A Study on the Co-flow Diffusion Flame Temperature Measurement at Various Fuel Flows Rate Using the Rapid Insertion Technique (급속삽입법을 이용한 연료 유량에 따른 동축류 확산화염에서의 온도 측정에 관한 연구)

  • Co-flow laminar diffusion flames' temperature has been studied experimentally for ethylene$(C_2H_4)$ using a co-flow burner in order to investigate the characteristics of diffusion flame's temperature distribution. The temperature distributions in the flame were measured by rapid insertion of a R-type thermocouple. The measurement area was divided into three zones. 1st area was expect to created PAH zone, Il nd area was expect to form soot zone, which is known to generate most soot volume fraction, and III rd area was expect to from soot oxidization zone. Also The temperature along the flame y-axis as a fuel quantity was measured. As a results, we have measured temperature neglecting the effect of soot particles attached to the thermocouple junction, which is close to the nozzle and upstream zone has a unstable flow in co-flow diffusion flame and acquires that the flame y-axis temperature has a uniform temperature in the generated soot volume fraction zone(II nd).

Study of Growth and Temperature Dependence of SnS Thin Films Using a Rapid Thermal Processing (황화급속열처리를 이용한 SnS 박막성장 및 온도의존성 연구)

  • We fabricated a tin sulfide (SnS) layer with Sn/Mo/glass layers followed by a RTP (rapid thermal processing), and studied the film growth and structural characteristics as a function of annealing temperature and time. The elemental sulfur (S) was cracked thermally and applied to form SnS polycrystalline film out of the Sn percursor at pre-determined pressures in the RTP tube. The sulfurization was done at the temperature from $200^{\circ}C$ to $500^{\circ}C$ for a time period of 10 to 40 min. At ${\leq}300^{\circ}C$, 20 min., p-type SnS thin films was grown and showed the best composition of at.% of [S]/[Sn] $${\sim_=}$$ 1 and [111] preferred orientation as investigated from using XRD (X-ray diffraction) analysis and EDS (energy dispersive spectroscopy) and SEM (scanning electron microscopy), and optical absorption by a UV-VIS spectrometer. In this paper, we report the details of growth characteristics of single phase SnS thin film as a function of annealing temperature and time associated with the pressure and ambient gas in the RTP tube.

Pasting Properties of Crude ${\beta}-Glucan$ from Spent Brewer's Yeast on Wheat Flour and Starch

  • Plentiful amount of spent yeast has been produced as a by-product from breweries. ${\beta}-Glucan$ was prepared from the spent brewer's yeast in a crude form with hot water extraction and subsequent enzymatic treatment. The crude ${\beta}-glucan$ preparation consisted of mainly glucan (53% of total wt), containing approximately 35% ${\beta}-glucan$ content of total weight. The effects of crude ${\beta}-glucan$ substitution (1-9%) on pasting properties of wheat flour and starch were determined using a Rapid Visco-Analyzer (RVA). Incorporation of yeast ${\beta}-glucan$ into wheat flour and starch significantly decreased peak and [mal viscosities, but slightly increased setback viscosity. The setback viscosity was considerably higher in starch/${\beta}-glucan$ suspension than in flour/${\beta}-glucan$ suspension. It was suggested that preparation of yeast ${\beta}-glucan$ into aqueous dispersion might affect pasting behaviors of wheat flour and starch.

  • This study is aimed to diminish the errors which created during transforming from 3D shape created with CAD program to STL file formation. The length strain which created on X-Y axises at STL file transforming is diminished by using the relation between common shape error and shrinkage rate. As the result of study, we have confirmed the length strain in accordance with facetres value. Also, the shape error is compensated with shrinkage rate by error of length strain. so, we could diminish to shape error by several tens micrometer.

  • STEP is a neutral model for exchanging CAD modelbetween different CAD systms. The paper presents a laser path contour generation for rapid prototyping originated form STEP format files without using any tools nor libraries for STEP data manipulation. Polygons are generated from every point on the layer of given thickness, which are the intersections of layer plane and edges stored in entity tables. Curves are approximated with polygons whitin segment tolerance limit in order to cover sculptured surfaces. With the advantage of less data loss in direct slicing over STL formats, the system developed in this work shows a good potential to provide data share with various CAD systems including RP data preparation.

  • The business of manufacturing is increasingly becomeing time-compresssing, precise and long-life oiented, owing to various needs form the consumers and harsh global competition. with the emergence of the layer laminate maunfacturing methods, it is possible to prototypes directly from 3D CAD and additive process, the production time and cost have shortened dramatically. However there are some problems like surface-step, dimensional deviation and warp. A newly developed powder casting is suitable for rapid-manufacturing metallic tools. Powder casting can serve as a promising repid tooling method because of high density charateristics and low dimensional shrinkage below 0.1% during sintering and infiltration. By this process, we have realized significant time savings bypassing the wait for prototype tooling and cost savings eliminating the expense of conventional prototype tooling process.

A simple and rapid approach to modeling chromium breakthrough in fixed bed adsorber

  • A simple mathematical model for predicting fixed bed adsorption dynamics is described. The model is characterized by a linear adsorption isotherm and a linear driving force expression for mass transfer. Its analytic solution can be approximated with an algebraic equation in closed form which is easily evaluated by spreadsheet computation. To demonstrate one application of the fixed bed model, a previously published adsorption system is used as a case study in this work. The adsorption system examined here describes chromium breakthrough in a fixed bed adsorber packed with imidazole functionalized adsorbent particles and is characterized by a nonlinear adsorption isotherm. However, the equilibrium behavior of the fixed bed adsorber is in essence governed by a linear adsorption isotherm due to the use of a low influent chromium concentration. It is shown that chromium breakthrough is predicted reasonably well by the fixed bed model. The model's parameters can be easily extracted from independent batch experiments. The proposed modeling approach is very simple and rapid, and only Excel is used for computation.

  • In all Rapid Prototyping(RP) processes, computer-aided design(CAD) solid model is sliced into thin layers of uniform, but not necessarily constant, thickness in the building direction. Each cross-sectional layer is successively deposited and, at the same time, bonded onto the previous layer, the stacked layers form a physical part of the model. The objective of this study is to develop a method for obtaining necessary coordinates$(x,\;y,\;\theta_x,\;\theta_y)$ to position linear hotwire of the cutting system in three-dimensional space for the Variable Lamination Manufacturing process (VLM-S), which utilizes expandable polystyrene foam sheet as part material. In order to examine the applicability of the developed method to VLM-S, various three-dimensional shapes, such as a spanner, a patterned columm, and a pyramid were made using data obtained from the method.

CIRCUMSTELLAR PECULIARITIES IN INHOMOGENEOUS ENVELOPES OF THE YOUNG HERBIG AE/BE STARS

  • Circumstellar peculiarities of the young Herbig Ae/Be stars are analyzed using high-resolution CCD spectroscopic data, obtained in 1991-1996 at the ESO and the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory (about 450 spectrograms). The results of investigation of the rapid line variability in H$\alpha$, H$\beta$, HeI 5876 and DNaI lines are presented for AB Am, HD 163296, HD 36112, HD 100546, and HD 50138. We conclude that the behaviour of these lines can be explained in the framework of the model containing an equatorially concentrated and azimuthally inhomogeneous stellar wind, and an external cool shell that occasionally looses matter in form of infall onto the star.

  • In this study, we analyzed about that after design form manufacture master pattern in Rapid Prototyping-RP through design program, processes to manufacture prototype using Vacuum Casting. In Rapid Prototyping-RP, there is an en-or by shrinkage of resin and, in Vacuum Casting, there is an error by shrinkage of silicon. To select condition which shrinkage become the minimum of each process, manufactured prototype after using Full Factorial Design of Design of Experiments, We could confirm shrinkage using reverse engineering and that result came into effect ANOVA 2-way. We applied errors of each process to master pattern, and then presented the method to improve flood control precision of prototype of Vacuum Casting.
