We, previously, proved that the noise in the vertical readback from some of beam position monitors (BPMs) in the vacuum chamber of Pohang Light Source (PLS) are caused by the transverse electric (TE) longitudinal harmonic resonances. Based on this analysis, we now design the shunt structure to remove the TE mode resonces near the BPMs operation frequency of 500 MHz in the storage ring vacuum chamber of PLS upgrade project (PLS-II). The simulation result and experimental test result will be presented.

In this paper, we analyzed the effect of the pattern height on the readback signal characteristics of the magnetic nanopillar tops and trench bottoms. In addition, we discuss the applicability of the present method to the production of patterned magnetic media, which can be obtained by depositing magnetic thin films on the molded nanopillars with passive heating. We found that the individual magnetic island deposited on each molded nanopillars with passive heating is a single magnetic domain and confirmed that its magnetization can be successfully reversed by applying an external magnetic field.

VTS 항해에 있어서 VHF는 선박에서 단순한 통신장비로서만 기능하는 것이 아니라 중요한 항해계기로서의 기능을 수행하고 있다. 항행정보는 물론 항행의도를 교환하여 항행에 관한 의사결정을 조기에 할 수 있도록 도와주는 일들이 모두 VHF 교신을 통해서 이루어진다. 본 논문에서는 VHF 교신 실패에 따른 사고 위험성을 살펴본 뒤 실제 VHF 사용실태와 그 문제점에 관하여 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 VHF 커뮤니케이션 개선방안은 물론 이를 실현하기 위한 정책방향을 제시하였다.

비행 편수의 증가 추세는 관제 밀집도를 높여 항공관제 사와 조종사간 communication 실수를 유발할 수 있는데 특히 호출 부호(Call Sign)의 혼동, 착각에 의한 경우가 많은 것으로 나타나고 있다. 항공 관제사와 조종사간의 communication 실수는 항공기 고도 위반, 활주로 침범, CFIT, 공중 충돌, Near Miss로 인한 위험 상황을 초래할 수 있다. 본 연구는 민간 항공사에 근무하는 조종사들의 유사 콜사인에 대한 혼동 정도와 위험성 인식을 설문 조사하였으며 이를 분석하여 방지 대책을 모색하였다. 국내 조종사와 외국인 조종사의 혼동 정도와 위험성 인식의 차이는 나타나지 않았으며 공항이 위치한 국가에 따라 혼동 정도의 차이가 있었다. 동일 항공사에서 나타나는 유사 콜사인은 자체 해결 가능하였지만 타 항공사와의 유사 콜사인을 해결하는 데는 한계가 있어 관계 기관의 적극적인 중재가 요구된다.

A numerical dynamic simulation is necessary to investigate the capacity of the HDD. The slider surface become more and more complicated to make the magnetized area smaller and readback signal stronger. So a numerical dynamic simulation must be preceded to develop a new slider in HDD. The dynamic simulations of air-lubricated slider bearing have been peformed using FIFD(Factored Implicit Finite Difference) method. The governing equation, Reynolds equation Is modified with Fukui and Kaneko model(FK model) which includes the first and the second-order slip. The equations of motion for the slider bearing are solved simultaneously with the modified Reynolds equation for the case of three degrees of freedom. The slider transient response for disk step bump and slider impulse force is given for various case and for iteration algorithm and new algorithm.

This study deals with the overall meta-cognitive aspects of ATC-Pilot miscommunications pertinent to cognitive human errors based on the previous literature research which it has been focused on the issue of the global aviation English use in regard with aircraft accident and incident. Especially, it addresses the concern over the ICAO aviation English language proficiency evaluation program which will be implemented globally in March, 2008. In addition, It presents the analysis related to the on-going English language proficiency level four test conducted for Korean civil airlines pilots and air traffic controllers.
