We have developed a current range extension method to obtain the ratio error and phase displacement of a current transformer (CT) by using absolute evaluation method and two different CTs. The method was applied to CTs under test with the current ratios of the range of 5,000 A / 1 A - 20,000 A / 1 A. The ratio error and phase displacement of the CT under test obtained in this study are consistent with those measured at the national institute in Germany using the same CT under test within an expanded uncertainty (k = 2) in the overall current ratios.
Several algorithms have been developed for the data processing of spotlight synthetic aperture radar (SAR). In particular, the range migration algorithm (RMA) does not assume that illuminating wavefronts are planar. Also, a high resolution image can be obtained by the RMA. This paper introduces an extension of the original RMA to enable a more efficient airborne SAR data processing. We consider more general motion and scene than the original RMA. The presented formulation is analyzed by using the principle of the stationary phase. Finally, the extended algorithm is tested with numerical simulations using the pulsed spotlight SAR.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a neck exercise using a proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) neck flexion and extension pattern on body balance in a progressive range of positions (supine, prone on elbow, and sitting), on numbness in the upper extremities, and on neck flexion motions in cervical myelopathy patients. Methods: One participant who was diagnosed with cervical myelopathy participated in this study. A reversal design (A-B-A') was used. The A and A' were the baseline period (no intervention), and B was the intervention period. The intervention used a neck extension pattern with a hold-relax technique and a neck flexion pattern with a combination of isotonic techniques in the supine position. Then, neck flexion and extension patterns were applied together with a reversal technique for stabilization, followed by a neck extension pattern with a combination of isotonic techniques in the prone position on the elbows. Finally, a neck flexion and extension pattern was used with a stabilizing reversal technique, and a neck extension pattern was applied with a combination of isotonic techniques in the sitting position for 60 minutes per day, 3 times per week for 8 weeks. To measure balance, numbness, and neck motion during neck flexion, the one-leg stand test and the visual analogue scale were used. Results: The right and left one-leg stand tests showed increased balance ability in the intervention phase. Upper extremity numbness was decreased in the intervention phase, and neck flexion motion was increased in the intervention phase. These increases were maintained after the intervention (Baseline II). Conclusion: These results suggest that a neck exercise using a PNF neck pattern with additional techniques in a progressive range of positions has a positive effect on cervical myelopathy patients for balance, numbness, and neck motion.
A total of 51 vegetables and fruits, commonly consumed agriculture products in Korea, were analyzed for their α-carotene, β-carotene, and β-cryptoxanthin contents as provitamin A. The beta-carotene content (㎍/100 g) was high in a few green leaf vegetables such as coriander (5,924.07), gegeol radish leaf (5.855.72), and curried mallow (5,138.01), while α-carotene and β-cryptoxanthin contents were not detected. The β-carotene in 8 kinds of 20 general vegetables was detected in the range of 214.06~1,437.67 ㎍/100 g, while α-carotene was detected at 460.17 ㎍/100 g in only old pumpkin. The β-cryptoxanthin was detected in the range of 106.55~315.49 ㎍/100 g in Japanese elm, watermelon, white cucumber, and lettuce. However, carotenoids were not detected in 10 kinds of agricultural products including oriental melon, potato, etc. In fruits, the beta-carotene contents ranged from 165.72~3,997.39 ㎍/100 g, showing maximum value in apple mango and minimum value in persimmon. The β-cryptoxanthin was detected at 232.22 ㎍/100 g in only passion fruit, while the α-carotene was detected at 77.25 ㎍/100 g in only darae. Thus, based on the analyzed results of carotenoids of agriculture products consumed or cultivated in Korea, and it was found that green leaf vegetables comprise high beta-carotene overall.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of a group movement exercise program on psychophysiological variables in the institutionalized elderly. Methods: This research adopted the non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Twenty elders were selected as an experimental group, whereas twenty-two elders were as a control group. The group movement program consisted of 35 minutes of dance and three days a week for eight weeks. Resting systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and heart rate were measured in a relaxed sitting position. The range of flexion and extension of joint was measured with a gonimeter. Life satisfaction and self-efficacy were measured by self-report. Data were analyzed through $x^2$-test, t-test and ANCOVA using SPSS/WIN program. Results: The results were as follows: Resting systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and resting heart rate decreased significantly by the group movement training. The range of flexion and extension of the shoulder and hip joints increased significantly. The scores of life satisfaction and self-efficacy increased remarkably by the group movement. Conclusion: The results suggest that group movement training can be an effective intervention to improve psychophysiological variables and the range of motion for the institutionalized elderly.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of enlarging the breast by the B-secret I , II( vaccum vibrator) in women. This study was one group in a pre-test / post-test desgian with repeated measures. The experimental group of 30 patients were selected through sampling from L-oriental medicine in the P-city. The subjects received B-secret 1 , 11 ( vaccum vibrator) for 15 - 20minutes / 1 day during three months . All of the subjects were examined on the volume-size of the breast & the degree on the improvement. Prior and post surveys were measured before and after the experiment. The volume and size of the breast were measured the girth of the chest on the breast and below breast, the range on nipple and the middle point of the clavicle, the range on nipple and the middle point of the sternum, the range out of two nipple, the lineal and obligue line distance on nipple and the under crumples of breast, the height on the nipple and the under crumples of the breast, the diameter of the girth of nipple. As the effect on enlargement and the degree on the improvement of breast by B-secret 1 , 11 ( vaccum vibrator) were observed the girth of the chest on the breast, the range on nipple and the middle point of the clavicle, the range on nipple and the sternum, the height on the nipple and the under crumples of the breast.
PURPOSE: The aim of the study was to investigate the relationships among the hip joint passive range of motion (ROM) and femur head anterior glide (FHAG) mobility on the gait ability in patients with post-stroke hemiparesis. METHODS: The participants were 37 patients (30 male, 7 female) living in Daejeon. The ROM of the hip joint was measured by using goniometry and the FHAG mobility was measured by using the Prone Figure-4 test. The walking ability was assessed by using the 10m walk test (10MWT), and the 6-min walk test (6MWT). RESULTS: The FHAG was negatively correlated with hip extension (r=-.554, p<.05) and flexion (r=-.337) on the affected side as well as with hip extension (r=-.480), abduction (r=-.361), and adduction (r=-.426) on the non-affected side (p<.05). The gait ability was correlated with the hip joint external rotation on the non-affected side (p<.05), but showed no significant correlation with the hip ROM on the affected side (p>.05). CONCLUSION: This study provides evidence that in patients with post-stroke hemiparesis, the FHAG mobility might be correlated with hip extension. Based on these results, the FHAG mobility may be used to determine the hip extension in patients with post-stroke hemiparesis.
The purpose of this study is to compare the results between conventional and accelerated rehabilitation program following ACL reconstruction using bone-patellar tendon-bone. Conventional rehabilitation focused on protecting the new ligament by blocking terminal extension and avoiding active quadriceps function in the terminal degrees of extension. But there is current trend toward early postoperative mobilization and intensive. so called 'accelerated', rehabilitation stressing hyperextension of the knee. The results of intraarticular ACL reconstruction with conventional and accelerated rehabilitation were prospectively compared for one year postoperatively in a series of 27 patients. Range of motion and thigh circumference were checked preoperatively, and weekly up to 8 weeks, 3 months. 6 months, and 1 year postoperatively. Stress radiologic test, KT-1000 arthrometer. Cybex II dynamometer were checked in preoperatively, and 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year postoperatively. There were no differences of objective stability and restoration of muscle power. But the accelerated group had a low incidence of extension loss. excellent range of motion, and less difference of thigh circumference. We concluded that accelerated rehabilitation program is recommendable due to superiority in terms of range of motion, especially less extension loss without increasing laxity of knee joint.
Background: Measurement of passive ankle dorsiflexion range of motion (ADROM) is often part of a physical therapy assessment. Objects: The objective of this study was to identify the effects of subtalar joint neutral position (SJNP) on passive ADROM according to knee position in young adults. Methods: We recruited 14 young adult participants for this study. Two examiners used a universal goniometer to measure passive ADROM with and without SJNP. Dorsiflexion force was applied to the forefoot until maximum resistance was reached in two knee positions (extension and $90^{\circ}$ flexion) in the prone position. Subtalar joint position was also recorded at maximum ADROM. Passive ADROM was measured three times at different knee and subtalar joint positions, in random order. Two-way repeated-measures analysis of variance was used to compare the effects of subtalar joint and knee position on passive ADROM. Results: Passive ADROM was significantly lower with than without SJNP during both knee extension (mean difference: $7.4^{\circ}$) and $90^{\circ}$ flexion (mean difference: $16.9^{\circ}$) (p<.01). Passive ADROM was significantly higher during $90^{\circ}$ knee flexion than during knee extension both with (mean difference: $5.8^{\circ}$) and without SJNP (mean difference: $15.2^{\circ}$) (p<.01). The valgus position of the subtalar joint was significantly lower with than without SJNP during both knee extension (mean difference: $3.3^{\circ}$) and $90^{\circ}$ flexion (mean difference: $4.3^{\circ}$) (p<.01). Conclusion: Our results indicate that the gastrocnemius may limit ankle dorsiflexion more than the soleus does. Greater dorsiflexion at the subtalar and midtarsal joints was observed during passive ADROM measurement without than that with SJNP; therefore, SJNP should be maintained for accurate measurement of ADROM.
The number of the subjects of this study were all sixteen including 8 male and 8 female. They were chronic low back pain patients and treated at hospital out patient. The patients took lumbar extension strength training. The results of examination and analysis isometric lumbar extension muscular strength before and after the training are as follows; 1. TFT increased after lumbar extension muscular strength exercise than before the exercise. Inspire of difference of each angle. The reciprocal action didn't happen between training and angle. 2. NMT increased after lumbar extension muscular strength exercise than the before the exercise and the difference of each angle didn't happen. The reciprocal action also didn't happen between the training and angle. 3. Comparing presented standard point with individual point, 13persons' muscle strength of first step increased, on the other and 3 person's muscle strength a little increased in a same category. 4. The grade of low back pain decreased for all subjects. Concluding this study, lumbar extension muscular strength exercise through isokinetic device decreases the grade of low back pain and increase lumbar extension muscular strength. It is that equal exercise effect happen in full range of motion, for the exercise effect doesn't show the difference of each angle.
