축류형터빈 전효율에 파급된 불확도에 관한 실험적연구 (An Experimental Study on the Propagated Uncertainties on the Total-to-total Efficiency of an Axial Turbine)

  • 실험에서 측정변수에 발생되는 불확도가 터빈 전효율의 불확도에 미치는 영향을 실험을 통하여 분석하였다. 단단 축류형 3차원 터빈이 실험에 사용되었으며 평균반경에서 반동도가 0.373이며 상온 저압 상태에서 실험이 수행되었다. 입구/출구전압력에 의하여 발생되는 불확도는 터빈 전효율의 불확도로 전파되는 영향이 상당히 크게 나타나므로 상온저압시험에서는 높은 정밀도를 갖는 압력계가 필요하게 된다. 측정변수의 불확도가 전효율의 불확도에 차지하는 영향은 토오크에 의하여 발생되는 불확도가 가장 크게 나타났으며 회전수에 의한 불확도가 가장 적었다. 토오크의 불확도 영향은 회전수의 증가에 따라 증가하는 경향이 있다. 전압력의 경우는 출구측에서의 불확도가 입구측에 비하여 영향력이 크게 나타났다.

  • This study presents the prediction of NOx and mixing characteristics with several chemical reaction mechanisms of methane in EV burner of double cone. Experimental results are compared with numerical results for validation. Mixing characteristics are analyzed at monitoring points based on the modified unmixedness. The mixing characteristics were improved in a certain case, the lance injection case. In 1-step reaction case, inside of the cone, flame was formed and lots of NOx was generated because the fuel injected from the lance was overestimated. In 2-step reaction case, numerical results showed a good agreement with experimental results in a qualitative manner.

모형 가스터빈 연소기에서 희박 예혼합 화염의 연소 특성 및 유동 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Combustion Characteristics and Flow Analysis of a Lean Premixed Flame in Lab-Scale Gas Turbine Combustor)

  • The characteristics of combustion and flow for a lean premixed flame in lab-scale gas turbine combustor was studied through experiment and numerical analysis. From the experiment, flame structure and heat release rate were obtained from OH emission spectroscopy. Qualitative comparisons were made line-integrated OH chemiluminescence image and abel-transformed one. NOx analyzer was implemented to get the characteristic of NOx exhaust from the combustor. From the numerical analysis, the thermal distribution and characteristic of recirculation zone with the change of fuel-air mixing degree, the characteristic of methane distribution with equivalence ratio in the combustor respectively. Total heat release rate is increased with increasing equivalence ratio. Thermal Nox is reduced with increasing fuel-air mixing degree. Increasing equivalence ratio results in the decrease of the size of reaction zone and alteration of the position of the reaction zone into the entrance of the combustor.

  • 항공용 저출력 소형 가스터빈 엔진에 적용을 위한 연료 분사기의 분무 특성에 따른 반응 유동장에 대한 수치해석을 수행하였다. 인젝터의 개발에 있어 연료의 분무 상태가 엔진 성능에 큰 영향을 미치므로 다양한 변수에 대한 고려가 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 정지 상태의 유동장에 분사기를 위치시키고 액적의 평균 직경, 분사 압력, 분사각을 변경하며 그에 따른 반응 특성을 살펴보았다. 해석 결과 분사압과 분사 각도가 클수록, 액적의 직경이 작을수록 활발한 반응이 일어나지만 분사압이 큰 경우 영역내에서 기화되는 연료량이 감소함을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • This paper introduces the design concepts and characteristics of WinDS3000$^{TM}$ which is a trade mark of Doosan's 3MW offshore/onshore wind turbine. WinDS3000$^{TM}$ has been designed in consideration of high RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Serviceability) and cost effectiveness for the TC Ia condition in GL guideline. An integrated drive train design with an innovative three-stage gearbox has been introduced to minimize nacelle weight of the wind turbine and to enhance a high reliability for transmission. A permanent magnet generator with full converter system has been introduced to get higher efficiency in part load operation, and grid friendliness use of 50 Hz and 60 Hz grid. A pitch regulated variable speed power control with individual pitch system has been introduced to regulate rotor torque while generator reaction torque can be adjusted almost instantaneously by the associated power electronics. An individual pitch control system has been introduced to reduce fatigue loads of blade and system. The wind turbine has been also equipped with condition monitoring and diagnostic systems in order to meet maintainability requirements. And internal maintenance crane in nacelle has been developed. As a result, the maintenance cost was dramatically reduced and maintenance convenience also enhanced in offshore condition.

해수온도변화에 따른 온도차발전시스템의 동적 성능 시뮬레이션 (Dynamic Performance Simulation of OTEC According to Seawater Temperature Change)

  • In this paper, Performance of 1MW OTEC system using R32 with varying seawater temperature range is studied. Steady state cycle is designed and its output and generation efficiency were 1,014kW and 2.72%, respectively. Compared to dynamic cycle, system performance and change during long term operation is studied. The simulation is performed by decreasing surface seawater temperature from $29^{\circ}C$ to $25^{\circ}C$ with 20 minute of reaction time. Dynamic cycle with same condition applied to steady state cycle and it showed output and efficiency of 1,020kW and 2.75% respectively. Seawater temperature decreased from $29^{\circ}C$ and the vapor fraction of refrigerant decreased below 1 at $28^{\circ}C$. While the vapor fraction was above 1, the turbine output decreased by 0.017kW per second. After the seawater temperature reached $26.2^{\circ}C$, the turbine output decreased by 1.03kW per second. However, Driving the turbine below the saturation temperature caused the occurrence of surging and the influx of liquid refrigerant. When the liquid separator having a capacity of 1.0 m3 was used, the flow into the turbine was confirmed after 5 minutes from the first liquid refrigerant coming into the separator.

  • The concept of lean-premixed combustion in gas turbine combustor operation has become a standard in recent years as an effective means to meet stringent environmental standards on NOx emissions. Various types of air-fuel premixer, which affect greatly NOx emission and stability of lean-premixed low NOx combustor, were investigated experimentally to reduce the NOx emission. One type of the premixers is selected by experiments and applied it to 70kW class lean-premixed gas turbine combustor. The exit temperature and emissions of CO and NOx were measured with equivalence ratios at ambient pressure. From the results, the emissions of CO and NOx were influenced by the type of air-fuel premixer. As the mixing length of air and fuel is longer, the NOx and CO emission were decreased in the primary reaction zone. Compared with of conventional combustor, the lean-premixed low NOx combustor has low NOx emission characteristics.

  • Governing equations and numerical solution methods are derived for the analysis of a combination-type-staggered-labyrinth seal used in high performance steam turbines. A bulk flow is assumed for each combination-type-staggered-labyrinth cavity. Axial flow through a throttling labyrinth strip is determined by Neumann's leakage equation and circumferential flow is assumed to be completely turbulent in the labyrinth cavity. Moody's wall-friction-factor formula is used for the calculation of wall shear stresses. For the reaction force developed by the seal, linearized zeroth-order and first-order perturbation equations are developed for small motion near the centered position. Integration of the resultant first-order pressure distribution along and around the seal defines the rotordynamic coefficients of the combination-type-staggered-labyrinth seal. Theoretical results of leakage and rotordynamic characteristics for the IP4-stage seal of USC (ultra super critical) steam turbine are shown with the effect of sump pressure, the number of throttling labyrinth strip, and rotor speed.

Rotor dynamic analysis of a tidal turbine considering fluid-structure interaction under shear flow and waves

  • A rotor dynamic analysis is mandatory for stability and design optimization of submerged propellers and turbines. An accurate simulation requires a proper consideration of fluid-induced reaction forces. This paper presents a bi-directional coupling of a bond graph method solver and an unsteady vortex lattice method solver where the former is used to model the rotor dynamics of the power train and the latter is used to predict transient hydrodynamic forces. Due to solver coupling, determination of hydrodynamic coefficients is obsolete and added mass effects are considered automatically. Additionally, power grid and structural faults like grid fluctuations, eccentricity or failure could be investigated using the same model. In this research work a fast, time resolved dynamic simulation of the complete power train is conducted. As an example, the rotor dynamics of a tidal stream turbine is investigated under two inflow conditions: I - shear flow, II - shear flow + water waves.
