전파굴절에 의한 비행체 추적오차 분석 (Analysis on Vehicle Tracking Error due to Radio Refraction)

  • 신호 추적 및 데이터 획득을 위하여 사용되는 접시형 추적안테나시스템의 추적정확도는 시스템 내부 요인뿐만 아니라 외적인 요인에 의하여 영향을 받는다. 본 논문은 무선주파수를 사용한 비행체 추적 및 위치측정에 있어서 전파굴절에 의한 추적오차를 나로우주센터에서 운용중인 2 GHz 원격측정 안테나 및 5 GHz 추적레이더로 추적한 항공기 및 위성발사체 추적결과와 GPS 측정한 결과를 이용하여 분석한다. 분석을 위하여, 추적시스템의 추적오차 원인 및 원인별 오차범위, 추적시스템의 정확도 검증결과 및 굴절율 특성을 바탕으로 전파굴절과 추적오차의 연관성을 검토한다. 분석결과, 안테나 고각 10 도 이하에서 전파굴절에 의한 각도오차가 사용된 추적안테나시스템 및 GPS의 측정오차에 비하여 무시할 수 없을 정도로 큰 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 대류권내에 있는 비행체(신호원)에 대한 추적각도는 안테나 고각뿐만 아니라 비행체 고도에 의해 영향을 받으며, 정확한 비행체 위치 측정을 위해서는 이를 보정하여야 하는 것으로 분석되었다.

Antenna Alignment Method for Low Angular Error of 3-axis Tracking System

  • This paper describes the antenna alignment method of the tracking antenna system for LEO satellite. The purpose of the antenna alignment is to reduce the angular error due to the structural alignment and the monopulse null point alignment error. The angular error of 3 axis tracking system is the key performance parameter that should be minimized to accurately track satellite movement. The angular error is analyzed via a simulation and boresight measurement. The simulation is done with formulas to be derived from vector concept for 3-axis movement. The formulas of the structural alignment are verified by comparing the formula result with the field measurement. Also, the angular error due to monopulse null shift is obtained via boresight measurement. Based on the analyzed and measured results, the antenna alignment was performed and was verified via tracking test of operating LEO satellite.

GPS를 활용한 누유 추적부이 시스템 (An oil spill tracking buoy using GPS)

  • An oil tracking system that monitors the spilt oil trajectory by using GPS was developed. The system consists of a tracking buoy deployed on the oil spilt area and an onshore(or onboard) monitoring station. The tracking buoy is equipped with GPS, signal converter, handy radio and battery while the monitoring station includes a station radio, signal converter, antennas and PC. The hull shape of buoy is designed to effectively simulate the spilt oil movement at sea surface. Radio sets for HAM are used as a data transmitter and a data receiving station, and signal converter is also for amateur use. A field experiment was conducted and it was shown that the integrated system is relable and robust. The developed oil tracking system reveals reatively good performance at reasonable cost. In favorable environment the system may communicate in the distance more than 50km.

  • The DTV (Digital TV) tuner for an 8-VSB (Vestigial Side-Band) modulation was developed to meet the requirements of the ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee). The double frequency conversion and the active tracking filter in the front-end were used to cancel interferences between adjacent channels and multi-channels by suppressing the IF beat and the Image frequency. However, It was impossible to get frequency mapping between the tracking filter and the first VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) in the existing DTV tuner structure which differs from the NTSC (National Television Systems Committee) tuner. This paper, therefore, suggests an assailable structure and a new method for the automatic frequency selection by mapping the frequency characteristics over the tracking voltage and the combined HW which is composed of a Micro-controller, an EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory), a DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter), an OP amplifier, and a switch driver.

도달 위상차를 이용한 열차 위치 추적 (Train Tracking System Using Phase Difference of Arrival)

  • Accurate and reliable tracking of train is essential for a train control system. The fixed block system which utilizes the track circuit has been used widely for detecting train position. As an alternative, the moving block system has the advantage over the fixed block system since it enables shorter headway and easier maintenance. This paper presents a new technique for the train tracking system which uses radio signal for the train position detection. The proposed algorithm uses the phase difference of arrival of radio signal for the detection of train position. Experimental verification of the algorithm is presented in the paper.

  • 소형 Radio Frequency 추적레이다는 표적에 대하여 전천후 Radio Frequency 신호 처리를 통하여 표적을 식별하고 주요 표적에 대하여 표적을 탐색, 탐지하여 추적하는 Radio Frequency 센서를 보유한 추적시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 전천후 Radio Frequency를 이용하여 표적 정보를 획득하여 실시간 신호처리를 통하여 표적을 식별하기 위한 고속의 멀티코어 DSP인 TMS320C6678과 XILINX FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array)가 탑재된 보드 개발의 내용을 설명한다. DSP, FPGA 선정과 신호처리를 위한 DSP-FPGA 결합 아키텍처에 대하여 제안하고 또한 고속의 데이터 전송을 위한 SRIO의 설계에 대하여 설명한다.

Current Status of KASI Solar Radio Observing System

  • Korea Astnonomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) operates two solar radio observing facilities, the Korean station of the e-CALLISTO and the Korean Solar Radio Burst Locator (KSRBL). The e-CALLISTO station had suffered from tracking problem for past several years. Since 2011, KASI has developed a new tracking system, and recently the antenna has regained the its sun-tracking capability and full day-time coverage. The KSRBL also suffered from the control computer breakdown last year. After one year of operational gap, the KSRBL restored its normal daily observation. We also expanded the data server storage capacity, to store the full original data of 25 ms integration time and 0.25 MHz frequency resolution, amounting to about 80 GB per day.

클러터 환경에서 다중센서 정보융합을 통한 유도성능 개선 연구 (A Study of Missile Guidance Performance Enhancement using Multi-sensor Data Fusion in a Cluttered Environment)

  • A MTG (Multimode Tracking and Guidance) system is employed to compensate for the limitations of individual seekers such as RF (Radio frequency) or IIR (Imaging Infra-red) and to improve the overall tracking and guidance performance in jamming, clutter, and adverse weather environments. In the MTG system, tracking filter, data association, and data fusion methods are important elements to maximize the effectiveness of precision homing missile guidance. This paper proposes the formulation of a Kalman filter for the estimation of line-of-sight rate from seeker measurements in missiles guided by proportional navigation. Also, we suggest the HPDA (Highest Probability Data Association) and data fusion methods of the MTG system for target tracking in the adverse environments. Mont-Carlo simulation is employed to evaluate the overall tracking performance and guidance accuracy.

발사체 추적자료 후처리를 통한 비행궤적 생성 (Flight trajectory generation through post-processing of launch vehicle tracking data)

  • 나로우주센터의 발사통제시스템은 우주발사체의 비행궤적과 상태정보를 감시하기 위하여 지상추적시스템(추적레이더 2대, 원격자료수신장비 4대, 광학추적장비 1대)으로부터 정보를 받아 처리한다. 각 추적장치는 주로 다중경로나 클러터, 전파굴절에 의해 자체 오차를 나타내고 있어 전송된 정보들 중 하나만을 이용해서는 우주발사체의 실제 궤적을 판별할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 취득된 추적자료의 후처리를 통해 우주발사체 비행궤적을 생성해내는 방법을 제시한다. 본 후처리 알고리즘은 크게 대기의 전파굴절에 따른 오차를 보정하는 부분과 다중센서 정보를 융합하는 부분으로 나뉘며, 효과적인 센서 융합을 위해 등가속 운동모델에 기반한 분산식 칼만필터를 구성하였다. 실측 자료의 후처리 적용 결과, 어떤 단일 센서에 의한 것 보다 오차가 최소화된 발사궤적을 얻을 수 있었다.

Autonomous Tracking of Micro-Sized Flying Insects Using UAV: A Preliminary Results

  • Tracking micro-sized insects is one of the challenges of protecting ecosystems and biodiversity. In this study, we propose an approach for the autonomous tracking of micro-sized flying insects, and develop an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based robotic system. The Kalman filter is applied to the received signal strength emitted from radio telemetry to estimate the position while reducing the measurement error and noise. The autonomous tracking strategy is a method in which the UAV rotates at one point to measure the signal strength and control its position in the strongest direction of the signal. We also design a system architecture comprising a tracking sensor system and a UAV system for micro-sized insects. The estimation and autonomous tracking of the target position by the proposed system are verified and evaluated through dynamic simulation. Therefore, in this study, we propose and validate a UAV-based tracking system for micro-sized flying insects, which has not been proposed in studies conducted thus far.
