read more and they were convinced that extensive reading will lead to successful learning English. It can be meaningful outcome from the 2-week period research. Thus, a longer period scheme could provide more detail information to the extensive reading.

이 연구는 1960년대 독서 대중화 운동과 독서 경향을 조명하려는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이 시기는 공교육 차원에서뿐만 아니라 사회 전반에서 교양으로서의 '독서'에 대한 학문적이며 정책적인 관심이 고조되었던 시기이다. 본고에서는 이러한 1960년대 독서 및 독서 교육의 제반 현상들을 주로 신문 자료를 토대로 기술함으로, 일종의 '독서 사회'의 형성 과정을 사회학적인 측면에서 살폈다. 구체적인 연구 내용을 제시하면 첫째, 1960년대의 독서 경향으로써 1) 일반 독서 경향 2) 학생 독서 실태를 둘째, 독서 대중화 운동으로서 1) 도서관의 독서 운동 2) 마을문고와 독서 운동을 등으로 대별하여 그 양상을 고찰했다.
